I just got the same email!!! So pissed right now, as I provided them the Effing receipt, the proof of purchase sticker on the box and also the confirmation email my husband got when he purchased it. WHAT MORE DO THEY WANT??!!! Says after I submit the crap they are wanting that it will be another 24 hours. Screw that! I finally paid for lion and will be calling them after I have calmed down and ask for a supervisor and demand a refund! As a brand new Mac user and spending nearly $4000 on their product and being "promised" the free ML upgrade I am pissed and very unimpressed! ******s!

I almost gave in, like you. I don't understand why this is an issue. I don't know how they've done this in the past, but surely there is a simpler, more efficient process than requesting a bio, picture (which I find ridiculous), and more less than empirical data. I'll wait the 24 hours, but if there is another problem, I'm buying a copy and complaining.

I guess what I don't get is how on earth they don't have a record of my purchase? And I have a feeling it will be longer than 24 hours as that email said...Upon receipt of your resubmission, OS X Mountain Lion will ship within 24 hours of requalifying your order. Soooooo basically it could take them another 48+ hours to "requalify" my order then up to 24 to get the code? Screw that! I am tired of waiting. Although, now that I am downloading ML it's moving at a snails pace. Gotta love it!

They do know who you are and that you purchased it. They're making us jump through hoops for no reason. It's a $19.99 upgrade for goodness sake, are they really worried that much about it?

I will say, anecdotally, call them, seems to speed things up. I got my code almost exactly an hour after I called.

15 & 17 MBP, Mid 2012

They sent me two emails, but both are password protected PDFs. I haven't received the password to either of them. This is getting rather frustrating because it'll be day 3 soon.

After waiting for two days, I finally received some emails. 4 mails containing a password protected pdf file and two mails with a password. None of those passwords work with any of the pdf files.

This is totally ridiculous.

I have now passed the 60 hour mark... This is a complete joke by apple.. I called and emailed, and they both told me it would come within the 72 hour mark.. It BETTER come in the next 12 hours!!

Did you submit multiple times?

I FINALLY got my codes today. YES, CODES!

Apple sent me TWO PDF documents with TWO codes to open the document. I have only opened one of them. The first one I opened worked... I'm currently downloading ML right now. Takes an hour and a half to download for me.

On my new Macbook Pro 2.6 it took about 45 to an hour to install

Did you submit multiple times?

I submitted just after the release. After one day, I tried to submit again, but it stated that I cannot submit twice. Then I wrote an email to apple support and they told me that it takes up to 72 hours to receive the code. And one day after I received that bunch of useless emails.

Just wondering, when you download the app does it say "installed" for you guys in the app store, for me it just says "download" even though I've already downloaded and install it.

I applied for the Mountain Lion up-to-date program on July 25th at about 8 AM US Central time. Its 9 AM July 28th right now and its been more than 72 hours and I still do not have a valid redeem code.

I got two sets of emails - the first set on July 25th and the second set on July 26th. Both redeem codes give the same error message - 'THIS CODE HAS ALREADY BEEN USED. EACH CODE MAY ONLY BE USED ONCE'.

I bought my macbook air on July 5th and was contemplating returning it and just getting a new macbook air with Mountain Lion already installed - but then I realized that its already been more than 14 days.

The Apple rep I talked to now says that it can take up to 72 hours from the last email for me to receive working codes. So I asked him - what if I receive a redemption code today and that too does not work? Does that mean I'll have to wait for another 72 hours. He said he does not know but probably yes!!!

Apple reps are clueless about this issue.. This is the worst customer service I have ever had the privilege to interact with.
