Which is something to consider. The Xbox offer, however, only requires that you purchase a Windows computer priced at $699 or higher, which has a net result of about $500 total cost. And who couldn't use a new computer and Xbox for only $500, even if it is Windows.![]()
Windows are still used by the majority of the population. I'm even typing this reply on a windows XP computer and my windows 7 laptop is in the other room.
Apple products are good like iphones and ipod touches but when it comes to computers, windows still blow Apple macintoshs away.

in terms of numbers used? yes
but in terms of quality/function/ease of use? hahahaha
Don't flame this thread with Mac vs PC comments. People have their own preferences. By the way, all experienced Mac users I know love their Macs, and we simply cannot live with a PC.
It depends, there are various windows computer that fall below mac standards and their are gaming ones that just cant be compared to (alienware)
No i was responding in regard to a free x box(4GB) with windows 7 purchase 699 and up.
Having a gaming machine and a computer is the better deal, even with educational discount a PC/xbox deal will be at least a couple hundred less than mac and ipod touch deal.

There is a net result of about $500 if you sell the X-Box.
Huh? There is a net result of about $500 if you sell the X-Box.
Saying "who couldn't use a new computer and Xbox for only $500" says that you pay $500, and you receive a Xbox and Windows computer.
You pay 700 for a windows computer and a xbox. You cant pay 500 and get both. The 500 only comes up if you sell the xbox and taking only the computer.
Edit: didnt see that you were saying what i just said haha. my bad
Will they release this before Lion is released? If so, would it be better to wait for Lion?
I would think they would release this promo before the holiday weekend to entice all the people who will be shopping this weekend.
It will likely come out next year. And they wouldn't. Just like how they release the new iPods this fall after the promo, they'll update their computers and release Lion after all the promos so people can spend more money. It's basic business.
