So how is this gonna work?
Is someone here going to post a link that sends me directly to the keynote video when its available?
I dont wanna go to the apple site and look for it. I'll get spoiled for sure!

You are right about that. The length of the keynote shows up in the stream/download. In the past, I've downloaded the stream and tried to 'un-focus' my eyes until I get to "Full Screen" mode. Then the status bar disappears.

LOL, that's brilliant!

people its TIME!!! it should get starting any second, im OFF to take a few sleeping pills and come back a couple hours later!!!
btw, 9to5mac.com are broadcasting it live!!! http://www.9to5mac.com/tablet-event-loader.html here, but my internet connection is tooooo dammmm sloww!!! i cant get a clear pic, anyone brave enough to go and check?!

[EDIT] OMG, YES THEY'RE LIVE!!! I JUST CHECKED IT!!!! GOO!!

Does anyone remember when they used to have satellite downlinks for the Keynotes? I got the chance to watch one on a BIG ASS projector quite a few years ago at my local college. It was when the first G4 TiBooks were introduced, I think I was in Jr. High, I was so excited to watch it in a theater!! :p

Apparently live.TWIT.tv found a live stream from inside the room, but I can't get the page to load... oh well, time to stop trying and time to hunker down!

Hi all - I'm trying to go spoiler-free for this one as well. I tried for a WWDC a few years ago but working in silicon valley, it was basically impossible :)

Does anyone remember when Apple live-streamed Macworld? It was the year they announced the 12" and 17" Powerbooks. I didn't even have broadband then. I remember going to my local library hoping that they would be broadband-equipped only to find that they were still using telephone modems. Quicktime would only serve up the audio-feed for that low-speed connection. I listened to just about the entire keynote until I got kicked off the computer and had to rush back home to try and catch the end!

Too bad they stopped live-streaming after that *sigh* Anyway - wishing you all a spoiler-free day! (It's pretty tough - I feel like I have to avoid EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING! :))

I clearly remember and miss that, I was in middle school I think and went to my dad's lab because he had either a T1 or T3 (don't remember) and I would have to stifle my reactions because everyone else was actually working!

Just found this thread and decided to join, keynote just starting and have now gone "dark" (love that expression.)

I pray i can get the download of itunes or watch the stream before midnight (UK time) i will not get through the day tomorrow without a spoiler disaster.

Got some good pointers from here about things i would not have thought of: change homepage etc.

This is all a bit sad really i know to the non tech community as well as most of the tech community but hey this is Apple we are talking about they now have a habit of changing the world somewhat in terms of the devices we all use.

This keynote may or may not achieve that holy grail a third time but whatever happens is likely to be entertaining and interesting.

Ok the long wait is on....

But I bet it wont be very good quality and wont give the same experience as watching the steam from the Apple website.

Don't forget to change your home page guys! In previous years, people have had their home pages as either Apple.com or Nytimes.com and have had it ruined for them!
yeah! great advice indeed! My home page is this thread, I'm safe :)

I started to just look at the Engadget live blog... I saw a couple pictures of the stage — but nothing more. I thought that maybe waiting this year just wasn't worth it.

Then, a little voice inside me told me to wait. Just wait.

So I came here. The only place I knew I could go. To wait. :)

How am I going to explain to my professors that I had to miss all my classes today because I'm trying to be spoiler free for the apple event? :)
I'm a film major...if I go to school...I wont last a second!

Its ok brother we're all here to support you. The first step is admitting you are powerless over your problem. . . (or is that the second step?)

But I bet it wont be very good quality and wont give the same experience as watching the steam from the Apple website.

I just checked with one eye open and saw the back of some heads and a way too bright stage with just a tiny bit of something I won't mention at all, however I DEFINITELY recommend waiting for the HQ apple stream, it's already way to late to join in and the quality is terrible ustream from either a phone or webcam.

I have a really hard time keeping myself unspoiled. All my colleagues over here are checking the live "stream" from engadget. I think I need to go to sleep soon and check in here for a link.

I am actually working on preparing for a phone interview for film school right now, but think I might rush over to Blockbuster and pick up some blu-rays to watch before the guys behind the counter know enough to tell me what's happening! Which one do you go to?

:)

I'm happy I found this forum but won't those google Ads change to something we don't wanna read directly after the show?

a) read the previous posts, saying "the product" is a spoiler you idiot.

b) read the previous posts, it will take 3-7 hours to show up in HQ

c) EVERYONE TURN OFF PUSH NOTIFICATIONS, I JUST GOT ONE FROM AP AND LUCKILY COVERED MY EYES BEFORE I READ IT!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I thought I'd give it a try, as recent videos have taken so long to post.

But between stuttering bandwidth on top of low quality, the live video is virtually worthless (one would be significantly better off with a liveblog).

I can confirm that there is something going on that resembles a presentation, although it could just as easily be a movie, an auction, or a seminar on basketweaving (I think I can say with confidence that underwater basketweaving, however, is out of the question).

I couldn't tell if the voice I was hearing came from Steve Jobs, a man, or even a human, although if it was alien it was within the humanoid range of aliens. All that definitively can be ruled out is that it was too realistic to be the Mac text to voice feature (unless, of course, that is the announcement).

Whatever Apple's announcment, the basic laws of physics and the universe appeared to remain in place. There was light. And gravity (although there is no confirmation on the presence of the weak nuclear force at this time).

Bill Gates was not in attendance.

if Apple's plan to revolutionize the Internet had been set in motion, it was not apparent, because the Internet appeared to still be working under the old order/oppressors.

The video resolution wasn't good enough to tell for certain, but it appeared that someone had pulled the new Macbook Vapor out of a postcard.

It looked like there could (for real this time) be a Beatles announcement... Unless that blob that took up half the screen wasn't the ghost of John Lennon.

So I hope I didn't include too many spoilers there. I guess everyone will just have to wait for the official video.

Can you understand that you are posting in a SPOILER-FREE thread?
We don't want to know what is happening right now at the event.

We don't care about anything related to Apple for the following 2-3 hours. :p
We are just here to help time passing...

I'm hoping that since a few websites are broadcasting live feeds that they will also be recording it and posting it possibly even faster than Apple!

I'd want somebody to tell me if the quality was worth it though.
