I'll give you an honest review.
First, I like them. A lot. There's something great about pulling out the zippo lighter sized case and flipping it open and having your headphones ready. There's no wires to untangle or plug in. The pairing is most of the time very zippy. I've had some issues when switching to the phone for a phone call where it wouldn't connect when I wanted them to. But I also switch them between my computer and phone pretty often.
One of my pet peeves is that when I switch it over to macOS Sierra, the microphone is enabled on the AirPods which significantly diminishes audio quality. I'm not sure if this is a bug in macOS or the AirPods, but it definitely needs to be fixed. Even if it's something like, don't switch to the AirPods as a microphone source unless you queue Siri or something to that effect.
The other issue is that if I start iOS Simulator, the AirPods get into an annoying loop and iTunes or other audio playback gets stuck. I think this is a glitch in the development environment as I've had sound artifact problems before, but not this bad. The solution is to go into the Sound settings and switch to another output and back again to AirPods a few times, or shut down iTunes and start it back up. Blegh.
They fit great. The only time they fall out is if I take my shirt off with them in which is not often. They are like regular EarPods which are not a great fit for my ear. I wish Apple offered custom molding or some way to change the size of the tip to fit more ears. Battery life is amazing. I've never worried about running out of juice. If you are on the phone a lot, you can just put one in while the other remains charged and then flip them to double the life of the set. I still don't know how you'd go through the AirPod and case battery in one day.
So yes, I think I would say I'm nearly 100% happy with them. If you're using them on just your iPhone you will have a wonderful time.
Nearly perfect? I think so. I think Apple could do a little bit more to make them perfect. Easier and faster volume control would be awesome. Ambient mics with automatic volume correction would be great. Things like that.
