I will be forced to upgrade next year then #NOTCHLESSTOUCHIDSUNITE

Wouldn’t it be „cheaper“ for them to just implement what they already came up with for the iPad Air 4 on the iPhone? The button already got bigger!
That could work, but I think it might have to do with iphone cases that cover the power button.
In the age of masks. I REALLY miss touch id. Such a hassle right now.
love to say... WE TOLD YOU SO!

Really? Think the UK needs to enforce your rules...maybe if they did our country wouldn’t be such a bad mess. Got idiots still having house parties of 30 people
Well, in the UK ministers travel cross country and break there own rules, nobody seems to care. We had a lockdown here (not what you call a lockdown in the uk) and that meant to stay home. EVERYONE. Not like, but I have to go jogging, I just want to visit my sister, I HAVE to go on holidays, but the pub is now private so we can drink there, its a church, no problem ect. No. Lockdown. Armed police on the street and you where allowed to go shopping with a pass you got on the internet, with your ID in a prearranged shop, 20mins. But they prefered delivery. Our numbers went to practically 0. But then the powers to be decided, that we need tourists and now we are looking at the next lockdown. Already curfew from 10-7, we are not allowed to leave town, strikt controls but it might get worse again.

I know, that's why our company has a secure pass code. 4 digits my son could crack, 6 digits my grand son.
No they can't. You only get limited tries, and there is a delay between each try, it has to be done on-device etc. Your family is in no particular position to do any of that.

Why you need to enter Passcode standing under security camera or someone looking over or leaning on your shoulders !
Just enter it more discreetly. Same problem in basically any other situation.

Given that Apple and Qualcomm have settled their disagreements, I wouldn't be surprised that the 2021 iPhone will use an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor developed by Qualcomm. That along with the more power-efficient Snapdragon X60 radio modem chip.

If your biggest hassle right now is entering your PIN, then you are either extremely fortunate, entitled, or being hyperbolic... or need to reconsider your PIN.
I have a long (greater than 10 character) PIN and it takes me all of maybe 500ms to type it in. I will even round the whole process up to 1s to include the time for FaceID to switch to PIN mode.

I really hope they don’t use a Qualcomm ultrasonic sensor. I’ve got two Samsung devices with those ultrasonic fingerprint readers, a Galaxy S10+ phone and a Galaxy Tab S7+ tablet, and both readers are terrible. More often than not, I get “No Match” five times in a row, forcing me to use my PIN code. I even record my finger multiple times as a kluge, but that doesn’t seem to improve recognition. What good are biometrics when they force you to use your PIN about 90% of the time? Note that Samsung’s facial recognition and location unlock don’t work either.

As long as folks are wearing masks in stores and Apple's using FaceID only, people can't use ApplePay for purchases. I bet they're wishing they'd put fingerprint in earlier.
I use it everyday, I just use my code

The next iPhone will have the super efficient X60. I think the possibility of the Gen 2 Sonic Sensor could be a real possibility. Price per unit will be the issue on this one.

Two reports now saying it will be ultrasonic guess will see how it goes as this is a more secure way

There were people saying fingerprint will never come back awhile ago after faceid. Want to say that again? Lol.

You can wait another 5 years for all of that.

You might be right. Four to five years is about average for how long it took Apple to finally adopt phablet sized phones, precision pen, OLED, etc. Universal USB-C charging on iPhone should be coming this year or next.
