They'll talk about how Apple adds things that their products should have launched with, while ignoring how these gradual upgrades allow for pretty much seamless experiences, no crashes, great integration with iTunes, etc.

I'm sure people will complain it's not "real" multitasking. It just lets you inject code into blessed background services.

People want their solitaire app to shrink into the background, UI and all, using up tons of the tiny available RAM, and requiring a Task Scheduler to kill stuck processes.

well done. you've just repeated the thoughts of dozens of other people throughout this thread. now go away and let us enjoy the presentation!

Are you five years old? Get out of the sandbox is your response? Here's your cookie and milk.

I still think it's funny that things like "Unified Inbox", "MultiTasking" and "Wallpapers!" deserve to be listed as huge deals.... most other phones have done this for years.

Different story when Apple does it. It's all about *how* you implement those features. On an iPhone, it's like candy.

Apple getting their own game social network? This could be big and the start of an entire social network. There are a LOT of Apple fans, people who listen to iTunes, etc... imagine a service that is like a convergence of X-Box Live, Last.fm and Facebook. That would be KILLER, especially since iTunes, a desktop app, is the hub of all of this.

I am officially leaving Apple for good. No new UI. Android UI is way better. I feel like I'm buying the same model car with enhancements for four straight years.

Somewhere in Redmond furniture is getting broken right about now... Doesn't matter how good Apple's implementation of all this actually is, the fact is it's going to be out at least three months before MS (assuming it launches in the summer) and there's an 85 million device userbase already in place which could be pushing 100 million by the time the first Windows Phone 7 device rolls out.

They had me right up until iAd. Yuck! Who wants more ads built in. . .

Feature Number 4:

"- Feature #4: iBooks for iPhone OS. Same as for iPad, same iBookstore...Buy books once and read them anywhere. Wireless syncing of content and bookmarks."

Anyone know if this means wireless syncing over Bluetooth? Could one buy a book with the iPhone and then sync it to the iPad, such that one doesn't need 3G on the iPad just to acquire books?
