No, it was a good time to sell because I had a good friend lined up to buy it... And I still have my girlfriend's MacBook that I can use for the time being, but I do miss having my own computer.
I've been waiting sooo long! and the windows computer im using is getting worse with each month of use (8 years of use). It takes 5 minutes to get to the desktop, and another 3 or so minutes to open up firefox! Oh, and 10 minutes to shut down.
come on apple, make it Tuesday and put us out of our Windows misery.

I wanna buy MBP with SSD, I want Apple to install MacOSX to SSD and then I want to replace Optical Drive to HHD (1TB 7200). But a lot of people buying HDD and then they're buying SSD to replace OpticalDrive.
What do you think is better for MBP 17?
Its much cheaper to order your mbp with a hard drive and then replace the optical drive with an ssd.
So a highschool student can't buy a mac and get a free iPod Touch? Is it just college aged students? My son is 16, a Sophomore in High School, and my husband and I would like to get him a Macbook. He also doesn't have a iPod Touch. We think this back to school promotion is perfect for us. When does it start, and are we eligible? Thanks.
iirc parents of highschool students are eligible if they are buying for their kid, but the high school students themselves are not if they buy for themselves

Did you ever format your PC?? I formatted my 7-year-old one two times and it helped, though the second time it wasn't as effective as the first one and my laptop remained working very slowly and freezing up from time to time. Still, it never got to be as slow as yours. I guess mine can still load up in a fairly normal time.
But why am I discussing this anyway? In a couple of days we'll be the proud owners of brand new MBP laptops

FWIW, I was in the Apple Store in Philly today and got an iPad, asked about a BTS promo and the girl said it started June 1st... maybe it's worth asking someone at the store?

would this be a good time to buy a macbook pro? when the new OSX (lion i think it will be called) gets released (I heard around september perhaps) will that mean the current macbook pros will be outdated or does it qualify for some sort of upgrade? (i am assuming lion is an upgrade of snow leopard but i could be wrong)

So from the conference is tomorrow and Steve is supposed to announce the student bts deal. So if he dose announce it dose that the promo starts tomorrow, or will it take a bit for it to become in effect? How was it last year did it go into effect immediately after he announced it?

Yes you can. I'm guessing you're referring to zeppelindude93 post. What they refer to is a banner that says "Last Call for Apple Education Pricing" - this is aimed at University students who are just about to graduate and has been up for weeks - meaning last chance for them to benefit from educational discounts, not that education pricing is about to be stopped.
