Her computer has a 250GB hard drive... she has about 20 GB free. That explains everything.

I guess the first thing you should do is contact support.
I don't know if you got it yet but I also bought it from Best Buy and used my gmail account. I requested it release day morning and just got it 1:05pm Central Time.
Just got mine as well. I submitted two different claims on Wednesday (several hours apart). Just got emails for both claims about 15 minutes apart. The codes worked properly and ML is now downloading. Before this, I had received nothing from Apple.
I finally got my code. It only took 20 minutes to download from the App Store. However, my download appears to be corrupted. It failed to boot after making an image on two different thumb drives (trying to do a clean install).
I trashed the installer and I'm going to try again. The download is now estimated to take two hours..

only took 53 hours from my first request on Wednesday morning but my original (and ONLY) request has been approved and just got both emails, and am downloading Mountain Lion!
thankfully i have an amazing internet connection and that is going to take under 20 minutes in total, so hopefully i'll be in a new OS very shortly!!

60 hours after first registering the code is finally here! Downloading now but over a 4mb connections this is going to take a few hours. Fingers crossed the Olympics don't bring down the internet here in the UK!

I was one of those who pre-registered when MacRumors prematurely posted the link. I got the codes right away but didn't work on launch day. I didn't call Apple but sent an email that only got a canned reply. My code just arrived and I'm installing now.
Seems they're slogging through the mess.

LOoks like apple is quickly getting through the backlog now. so anyone who has not got there code yet. I think it will defiantly be with you by tomorrow.

The up-to-date program seems to be unavailable in your country.
Did the page accept your street address with correct country? (it shouldn't do this based on terms and conditions but I wouldn't exactly be astonished if if did).
Taking the path of least resistance, you could set up a new iTunes/App Store account in one of the valid countries? (Actual address is never checked)

So you have 2 redeem codes for both claim with 1 mac correct? Are both codes working or just 1? I'm asking because I submitted 2 claims!
