I'm 99% sure that B2S will start next Tuesday (the 14th). There have been reports of store managers receiving new visuals (signs) to be opened tomorrow and the 14th. Tomorrow is guaranteed to be for everything/something announced today at the keynote. Nothing is scheduled for release until July (Lion) or later, which leaves B2S as the subject of the visuals to go up on the 14th. To corroborate, my school's campus computer store told me they heard they'd get an Apple announcement the week of the 13th. With Lion slated for next month, and iOS and the rest of iCloud later this year, all I can think of for next week is B2S must be starting. Plus, really, what other than B2S is Apple going to contact a University storefront about?? I'll be setting my alarm early on the 14th to be first in line.![]()
Ouch! Are you still in line;-)
Frankly, I figured out how I'm going to make up the lost $225 from the iPod I didn't get or the $100 iTunes App Store credit I didn't get. I'm just going to start my own website called "Mac Things That Could or Could Not Happen In the Next Few Days" and I'll have people like you and me log on to the site several times a day and be subjected to advertisements in the side bar from my sponsors. This ploy seems to work well for 9to5 Mac:

http://www.9to5mac.com/70490/apple-to-release-mac-os-x-lion-on-june-14th/
Then again, maybe I'll just use Twitter like ChronicWire:
LEAK: Apple Store displays will be updated Tuesday night for the Back To School promo, starting Wednesday, alongside the new MacBook Airs.
LEAK: Apple's BTS promotion slightly delayed, not starting Wednesday. Also, sources have confirmed the $100 iTunes gift card rumor is true.
Seriously, when have you EVER heard of an Apple event/release being "slightly delayed" at the last minute? I always thought they were more professional than that.
Anyways, I'm looking for a few reliable/unreliable "sources" to help me start up my website. You don't really have to know anything about computers/Apple at all, you just need to be able to make up rumors on a consistent basis. Creativity and imagination are a must. In addition, if you can throw the words "top secret", "guy at the Apple Store" or "online sales rep" into your rumors I will consider you as a prime candidate for the job. If you're interested in becoming part of this team, just shoot me a reply. Also, if you think you have some additional qualifications that you think would help your chances of landing one of these coveted positions, please list them.

I was actually told by an apple rep that the BTS for 2011 won't be starting until august. Instead of an ipod or an itunes gift card, you will be given one minute in the apple store. You can keep everything you can balance on two iTouch-es - one in each hand. You will not be able to keep the balancing touches, however you could try and stack some on top. Its been said that people who buy 17 Macbook Pros Or iMacs may be upgraded to iPads for balancing purposes, but this is not confirmed.

But if that is the case and they have indeed discontinued the promo, do you think that they would be courteous enough to announce it publicly in stead of just letting us realize it on our own?? I don't know what to think... :/
You're right about that, but I still think that it would be 'unfair' to us that they did so. That would sure piss many people off!!A company is not going to make an announcement regarding NOT running a promotion that they have never promised to run in the first place - that's a rather negative announcement in marketing terms.Sylphadora said:But if that is the case and they have indeed discontinued the promo, do you think that they would be courteous enough to announce it publicly in stead of just letting us realize it on our own?? Lol, I hope they haven't discontinued the promoMy PC is at death's door. Today it has turned off by itself two times
I suppose I could get by using my mum's laptop, but damn, that would be so irksome!!
for me, an itunes credit would totally suck. being forced to buy overpriced itunes from them is unfair. why not at least a credit to apply to anything apple sells (though you are still forced to spend it in their store).
The promo is on, will start likely tomorrow, and is a 100 itunes credit. How I know that posted here: https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=12763689#post12763689
I hope this is FINALLY true and it's not just somebody having fun with PhotoshopYup I will confirm that with some photographic evidence: https://www.macrumors.com/2011/06/1...t-tomorrow-100-app-store-gift-card-confirmed/
