Huge fan, but I give them 8/10:

-1 because the battery pane comes up maybe one time in two

-1 because the double-tap works maybe four times in five

But the design and convenience are superb. Fit is perfect for me -- they fell out once when I took my hoodie off and I knocked one out. Battery is superb: just not a concern. Sound is perfectly good for my needs: spoken podcasts 90% of the time. Connectivity excellent. Range very good.

I personally don't think they look stupid. I don't care if you do: that's your problem not mine.

How exactly do these guys get access to who has bought AirPods ? I bought mine from apple direct. Do people opt into these survey companies?

Good thing loads on here said they were ugly and looked ridiculous and they're not going to buy them.
Yet months later after release they are still almost as hard to find as the Dodo bird.

Well notice the chart doesn't include actual design. :p

But I seen them on users, and they don't look that bad. Still don't favor the design though.

AirPods actually went on sale December 19, 2016. I know because I was in line to get them and have been a fan ever since.

How is that different from any other new apple product ? Even the ones considered flops take months to became available , and costing so much more .

It's my favourite apple product of recent times . Well designed , extremely convenient , and for me the perfect gym headphone . Those are the pros. It's also probably the worst sounding headphone I have , though I knew it would sound like EarPods when I bought it.

Only issue I've found that is does not always charge , I think it might be related to giving the case a clean, will try it.

For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and to lose his soul?
Tim Cook ?

they might be good but totally not needed. should've just kept the 3.5mm jack. i don't care how good they are. iphones are expensive as it is and now i need to buy new head/earphones just because apple want to make a thinner phone?

Tim Cook ?

No the guy who is proud he made a lousy couple of grand scalping Airpods. Thanks for playing though.

They still look ugly and ridiculous, doesn't mean they're not functional. I'm gonna wait it out for v2 (hopefully in black). ;)

Not true. They're an outstanding option if you prefer not dealing with wires. After using mine for a couple months I'd never go back, especially for casual listening and for phone conversations - they excel for both situations.

No, you don't. For headphones, just use the small adapter that comes with the phone in the box with the headphones you currently own - need an extra adapter, they're $9. For earphones, use the EarPods that come with the phone, also in the box.

Anybody notice that the survey appears not to have assessed core functions, like how good the AirPods' acoustics are, or how well they do with phone calls or Siri?

it would get 80% from me if it wouldnt drop calls on my iphone call the freaking time.
It would get 100% if battery was replacable because the product will be ready for the trash bin in 1-2 years.
Now it gets like 60%.

Don't you think "auto connectivity issues" are a deal breaker when you just want to listen to something? What happened to "it just works"?

Some auto connectivity issues. I can't speak for OP, but if he is experiencing the same issues as I am, they are by no means a deal breaker. Sometimes the AirPods can't figure out which device to connect to when I am listening with only one AirPod in and then decide to put the second in. But it self-corrects within 10-15 seconds or so.

All great points here.

I've said this since I first used my AirPods - you gotta try them to see the true benefit. And no, I don't mean trying them in a store. You will surely think "meh." You need to get the full experience. You need to spend a couple days out and about with them, walking, at your desk, talking on the phone, throwing them in your bag, at the coffee shop. That's where they truly shine. I will never go back to having wires hanging from my head.

But they are ugly and the do look ridiculous (douchey is more accurate). I wear mine because they also do sound good for wireless and less hassle than either wired or other wireless headphones. They are great to run with. It's def. function over form here. I understand why they look as they do but I also wish they came in something other than "hey look at me in my AirPods" white.

Also I don't see anything in the complaint section about control options. That is the one big improvement AirPods need -- more control abilities.

They are hard to find still because of manufacturing problems, not monster demand. If Apple was pumping out even a quarter of the number of iPhones it makes in a day they'd be sitting on shelves -- not because they are not good but because demand would be satisfied.

I just got mine the other day - was happy to see how well they work with my S8+. These are fantastic headphones, and they don't budge when I go jogging with them.

Exactly. And that post is a prime example of why the results of the survey are what they are. As another poster put it, these were largely purchased by die hard Apple fans who have a willingness to overlook basic features that don't work 100% of the time.

For $200, the sound should be amazing, the fit should be amazing and there should be no "auto connectivity issues".

Airpods are awesome. I was initially skeptical. They are great though. I ultimately sold mine but more because I am slowly moving away from Apple hardware.
