Maybe, just maybe, we'll see a lower price on this eventually? I don't need the full 15W charging, never had it before, not seeking it now. But I would like a portable compact two-for like this for bedside and travel use.

Why would anyone have any desire to go MagSafe especially if it puts a giant circle on a $60 iPhone leather case and is slow to charge.

Asking for a friend.
Basiically no issues putting it in the right place to charge once its On its on...it’s only an issue being slow to charge if you badly need it to be topped up quickly...I know I would use it at night only so being fast to charge really isn’t important

From my perspective, inductively charging phones is nothing but a marketing stunt. As long as chargers ain't invisibly integrated into furniture, desk lamps, monitor stands etc. they absolutely make no sense to me. Where's the difference between having a cable lying around on your desk or night-stand, or a charger (with a cable on it's back) instead?

Annnnnnnnd that's the deal breaker for me. Duo charger is now dead to me.

I didn't mind the delay, lack of charger brick, lack of USB-C, or price but the fact that MagSafe charging can't reach peak power turns me off as a tech geek. I went from buying the Duo charger to keeping my Apple Watch Dock and separate MagSafe charger.
Suit yourself 🤷‍♂️ If 14W vs. 15W is a deal breaker, it’s a deal breaker 🙂

With wireless charging, you just set the device down. No two-handed plugging in of cables to mess with anymore.

It’s all about convenience, that’s it.

LOL at anyone who buys this at $129.
Insane.
Considering the wireless Watch magnetic charger is a $79 product, it’s not so bad. Some will want it, that’s why Apple made it. Those who can’t afford it or simply don’t want it will probably... not buy it? aka a win/win.

There are much more expensive extravagances than this someone might buy 🤣

Shouldn't be a problem for two-handed people. What do these people do with their Macs and iPads?

Gee, people are willing to throw out $xxx for the supposedly convenience of an inductive charger, but they'll cry when it comes to pay $0.99 for iCloud storage.

What a joke. This product sucks. It doesn’t charge at full capacity, it looks like a 3-ring binder from the dollar store, it isn’t even innovative in the least, and it’s 5 years behind schedule. This should be $49 maximum, especially considering a wall charger is more useful.

Evidently, this is their way of evening out the R&D from setting a few buildings on fire trying to develop AirPower.

They think consumers are going to get even a fraction as much utility out of this as they would a pair of AirPods? The whole 12 lineup looks like a big corner cutting job, trying to create something out of nothing. Cool: you stuck a magnet inside. No one cares. The flimsy wallets falling off the back are the icing on the cake. Lol.

Not having to use two hands is more convenient 🤷‍♂️

That’s it, it’s just a matter of convenience. If that’s not something you’re interested in, don’t buy it. Simple, right?

Or you just want others to think like you do, when they don’t.

PS I don’t complain about the price of iCloud, but I sure wish they’d just charge me $12/year instead of 99¢ every single month. I get tired of seeing that stupid charge come in.

How is this getting ridiculous?
The 20 W brick lets a regular individual magsafe charger charge your phone at 15 W.
add an Apple Watch puck taking some of that juice, and it’s not gonna get the full 15 W on the other side. This is just obvious stuff

For me, that will depend on whether or not it can charge the phone faster if the watch is not simultaneously charging... If it can charge at 11 W max with a 20 W power brick, that would be disappointing.

But in the end, it doesn't matter for me. I was excited about it - I've got a 12 Pro and a Series 6 watch - but the Duo costs 3x what I expected to pay for a premium apple charger. Thus no purchase. Not even including a power brick makes it even worse.

Because it undermines the fact I want to charge my phone not letting it cook on a plate. Wireless charging needs to improve or leave the market. My father's Android charges so ridiculously fast out of the box. Apple is falling behind rapidly on this front.

Magsafe Duo is a great concept by design, it’s literally the only Magsafe accessory I would buy. It’s just priced way too high, and apparent limitations make it even worse purchase. More like Apple sells us a beta testing product at a full price.

I would pay $79 for this (with no brick included) or $99 (with the brick). Not any single more dime.
You can already get the $79 magnetic dock for the watch, but if you also want to charge your phone at the same time, I think it’ll be higher, since that’s $39 as a phone-only charger.

If you bought them separately that would be $118, so you could save $11. But you’d also have to haul around two chargers and two adapters. I guess there are always tradeoffs lol.
