Proves my point that these presstitutes (press + prostitutes) will praise whatever crap Apple dishes out.

Just look at that thing. How can you praise it in any way?

Is anyone praising it? It seems to me that most people are giving it a propper critique? Everyone, including The Verge is pretty much butchering it's looks and design but give it plusses for the visual integration within iOS and the fact that it's by far the slimmest option currently available and the only that actually supports Lightning for charging and docking while you got the case around your phone.

Whoa! Fugly! when I need one for travel, Phonesuit has a been my favorite choice and it's cheaper and tougher slim case, external smart battery meter, active control and with a battery with more capacity - 2200mAh vs. Apple's 1877mAh --- this is a joke Apple.

This has single handedly forced my purchase of a Mophie. I just can't go with my phone looking like that. Every single thing about it is absolutely wrong. Looking at it makes me feel really strange - like it reminds me of a fever dream I had once or something - I can't explain it. Looking at this actually makes me feel like I'm sick.

Apple's offering for customers that insist on getting everything from Apple - without angering the important third-party accessory community (because 0% of the people who have seen a Morphie battery case are going to buy this thing). Thought the same thing about Apple's cases.

i think the problem is simple: addicted to apps like Facebook and instagram, make a lot of voice calls? you're a power user, whether you think so or not.

I have hard time thinking of anyone who spends a lot of time on Facebook as a "power user." Perhaps "power loser"?

... It also has an extra cell antenna built in...

In the past, passive antennae have had mixed success, boosting signals detectably, but marginally, in some orientations and attenuating them in others. Now if the antenna was active, there was a GPS chip that offered longer battery life, and the case protected the phone better, then I might have been interested. As it is, I am waiting for somebody to say 'April Fool's'.

Coming Soon. The New iPhone 7.

gSHnG6V.png

Dear Apple - you've begun the trend of offering the user "choice" - there are now 3 different sized iPads to choose from, 2 different sized iPhones to choose from, 5 different sized MacBooks to choose from, 2 different sized iMacs to choose from, and large amount of older products (iPhones and iPads) to choose from if you want a more affordable option.

With the iPhone 7 offer us the CHOICE of a thicker iPhone that's all about incredible battery life, or the regular ultra thin model. It's not that hard. THIS can't be Apple's solution...It just can't be.

They don't offer any two devices with only thickness being the difference. That'd be a horrible idea.

I still don't understand why they couldn't have "filled in" the shallow area with tapered silicone... It would have still been flexible enough to move and bend, and they could have placed the apple logo in its appropriate spot, even cram in a different feature, like an antenna amplifier, or powered stereo speakers. Something other than an antenna that works around the battery to avoid diminished reception, and an indicator light that's mounted internally.

The case seems unfinished.

The memo probably read, "F@$& it. The holidays are here. Just package it. We need to wait and finish it next year. The execs want our bonuses."

The year of ugliness. Omg! Kill it kill it. But seriously, let's face it, we are all waiting for Ive's take on this.

apparently according to CNET, like many other battery cases it makes the headphone jack inaccessible, however unlike mophie or phonesuit or others, Apple's case does NOT come with an adapter for $99, that is EXTRA! LOL!

I won't judge the looks. In fact the shape in my mind seems like it would actually have some good ergonomic qualities.

I'm not really in the market for such a device as a day to day item, but I can see how it could come in handy.

Though I think quick charging would be more useful

I actually think it looks kind of cool. I'm digging the minimalistic/utilitarian look. The only thing that bugs me is the color and finish of it. It looks very similar to the iPad smart covers.

The design is very literal. I like that you can significantly increase your battery with this thing, although it's still significantly thinner than other battery cases on the market. It might look a little quirky, but it seems very practical and comfortable to hold.

Similar to the iPad Pro smart keyboard, it's not the flashiest design, although it's very simple, practical, as well as very light and thin.

Hah true. But this design is bad. Everything here is bad, lol.
It's not going to win any beauty contests for sure but I think most of the reactions are over-the-top. It's an optional accessory that most people aren't going to buy. And according to Joanna Stern at the WSJ (certainly no Apple fan girl) it's nicer to hold in the hand than other battery cases.

Everything about The Verge is an embarrassment. I guess this will tide the outrage crowd over for the holidays...

I agree with you that the Verge has become a hot mess, however, are they not as unflappable as your unwavering Knight-on-a-hose-to-save-the-damsel(Apple)-in-distress support of the Cupertonians?

Because all that matters is how something looks? Isn't Apple often criticized for putting form (i.e. aesthetics) over function?

If looking at it makes you sick then don't look at it, problem solved.

So you looked at this product, and you determined that there's something about it that you don't like...and that thing about this product that you don't like is the....color? :)
