I can understand the frustration of not being able to get it replaced right away.
But why does everyone keep saying they’d had every iPhone since 3G?

That statement might add some weight in an Apple Store with a manager but why does it get thrown around in every post with a gripe?
Lmao seriously. Welcome to the club, we’ve all had iPhones or macs for 15+ years 😂

This is the only explanation that makes sense. I had my iPhone 14 replaced the same day. Maybe it’s time to step off the Apple hamster wheel and try Samsung? Let me know how their express replacement goes. If it’s anything like what my friend had to go through, you’ll be back to the Apple hamster wheel.
Samsung’s warranty plans are deplorable. It was so bad that it makes Assurant look like a steal. My girlfriend explored the option, but the cost is higher than AppleCare and you have to pay more out of pocket too. It’s like they don’t want you to use their service.

generally, thats how insurance companies operate.

Recieved my iphone 16 plus- on oct 8 my iphone slipped out of my pocket while on my harley- opened express replacement on line as when i went to store - no replacements in stock. So have not recieved express replacement yet, and today they tell me another 8-14 days - lol.
I was willing to get a black replacement instead of my blue but apple will not do as you have to swap same for same .
I have used applecare + before and always recieved in 3 days or less.
This is a joke and applecare+ is now a joke - apple has certainly deteriorated as a company and i have had every iphone since 2007.
Well i guess it is a sign to get out of and escape the apple hamster wheel .
Day 3 with my 16Pro I somehow got the worst single scratch I've ever seen on an iPhone screen. Like extremely deep, four inches long, just impossible not to notice or feel when running a finger across the screen. Brought it by the store and they said I needed to crack not scratch the screen before they'd replace it. Really annoying. But figure I'll wait until they do in store repairs on the 16 series and just crush the thing myself, as stupid as that sounds!

I have never signed up for apple care as I do not see any good value in it for me.
Exactly. I could have spent $50,000 in my lifetime on extended warranties for my electronics, appliances, and vehicles. Never spent a dime on them, my real replacement cost has been under $1,000. I'm coming out way ahead on this.

Do u work for apple ? Lol
I have been a iphone user since day 1
2007- know all about apple deteriorating in every way
Like i said - ballon will pop someday
I the meantime tim gets another bonus- lol

I did say the customer service was not like 2000’s-2010’s that does not mean its amazing, customer service overall was better in those times.

There might be slight differences with US probably, but any country in europe has roughly the same experience.

Just recently a friend send something from samsung, took a month to repair, came back with broken screen, send it again, waited another month then they blamed him for the damage.

Apple might be picky on damages to the phone prior to the repair, thats true, but they dont pull out stuff like that, and make up to it if this happens.

They also took one of my macs with the oleophobic screen issue way past the time they advertised they would be repairing it. now, could they have made the screen good in the first place, of course, but they made up for it.

So to clarify, apples customer service is not perfect and has a lot of flaws, but when most of the other companies have even more they set a really low standard so apple stands out.

A new phone that is still in demand. Where do you want them to get your magical replacement? From a customer waiting for delivery?

I had a friend whose iPhone got damaged in the first week. Since they didn’t have any replacement devices to give her, they gave her a loaner phone until they were able to provide her with a replacement. This was through her local Apple Store.

She returned the loaner phone when she picked up her replacement device under AppleCare+.

quite the conspiracy theory!
No conspiracy. That’s why they implemented the 80% charge rate in iOS 18. To drag out the life of the battery, so they have fewer battery warranty replacements. That setting was put in for Apple’s benefit, not yours.

Because obviously Apple will not comment on that otherwise. When I got my Apple Watch Series 4 replaced, the technician in Genius Bar ran tests several times, each time they got battery health percentage at 82%, despite visible rapid battery degradation That even the tech can see with their own eyes during their test. My watch was replaced eventually with a modest fee, but that battery’s reported health should’ve been below 70% to begin with.

Isolated case? Maybe. But I’m definitely not alone.

Just my 2c re Apple service and AppleCare+

Went into my local store (Australia) yesterday and told them of an issue I was having with camera control on my 16PM not opening the camera on a single click (despite being set to), plus another issue I was having with one of my cards flat out refusing to add to the wallet, despite it being fine on all other devices.

They agreed to swap it out on the spot for a brand new one sealed in a retail box..got home and decided to set it up as a new phone (what a pain in the ass that is, after using backups on new phones for the past 14yrs..) and seems to be working perfectly.

Really quite snappy too. I suspect all the years of backups had introduced some minor ‘gremlins’ (for lack of a better word) along the way.

Got rid of a lot of old superfluous apps along the way as well

To top it off, my series 7 SS watch (still under AC+ as well) decided to drop below 80% battery health tonight, so I contacted live chat and asked them if I could pay the $99 express replacement fee (which the support app gave me as an option), and the consultant came back and advised there is no fee, just a hold on my cars for $1049 which is refunded once the old watch is sent in..

And the cherry on the cake…they’re sending me a brand new series 10 titanium…so yeah, I’m very impressed with AC+

Although I understand that other people’s experience may be different, in some cases, very different.
