I now have confirmed shipments inbound from both Apple and AT&T, both at subsidized prices charged to my credit cards (I used different ones...one debit, one credit), both on the the same line. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the spare phone yet, likely return it, maybe take a friend in with me during the return who wants to turn around and buy it....not sure how two orders on the same line impacts my account to be honest. But I'll figure that out when I get there.

For now, two orders, two charges, two shipments inbound confirmed....one telephone line.

Clearly their own checks and balances are fubar'd. I should have at least one of these orders cancelled automatically, dont you think?

I should have just left my AT&T order alone. It's sh*tty that by being the good guy and canceling my AT&T order, I got my Apple ordered canceled by Apple.

Number one rule when placing bets.....

Know your absolute maximum loss you can withstand and preserve that above all else. For all other betting....let it ride.

I feel for you buddy....hope you get one eventually.

MY fun story

Here's my story:

I ordered 3 iPhone 4s (1 by accident) on Apple's website on June 15.

I ordered a 16GB for my wife - that one went through no problem and has shipped.

I tried and tried to get my 32gb for me and it appeared i made it through on one order but I got the session timed out error and no confirmation email.

I couldn't use the order status page either as it wouldn't load on June 15.

So I tried again. 10 minutes later I got an order through. Later that night I got 2 confirmation emails and my card was charged twice for the (2) 32 GB phones.

I then cancelled my second order after the order status page came up to avoid any issues - stupid me. Apple cancelled my first one on Saturday morning.

I called Apple and they told me that I had to call ATT to reset eligibility as they got a list from ATT of phone orders to cancel and mine was one of them.

I called ATT today to reset eligibility. They told me mine was cancelled because I ordered two (unbelievable!). They escalated to a manager. I got a phone call back tonight - ATT tells me that they cannot reset my eligibility and that I have to go to an Apple store and have a manager submit an "ESCALATOR FORM" because I ordered from Apple Online and not from ATT.

Off to the Apple Store tonight.

This has been the most frustrating and completely Fubar'd launch of ALL time.

Good luck to everyone who is working on these issues!

Hmm. But I can't imagine the priority will get you in before mid to late july.

This is what my 3 emails from yesterday said:

Dear Customer,

We were unable to complete the authorization process for your iPhone
order. As a result, we had to cancel your iPhone order. To complete the
purchase of your iPhone, please visit an Apple Retail Store or an AT&T
company-owned retail store.

To locate an Apple Retail Store near you, please visit
<http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/>.

We apologize for this inconvenience.

Sincerely,
Apple Online Store Team

Has anyone called Apple and asked about the email?

I got my upgrade eligibility restored tonight in about an hour... I called AT&T explained the whole deal, the lady said that a ton of orders were cancelled. I then had to fax the AT&T ICU department the cancellation email and my order numbers / account numbers (they handle all eligibility and account issues). Within an hour of that I had my fully subsidized upgrade back.

I talked to Apple twice about my canceled order that I found out about Saturday morning when I logged in to check my status before I ever received these emails.

I was talking about this email :

Dear Apple Store Customer,

As we advised in our last communication to you, your recent order for an iPhone 4 was canceled.

We were unable to complete your order due to an issue with your AT&T account status. Please contact AT&T at 800-331-0500 or visit www.att.com/wireless to resolve this issue. You can check your current AT&T account status and eligibility here.

Once this issue is resolved, you can place a new order. When you have completed your order, please email us at applestoreinfo@apple.com with both your previous Web Order Number and your new Web Order Number and we will ensure every effort is made to expedite your shipment.

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused.

For the most up-to-date information on your order, please visit Apple Order Status.

Sincerely,
The Apple Store Team

What did they say about the email? I figured I'd ask here before calling and sitting on hold for a half hour.

I was one of the many that ended up with a $200+tax order open at both AT&T and Apple. Apple finally caught up to me and canceled the order, though my AT&T order is still open. My Apple order never made it to 'prepared for shipment'.

Saved me a bunch of time returning one of the phones.

Ditto. Apple has now cancelled everything from them. My ATT order is on track, last remaining piece is my girlfriend's. ATT says it should be on time, but may be a few days after the 24th.

I hate ATT.

Not 10 minutes ago I got shipping information shown on the AT&T status page, BTW. Mine shipped via UPS, though the tracking number is not yet in their system.

Well, apple cancelled mine too. I'm **** outta luck for Thursday. Incredibly pissed at how this whole situation has been handled. Guess I'll be spending all day on the phone tomorrow with at&t trying to get my eligibility restored...

OMG anyone who's received a CANCELLED ORDER from Apple, read my story.

so I stayed up all night the 15th and was furiously trying to order my black 32 gig iP4 for $299 on Apple.com for hours. everytime i even got close to successful order, the server would crash, i'd get an oops, or it would time out. this went on for hours.
i had multiple windows open, reading the forums here to see if anyone had any tips or was getting through. it hadn't even occurred to me to try ordering through AT&T, but after reading several success stories, i started trying to order through AT&T at the same time--multiple windows open for both Apple and AT&T--sometimes getting a near successful confirmation, but never quite got there...

i gave up at 9 am and tried Apple.com one last time at 12:30 CST, and boom--it went through easy as pie. I eventually got my confirmation email, my CSS email yesterday and today the "let's talk about your iPhone" email. i checked my cc balance and there was a hold for $600 or so and yet i never really questioned that...thought it might have been the iphone plus other stuff i've purchased/ordered.

ever since macrumors reported that apple customers have been seeing their orders being prepared to ship, etc, i've been incessantly checking my order status. i'm talking like 10 times a day. on the 19th my order status went from 'not yet shipped' to 'prepared for shipment' back to 'not yet shipped'.

i started to get worried by all the posts about cancelled orders, etc so i checked it just an hour ago and it said 'cancelled'. i was gutted!
i was nearly in tears. it's 1:30 am here in texas so i couldn't call apple to see wtf was wrong. even the automated system said my order was cancelled.

so i came back here to re-read all the threads about apple cancelling orders and all the different reasons people have been coming up with--apple fudged up, system error, not accepting some agreement, not ticking a box upon ordering, changing shipping address after the fact, ordering more than one phone per person...etc. none of those applied to me so i kept reading and someone said that apple cancelled their order because it was a duplicate-- as in, they had ordered both on apple.com and AT&T but because they never got a confirmation email from AT&T, they never knew.

so immediately i went to check my AT&T account and checked order status and what do you ****ing know?!? i have an iphone 4 32gig black order in progress with a ****ing UPS tracking number!!!!!!!!!!!!! it hasn't shipped yet but says it ships today, the 22nd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so if you got an apple cancellation, go check AT&T!!!! it's worth a try!

My experience mirrors yours--almost exactly! My blood pressure readings might track yours too.

Well my story is similar to yours except I did not order from AT&T (big mistake?) and my order still sitting with 'Not Yet Shipped'

I spent entire night waiting for store to open for pre-orders and another 5 trying to get order through. The one finally made it, is not moving ahead at all even after a week.

My experience mirrors yours--almost exactly! My blood pressure readings might track yours too.

has yours shipped yet??? cuz my tracking number just went live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's in memphis, in transit to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

everyone go check your tracking numbers! iPhones have landed and are being dispersed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all of the legwork I put in to get everything resolved over at AT&T by Sunday evening and an Apple supervisor assuring me last night that I would have my phones on the 24th, Apple has canceled my iPhone orders.

I am disappointed to say the least.

Yes! I allowed myself a small smile--just before going outside, turning around three times and spitting.

Cool, about 30 minutes after e-mailing that email with my old and new order numbers I got this e-mail just now...

We have notated your new Web Order Number and we will ensure every effort is made to expedite your shipment.

Apple just canceled mine.

No warning, no issues, just a thanks, but we have decided to F&#* you today.

So, no iPhone 4 and the dumb iOS4 software update bricked my 3gs.

Way to go Apple. You've blown all the good faith I had with you as a company in 15 hours.

Best thing you can do is call AT&T and tell them what happened, get your upgrade eligibility back (usually takes about an hour) then e-mail the applestoreinfo@apple.com your new and old order numbers... or goto the store and wait in line.

Are we sure this magical email will expedite our orders? The lady at apple I just spoke to told me that she could take a new order for me and would "do our best to expedite it." I honestly don't believe it will happen before the 14th. Prove me wrong and I'll get back on the phone with them, but I don't see it happening.
