Right, I just was pointing out the obvious that Apple charges a premium for the products, but no one is forcing anyone to purchase them if you don’t want to. So why make frivolous ‘Theft’ complaints about it.
It’s like using the term highway robbery when one feels something is overpriced.

$200? Cook has made too many trips to Colorado.

More like too many hits off the crack pipe. :D

Wait, I thought this was on sale already. I guess a piece of plastic, a wire and a coil must be hard to manufacture.

I have wireless charger but i find lightening charger is better. It charges mine like 75 percent approx 30 to 45 mins.
The wireless charger is more for convenience, not speed. Everyone needs to realize that. Same goes for any other OEMS, same case. Cable charging is faster compared to wireless, always.

I will pay £99 tops, anything more then that is stupid.
Like others in here have said this product downs affect Apple bottom line regardless so it should be used as a way to get people excited again about iPhones.

Going to be waaay overpriced. Also, kind of ugly.

Overpriced, likely. But does the consumer really care about aesthetics when it comes to a wireless charging unit? All they care about is functionality, not that it matches with their IKEA desk.

No other company makes a product comparable to AirPower, so Apple isn’t “late to the game.” And I imagine it didn’t ship with the iPhone 8/X because it isn’t ready yet.

While no other company makes a product that is directly comparable to AirPower, Apple is “late to the game” in wireless charging as a whole. This isn't a criticism of Apple, they choose to not include wireless charging in the iPhone until last year.

Given that the iPhone 8/X ship in late '17, Apple could have had the AirPower ready to ship then. Why was it not ready then? Manufacturing problem? the project was behind schedule?

I got a Qi compatible wireless charger for my iPhone X for Christmas. $20. No, won't be buying this

I'm thinking it might be around $150.....Airpods & Apple TV are both under the $200 price point, I can't see the charging mat being more than those (although as others have noted, it's apple, so I could be wrong :)

Probably would have bought this if it was available at the launch of the X but since it wasn’t I picked up the Mophie wireless base which works perfectly fine at 7.5W.

I mentioned that prior, that if Apple had the Airpower ready by the launch of the iPhone 8/X and the series 3 Apple Watch, it would be more tempting around the holiday season for consumers. I don’t know the reason why it’s taking them so long to launch the AirPower, but if they keep the price point reasonable, I think it will do really well for those who have the compatible products. I think the biggest disadvantage for the AirPower will be the price If it’s anywhere near $200, which to me is way too much for a wireless charging unit.

Of course. That’s my point. I don’t care about convenience, but speed charging.

Does anyone else make a competing product that does what the AirPower is supposed to do? A charging mat that supports an iPhone 8/X, AirPods (using the wireless case), and an Apple Watch all at once? And works no matter where or in what order you place the items on the mat relative to the other items?

Apple is definitely not in a rush to get this product to market. Strange that they'd announce it so soon if it wasn't yet ready.... 7 months is a long time to finish up this type of product.

Announced by Apple in September, AirPower is an oval-shaped white charging mat featuring Qi-compatible networking technology that will allow it to charge multiple devices at once. Along with an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, or iPhone X, and the Apple Watch Series 3, the AirPower charges AirPods thanks to a new wireless charging AirPods case that's also set to be released sometime soon.

This alone will be something I'd want, if only to lessen the amount of plugs I need to change 3 devices… now it will be all using 1 single charging cable for this device. Even a dock I have for iPhone, Watch, and AirPods requires 2 separate charging cables, each plugged into power separately.

The only reason for me to get the airpower is the ability to charge both my iPhone and my watch at the same time next to my bed. Easier than the watch charger cable. But I've recently bought a new charger for the bed that props up my phone (airpower doesn't do that), and I have the series 2, I don't see the need.

I may look for some stand for my watch to make it easier to charge.
