I'm thinking next time I'll wear a t-shirt that says something like "gone spoiler free. Keep your :apple: news to yourself". I guess we could design one and send it around to the people in the forum...

Haha same here. All my friends try and ruin it for me. Thankfully, my class with the computers is done before 10 o clock. :p

i have access to one throughout the day but i have pretty good self control so ill be able to block it out... i just hope no one will spoil it for me :-/

Does anybody know what is the apple podcast we want to download? Is the name evident like "apple keynotes" or so? I don't want to watch the wrong one by mistake...

Thanks,

Bored

Damn, it hasn't even started yet and I am already bored not being able to check FB, Twitter and RSS.

In Denmark it starts at 7 pm so the stream probably won't be up before I have to go to bed - it sucks. The last four times I have had to wait until the next morning. Not the MacBook Air event though - that one was up pretty quick I think.

Well... Just rambling on to make time pass :-|

Thanks,

It's called Apple Keynotes and funnily enough its by Apple Inc. The most recent one should be Apple Special Event, September 09. I would subscribe to it now rather than waiting until sometime after the event because each podcast has a description and if you want to be spoiler-free then the description could be a dead giveaway (ie The New iPhone 3G S...)

Hi, first time officially spoiler free for me the last one i made the mistake of going to the website to watch the quick time, bad move.

anyone think there is even the remote possibility of a hint at iPhone 4g?

Looking forward to this. Got to say I've not been that thrilled by spoiler free the last few times but I'll never regret seeing the iPhone live. I've been pretty dark since Monday. I'm in the uk so will provably save the pain and watch it tomorrow after work.

Somebody should check all the old spoiler free threads from last few years. Then we can figure out how long it will take this time, maybe. Everybody is saying different times.

It starts at 7pm here, so I want to know if I sleep before or after.

Is it considered to be a spoiler if we know how long the keynote was?

Last keynote... at 2-3 AM GMT+1

Where the last few keynotes on the same time? Then I'll maybe know how long it will take.

7pm for you? For me too :p I live in The Netherlands.

Anything regarding the keynote is a potential spoiler, except the correct link to the video stream.

As for the time it takes, as many of us already said, it's been around 5-7h after the event ends (it's been getting longer and longer, so don't expect any less).

Yes, I think it is a spoiler if someone posts how long the keynote goes for. If you know when the keynote ends, there won't be any anticipation for a possible "one more thing" announcement.

I'm posting from school right now. It is so tempting to open safari and check the macrumors home!!! But I know it will be worth it!! Best of luck to everyone. Stay spoiler free!

It always takes about 80-90 minutes. I don't count it as a spoiler to know how long it will take this time.

But I can remember seeing a stream before 24:00 (12am?). So that's about 4-5 hours after the keynote. But last time it was indeed after midnight.

That's not the true reason (you actually get to know the total length when watching the stream anyway). It's just that as soon as you know how long it took, it immediately gives you an idea of how much "content" was in it, so you'll create expectations during the (long) wait for the stream.

The trick is to basically talk about everything but the keynote here - counting on Voidness and his welcome surprise for that! ;)

You are right about that. The length of the keynote shows up in the stream/download. In the past, I've downloaded the stream and tried to 'un-focus' my eyes until I get to "Full Screen" mode. Then the status bar disappears.

With all due respect to my Apple brethren, this thread is beginning to get a bit ridiculous.

I have been trying to load up live.twit.tv just to get an idea of the coverage (still 10 minutes before the start), but the page won't load for me... oh well.

Can't wait...

Hi all - I'm trying to go spoiler-free for this one as well. I tried for a WWDC a few years ago but working in silicon valley, it was basically impossible :)

Does anyone remember when Apple live-streamed Macworld? It was the year they announced the 12" and 17" Powerbooks. I didn't even have broadband then. I remember going to my local library hoping that they would be broadband-equipped only to find that they were still using telephone modems. Quicktime would only serve up the audio-feed for that low-speed connection. I listened to just about the entire keynote until I got kicked off the computer and had to rush back home to try and catch the end!

Too bad they stopped live-streaming after that *sigh* Anyway - wishing you all a spoiler-free day! (It's pretty tough - I feel like I have to avoid EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING! :))

Yeah I am checking only my work email and will not answer calls from non-family members and have blocked the sms preview on my iPhone so all it will show it who's texting me because a lot of my friends, especially those in Cali working in text, will text me immediately with the vital info to spoil it for me haha.

That is too funny! But I actually think I'm going to try that as well.
