If you’re so desperate to get a replacement and don’t have a problem paying the deductible, why don’t you let your buttery fingers drop the phone and pay the $99 deductible for a replacement?

Assuming you’re in the USA of course.
because its free if my battery goes to under 80. im at 81. ive been trashing the damn thing for weeks and it wont budge

Cuz it’s not a court trial and you’re not proving to anyone. If you don’t have your Apple account blacklisted for making false claims, you get treated the same as everyone else.
I know what youre going on about out about a court trial. Did you read my comment?

Apple told me the entire process is handled by the third party company, and they described a claims process, one not unlike what you would incur when you are in a car accident.

AIG decides if your claim is valid (which takes time), and they decide what the fee is. I -thought- it was supposed to be $150 per incident, but Apple claimed they could not provide that figure because it may be different than that. I asked if it was possible the fee could be $500, the rep laughed and 'assured me' it would not be $500.

Then i asked, what about $300? can you assure me of that? and the laugh turned to a nervous gulp and a confirmation she could not assure me of any number. So I think I made my point.

She then explained after the claims process they would then have to ship your device, and they dont offer overnight options for replacements.

So yah, sounds like in a golden path scenario, your lookin at 5-10 biz days, maybe longer if hiccups along the way. Hell, maybe never if its deemed that your claim is rejected!

Im gonna cancel theft and loss.
Can anybody in the UK say how a iPhone theft claim is handled. Is it similar to above?

I did read it and that’s why I said they’re not going to bend over backwards for you just cuz you bought their services. Their policy is strictly concerning the current situation.

One thing you can try is putting it in a case and playing graphic intensive games while plugged into a 20W or higher adapter. Heat is battery’s worst enemy.

Recieved my iphone 16 plus- on oct 8 my iphone slipped out of my pocket while on my harley- opened express replacement on line as when i went to store - no replacements in stock. So have not recieved express replacement yet, and today they tell me another 8-14 days - lol.
I was willing to get a black replacement instead of my blue but apple will not do as you have to swap same for same .
I have used applecare + before and always recieved in 3 days or less.
This is a joke and applecare+ is now a joke - apple has certainly deteriorated as a company and i have had every iphone since 2007.
Well i guess it is a sign to get out of and escape the apple hamster wheel .
They have no problem Taking out money for it yet they can’t live up to their end of the bargain. If they don’t have replacements don’t take our money for the insurance!

the current situation is that ive more than paid for a replacement on the phone i currently have on the same applecare plan. im not expecting special treatment, i just want a timely replacement using whatever strategy makes sense.

-use overnight shipping.

-do a mail back where i send my phone after i get my replacement

-if the device -must- go back first, give a loaner device.

-set a value per device that defines some number of months of applecare that yields a non/diagnostic requirement for a replacement.

hell id happily pay a $150 fee for any one of those options, if it meant i got a device in my hands faster

theres no need to act like there arent any solutions halfway between where we are and where we expect to be. unless you have skin in the game or something?

good advice on how to kill a phone!

i have trashed this phone for weeks!!! i think the sensor is broken or something!

Like I said I don’t know where you’re from but in the USA there’d be a hold for the total price of the device.

If you’d requested the replacement first thing in the morning then you can expect to receive it by next day. You’d have 10 days to return the faulty device and would only be charged $99+ tax.

Here you’d get your replacement first with a prepaid shipping label so you can send back the faulty one after you receive the replacement.

Maybe it’s done differently in your country but that’s how it is here and I had my 13Pro replaced a couple times cuz the back glass was broken. I’ve always had the replacement the next day and with FedEx maybe the day after but never later than 2 days max.

People criticising you for your valid complaints…it makes no sense.
Some of the things said are of course logical (like saying stock could be low because the product was just launched) but if Apple is charging for a service, they should make sure they can actually provide the solutions they are advertising. Otherwise it is just deceiving.
If there will be no stock for weeks, then don’t charge the service during those weeks. Give the user a prorated refund or something. Otherwise…we are paying for nothing and giving Apple haters an excuse to keep crapping on it, lol.

I don't even know this could happened! I always get repair instead of replacement.

Yep. That's pretty sh it.
Simple solution though. Apple owes you a replacement AND a loaner if they can't get you one in a reasonable timeframe. If they won't give you one, go to your local Apple Store, buy a new iPhone with AppleCare+, and return it (cancel AppleCare+) within 14 days once you receive your replacement. If your replacement takes more than 14 days just rinse and repeat.

And I suspect Apple deliberately calibrate their software to keep the percentage number right above 81 for as long as possible until the battery physically just can’t do anything anymore, then it drops right below 80. Apple wants to save costs on customers replacing their phone batteries too, and they earn more if customer just upgrade their iPhone instead.

quite the conspiracy theory!

I dropped my 15 Pro
max at least ten to twelve times on concrete without a case and it didn’t have a scratch on it - until I was working on a tire and used the flashlight on the iPhone to set the jackstand in place then forgot before lowering the car on it. Definitely an accident no case would have protected anyways. I don’t see the value in cases and hate the screen protectors. The screen protectors always make it seem like the phone is cheap and the display is farther away from what I am touching.

Go commando! Especially if you’re buying AppleCare+.
I don’t believe you’ve had 12 drops onto concrete case-less without even a scratch. You would be incredibly lucky if that were the case. I’ve witnessed a few accidents with iPhones over the last couple of years and have been shocked just how much damage occurs from the smallest of drops onto stone and concrete surfaces. Sure, some are lucky with how the phone lands on occasion, but to have dropped yours 10-12 times without damage is defying the laws of averages on an extreme scale.

I prefer a case, makes the phone grippier and much nicer to hold and use. AppleCare costs a similar amount to insuring my car, so no thanks.

Express Replacement is a contractual obligation as part of AppleCare+

Apple needs to be able fulfill their obligations, and customers should expect to get what they pay for. If they can’t, then they need to refine their supply chain processes. It’s not ok to stiff customers because they are more concerned with net new sales than with service.
There’s no service level mentioned so legally they’re adhering to the contract.

You said Apple Care is now a joke and it’s time to get off the hamster wheel. If you don’t like the service and don’t want to wait, then backup your words with actions. Either you meant what you said or you just created a thread with a lot of words you didn’t mean.
Heb is clearly just reconsidering his relationship with apple after a bad experience and shares it on a forum about apple, “calling him out” and forcing him in your childish black an white thinking is ridiculous.

You don’t have to believe me. It’s the titanium which allows the iPhones Pro to be so durable. You can prefer a case, it’s your choice. I just want it to be naked. And there’s no car insurance available for $10 per month. LOL

This is the only explanation that makes sense. I had my iPhone 14 replaced the same day. Maybe it’s time to step off the Apple hamster wheel and try Samsung? Let me know how their express replacement goes. If it’s anything like what my friend had to go through, you’ll be back to the Apple hamster wheel.
Lol dealing with assurant/assurion is a nightmare. Apple controlling its own insurance blows away all of its competition.
