I prob wouldn't buy a new one if everything is still soldered. A new design with a return of user replaceable RAM and a few 3.5" RAID drive bays on the other hand...
Waiting patiently to upgrade my 2012 model. Luckily I see there’s a thread entitled, “The new Mac Mini is almost certainly coming”, so that gives me hope.
Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller said the Mac mini "is an important product" in the company's lineup
The old joke applies here; how do you know when Schiller is probably lying? He’s opening his mouth.
Maybe they can build some sort of Mini-ITX style machine that could possibly satisfy both the Mac Pro crowd and the base desktop Mac crowd by way of internal configuration.
Apple needs to kill off these relics and simplify its product lines.
Kill of the Mac Mini, iPad Mini, MacBook Air, iPhone 6s, Apple TV (non-4K) and the iPod touch along with a bunch of cables and accessories no one ever buys (in-ear Apple earphones that have existed for donkeys, 30-pin cables etc.)
I couldn’t wait any longer so I got a 2017 iMac 5k.
Apple beat out my patience!
(aka Yorba Linda? Sacramento? Simi Valley? Barstow?)
It's dead. I hope not, but it's probably dead.
I have the highest-performance Mac Mini... the one from 2012.![]()
