Apples cancels order??

Been seeing a lot of cancels on family plans with more then one phone ordered. Could be each account is limited to a single upgrade. Saw a policy quote around here on another thread that leaned in that direction.
I preordered ONE iPhone for my ONE line of service I have with AT&T from Apple site @ 1:36PM. My bill was due on the 18th... Which I paid on the 18th... Today I see my iPhone cancelled... Apple said cause AT&T cancelled my order cause I ordered FIVE.. Called AT&T they had no clue why... Called apple back... They said it WAS NOT because I ordered five... He couldn't tell me why... But AT&T cancelled and nothing they could do. And my charge is still pending.
What a load of crap!
And I got TWO emails from apple saying order was cancelled.
If your bill was due on the 15th and you paid today then your account was past due!
Why would you pre-order a phone on the 15th when your bill is due on the 15th then wonder why your order got canceled when you decided to pay your bill 4 days after the due date.
Bum deal though.
Looks like ATT way over sold the phone and they just screen out any multiple order and cancel it, regardless your are eligible or not. Just my assumption.

I would assume this is the same for Apple's pre-orders.
From the looks of this, if you have 5 phones on a family plan, and they are all eligible, then you can order 5 iPhones.
Well, both orders went through after eligibility was checked. I think there is just another massive screw up underway.

Ok. Both my phones switched to prepared for shipment. I am on family plan, both lines were eligible for upgrade. My line upgraded to 3GS last year, my wife never upgraded and kept her 3G. AT&T bill is paid automatically from checking acct. So family plans ordering more than one phone isn't the reason for theses cancellations.
If you think this is bad, wait until the activation problem threads start up on delivery day.

We are pleased to inform you that your iPhone has shipped. Please check below for your confirmed delivery date. If you ordered more than one item, they may ship separately.

On top of that, it shows delivery by June 23rd. ???
This is great, however, I have another order for another iphone upgrade on my account. That still shows "prepared for shipment." Let's hope this one doesn't get cancelled!

This is EXACTLY what happened to me. The weird "the system says you ordered 5 excuse" from Apple, only to have AT&T say that never happened.
