I just checked my order. It has been cancelled with no explanation. I checked the terms box, only ordered one. NO idea what is going on but I basically spent the entire day getting that order in the first place. If this doesn't get resolved it will be a serious test of my apple love. I'll consider quitting both apple and AT&T over this. There is a reason we pay a premium and it isn't to get jerked around like this. On hold for 15 minutes so far and haven't spoken to a person yet.

Were you adding a new line or new customer? I still don't see any terms box when I try to do it now... I'm a previous customer upgrading..
 
AT&T preorder fact sheet is inconveniently gone from their website now. Cant find a copy. :mad:
 
It's one per home address. Doesn't contradict me at all. AT&T was clear about this.
i shipped all 3 to my house and i have no problems i have called apple and AT&T about this and they said i wont have any problems at all that my phones will arrive the 24th.

Do all three phones reside on contracts tied to that same address? If so, they can cancel two of them at any point between now and the day they arrive.

Yeah they do. I did the same last year with the 3Gs and had no problem at all. Like i said the reps from both companies told me otherwise so im not worried at all.
 
I ordered two, one by mistake because I didn't get a confirmation email. Hours later I got both confirmed. I've been wondering what would happen and this pm I noted one is prepared for shipping and the other is not yet shipped but not cancelled. The money for one was taken from my account and the hold on the money disappeared from my bank account for the second phone. Looks like they are canceling all the orders for more than one phone. Awaiting the official cancellation...at least I don't have to arrange to send it back..:eek:
 
Man you guys have me worried. I bought 2 iPhones on my family plan, 2 separate orders but same apple ID and credit card. Just checked apple and both say prepared for shipment. Also checked AT&T and both upgrade options aren't available until late 2011 and 2012 so both have gone through.
 
I have one on order with Apple that is Prepared for Shipment, and another that is for my wife's line reserved at Best Buy. Anyone see any issues with us getting both phones considering Best Buy isnt true pre-order, and just reservation?

Your fine bro. Youll get your phones the same as everyone else who's account is up to date. the limit was only for NEW customers AT&T made that clear.

AT&T stores will sell one iPhone 4 per person for new customers, and one device per household for new orders placed online. Existing customers may purchase one per eligible telephone number online or through our stores."

I have two pre-orders, one tied to each of my eligible phone numbers on an existing account. Both are "Prepared for shipment".
 
Go to the store on release day if you want to be guaranteed of getting more than one. Especially if you're a new customer.

No they didn't. They made it clear that it applies to new and existing accounts. How they're arbitrarily choosing to enforce it is anyones guess.

I was upgrading a line on a family plan. I've been on hold for more than 40 minutes now. I'm completely baffled and very angry.

So I called Apple yesterday to check on status... She said everything was good to go... She even changed my shipping address to me and resent my order acknowledgement and it had my updated shipping address! Now.... My order shows CANCELLED WTF? Been on hold for 42 minutes with Apple! My account with AT&T is current... Shows I have a zero balance! If Apple cancelled my order because that lady changed my shipping address I'm going to be pissed!!! I did NOT try for 6 hours non stop to pre order only to have to go and wait in line!!!

THANK YOU! That is how I remembered it, but couldn't find the ATT document online anymore. If they are honoring this, I should be fine. :D

I just checked AT&T's website, my line shows the contract date through 6/17/2012 (as ready to be shipped). My wife's contract is still 07/11/2010 (not shipped). That does not look good. At least she does not seem that upset, she in not as :eek: as I am. What does your AT&T's contract dates say?

Spent 2 hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T to be told that no one has any idea why one of my orders was cancelled and that I was sh*t out of luck and could re-order it and get it in July. :(
 
Blame game

After an hour on hold i finally spoke with an Apple rep. He said that this is a problem for a lot of people, caused by an error with AT&T's system that accidentally recorded my one Iphone purchase through apple as 5 iphone purchases. According to him AT&T then cancelled all purchases but didn't reset my upgrade eligibility, thus I would have to call AT&T to get it reset. I got through to AT&T after no more than 2 minutes. Their rep informed me that apple had checked my upgrade eligibility 4 times but that it was good each time and, here is the best part, still good right now. Therefore I would have to call APple back to try to place my order again. Now, the apple guy said that all of our sales numbers were being kept, that this was "going to corporate" and that we (those affected) should be able to get the iphone still on the 24th. After another 40 minutes on hold I just got through to the apple rep. I have my doubts. Let's see how this goes.
