My status went from "not shipped" to "preparing to ship". I was happy! Now it went back to "not yet shipped". This has happened 2x tonight. Very frustrating...

Anyone else had this happen?
 
This is EXACTLY what happened to me. The weird "the system says you ordered 5 excuse" from Apple, only to have AT&T say that never happened.

Well... The lady with AT&T was cool and she called apple for me... And verified everything but like i said... Apple was very unhelpful and basically said I'm sol and to reorder... I have a friend who works at AT&T and I'm going in to her store tomorrow & she's gonna call apple and try to get my order reinstated... But I'm not holding my breath! :mad: I just find it weird that you and I had the same problem... As well as plenty of other people. Not cool apple!!!!!! Not cool!!!
 
Cool. I've seen u go from kinda worried to optimistic. You'll get your shipping notice soon.

Alright I actually ordered 5. 1 has canceled 3 are going back and forth and 1 is
Prepped to ship and I have a CSS update frpm AT&T in my account page.
I just want the other 3 to make some $$

Att was the one who told me to go ahead and order with Apple that day on the 15th,because they couldn't find the order i had placed at 5am and didn't think it had gone through so i ordered with Apple,then the next day i get email from att saying it had gone through so i called them and canceled it,i get my Apple order canceled today they say maybe because Att hadn't updated their cancellation yet? i called Att and they said it had been updated i never got terms email from apple either only acknowledgment email i called att and boy i let them have it they told me to order with apple because they couldn't find my order and didn't think it had gone through! Apple had better fix this and reverse the cancellation,i am disabled and in a wheelchair and am very ill the nearest apple store is 100 miles away and i am in no condition to wait in line.By god they better fix this!!!!!
Apple says they can't fix that i will have to do new order and get after 15th!!!!!! said to call att and see if they could fix already tried that,they won't help even though they caused this mess in the first place,told me to call apple,now i have to wait till the 15th when i was gonna get on the 24th no apple store within 100 miles besides i am disabled ,i have been fu...cked by both companies and i am pissed and Apple is doing nothing to fix it:mad:

I had/have the same problem. Ordered twice because the AT&T guy didn't think my order had gone through. So I ordered from Apple and cancelled the AT&T order. Found out today my Apple order was cancelled. I also live very far away from an Apple store. Hoping they reinstate my order but I'm not holding my breath. Both Apple and AT&T said they couldn't help me and to call the other to see what they can do. Everyone knows nothing.
 
So for all you Sherlocks out there trying to figure out what's going on note this-

Spontaenous cancellations have happened to those on various plans, single or multiple orders, both current and past due, and with credit and debits card, and early and late ordering times.

Mine got cancelled too, I'm just as pissed. I'm going tow ait a few days to reorder and give them a chance to fix the problem.
 
so glad im picking mine up in store...this iphone is getting very elusive!

The problem is simply one of excessive demand. This is why Apple has a new disclaimer in the fine print, this year. Reserving for in store pickup is misleading. Read the disclaimer, and we learn that a reservation does _not_ reserve a phone. We are simply added to a list of names. If we want a phone, it's first come, first served. So unless we camp out so we get in the store before they run out, we lose.

After I read that, I decided or preorder.

I would assume this is the same for Apple's pre-orders.

From the looks of this, if you have 5 phones on a family plan, and they are all eligible, then you can order 5 iPhones.
You are Correct.

I ordered upgrades for tw lines on a single FamilyTalk plan and I have received a shipment notification for each iPhone 4. I used the same email address (Apple store ID), same credit card, same billing / shipping address.

They have not really shipped but I have two active tracking numbers since the shipping information was sent to FedEX. So between now and Tuesday they have to start moving from China....:eek:

So people had more phones ordered than they needed, apple didn't sell 600,000 pre orders. There will be plenty of iPhones day one, the demand was impatient people jamming pre order. Thanks, now I haveto wait in line then set up a new account.
 
I ordered mine before 6am EST and recieved a confirmation email... Never recieved any sort of cancellation email so I figured I'd call just to ensure everything was still fine. NOPE. The first associate told me it was cancelled but there was no sort of notations on why, so I asked to speak with her manager. The manager got on the phone and told me that it was because there were too many preorders. I asked her why they are cancelling the accounts that pre-ordered at 6am and she told me there is no rhyme or reason for the cancellations. This is absolutely irritating. I didn't wanna renew my contract with Verizon so I sold my Droid and I'm using a crappy little phone (T9 anyone?) that has no planner, email, web, etc. Which is what I use ALOT of on my phone.
 
So I have 3 walmarts in my area (yea, 3, within 3 miles of my house in different directions) so I decided to give them a call because my Apple Reservation magically cancelled. I asked them what they are going to be doing in regards to the iPhone 4 sales on Thursday and these were the responses I got:

Store #1:
Me: "I am just calling to see how your store was going to be handling the iPhone 4 sales on thursday... Are you going to sell them at midnight, how many are you gonna be getting, whatever you can tell me?"

Associate: "Hold on one moment sir"

Manager picks up the phone: "Sir, I dont have any information regarding the way we will be handling the iPhone but if you give me your name and number I will find out and give you a call back before the day ends."


Store #2:
Me: "I am just calling to see how your store was going to be handling the iPhone 4 sales on thursday... Are you going to sell them at midnight, how many are you gonna be getting, whatever you can tell me?"

Associate: "We are going to be opening our Connection Center at 9am and will sell on a first come, first serve basis. I do not know how many we will be receiving."

WHAT!?!?!?! Walmart is getting them on release day BUT they are getting TWO!? TWO!? oh geeze! Looks like after waking up at 5am EST on the day of preorders just to preorder it I may still be camping out for one. :-(

Went from "Prepared for Shipment" Back to Not Yet Shipped

So last night about 8:30 pm PST my order went to Preapred for Shipment.

yeah.
woot.

Cancel option all greyed out. Looking good!

Maintenance came last night. Then I looked at my order this AM to see if it had moved to shipped.

------back to not yet shipped.
That's a weird one. What did those basdtards do--take it off the truck?
 
That's crap, what they told you. If that were the case, they would just bump the ship date.

Thats what I figured but apparently it was a "system error". Crap if you ask me. I asked her why I am being penalized for THEIR "system error" and she said that she doesn't have any way to control it. :p

One of my orders shipped yesterday. Last night, my wife's phone went from Not Shipped to "Prepared for Shipment". This morning it's back to "Not Shipped". This is frustrating. I did grab a screenshot though in case Apple cancels it.

yesterday they made me reorder it for the ship date of Jul 15th,i called them back today had to hold for 2hrs! and i said why can't you do something about my order you cancelled? you all have screwed me and all the others you canceled and now won't do anything to fix it,he kept saying i am sorry but there is nothing we can do to fix it the system doesn't work that way,i let him know that i didn't like how this was handled at all,that i am disabled and i spent hrs on the 15th to order which was very hard on me,he then said he was sorry again and said he would be right back he was going to try to do something to help me,after a few min's he comes back on and says he can add to my new order coming on Jul 15th a free iphone 4 dock and a free apple remote that i should get those on the 2nd...woo big help i will have an iphone 4 dock but no iphone 4 to use it with till 2 1/2 more weeks...i don't mind free items but if they think this makes up for what they did they have another think coming,i even had one guy yesterday say mam it is just a phone several more weeks wait won't be the end of the world! i said i know it's just a phone that's not the point what is is what i went through to get my order and ya'll messing it up and now won't do anything to fix it....ohhh i am getting more ticked off by the minute:mad:

found out on the 16th it had gone through but needed me to call because they coudn't get cc authorization, even though the day before they couldn't find it and didn't think it had and told me to order with Apple since they were sold out but they couln't charge my card,since i had already ordered with apple i cancelled the order with ATT
