I recommend you to buy a console, but you probably don’t want too because that’s kind of obvious.
Consoles aren't cost effective compared to Steam.

Steam is miles and miles better than Xbox live, PlayStation Network, Origin, etc. Unless you forgot the "/S" at the end of your post, then you are utterly incorrect.
Exactly. 9 times out of 10, the exact same game is cheaper on steam than console. With mod support, dedicated servers, better graphics, resolution, fps, better gameplay, etc. Not to mention, I play some games with Xbox one and Ps4 players! Best of all world's.Consoles aren't cost effective compared to Steam.

Let me ask you something, since you don't seem to know much about steam. What happens if you buy a game from a different store, that may not run on your hardware? There is a chance that you might get a refund. With steam, you can play 2 hours, and get the game refunded, no questions asked. No S required. The sheer amount of ****, since they can’t be bothered to do an ounce of curation, is sickening. Then we get into the fact that I don’t think any of the other mentioned stores sell you games that might not even run. Steam is a real mess. Not only is the deluge of crap titles bad for users in terms of discoverability, but it’s bad for developers as well.
Valve can’t be bothered to fix it, instead cashing in with the hopes that people will continue to fuel their nigh-monopoly in the PC Game Store front.
And I hope you will understand why I call them out on their posts as well.I kind of figured you had no clue what steam/steam link are, but you made it quite clear that you don't from your post. I test my case. I understand that you deeply love Apple, but Android users, and pretty much the rest of the world outside of the restricted ecosystem, would benefit from steam, millions of times more than Apple could ever dream of. Broaden your horizon some, and maybe you will realize why so many users call you out on your posts.
Again, no clue. Pc's have a much longer expectancy than consoles. You can buy a $500 pc that will beat out the NEXT GEN consoles. As in the one that aren't even released yet. This has always been the case.Except if you buy a 500$ console today, it will get more years of working games without you having to worry about getting a new anything to play the most recent games.
Why don’t all these people just buy Steam Links If they want to play so badly on their TVs?

Crap titles? Ok I don't really think I have to get involved with this post, as you clearly have shown that you aren't that knowledgeable about steam. Steam is THE store to go to for the MAJORITY of games.

That hasn't happened since the 1st console flopped out the door.
Not to mention the prices of console games. Consoles are an ROI fail.
He can also get a SteamLink for just a few dollars. I got one in a bundle last year for $1.I recommend you to buy a console, but you probably don’t want too because that’s kind of obvious.
Amazon tried and lost.If what Steam is trying to do violates their rules, then they need to change their rules. This is ridiculous.
OK, he said something but in the end he didn't say anything.
I assume you haven’t been paying attention to console life cycles lately.
t seems pretty clear Apple is worried about Steam absolutely dominating a market Apple hasn’t really managed to develop (Apple TV games) and quite possibly establishing a strong competitive presence on iOS devices as well.
Steam is a crap store and you should know it.
I don't think it will be Damaging Steam. For one, you need a powerful gaming rig to use this app. What percentage of iOS users would be having a gaming rig? I am on various gaming and PC hardware forums and most hardcore gaming users spend all their cash on dual video cards, flashy peripherals and components. They would rather spend $1000 on a video card rather than a phone and make do with a One Plus 6. I would imagine Android is where majority usagenof this app would lie. There’s a reason why the iOS App Store takes in more revenue than android despite its smaller market share.
Apple has the best customers. The iOS App Store represents an extremely lucrative market for Steam (arguably even moreso than android) and I believe being banned from it would be quite financially damaging to Steam.
They both need each other, though Apple is in a position of greater leverage and is thus able to dictate terms to Steam (within reason of course).
And dictate terms Apple will.
Im not sure what points you are trying to make in the last few pages.
You talk about the crap state of the steam store, and sure its not perfect, but as someone approaching an embarrasingly large number of games in my library, I can assure you, it doesnt get in the way of enjoying what steam can offer. I would rather they let in all the crap they can, rather than have a curated mediocre politically correct mindnumbing emotionally bankrupt ecosystem that Apple has. Not all of us need someone to moderate the content in our lives, and some of us have the capacity to actually decide things for ourselves.
You are now attacking PC gaming as if people into PC gaming dont know what they are doing, and havent carefully considered everything that you in your vast intellect can conceive. It might surprise you some actually are capable of making the good decisions for themselves, and for some of us, PC gaming is exactly where we want to be.
Steam is a "Store", aside from apple, and while it takes a share, it's not the pain in the ass that apple is.
Man, I would be the first to defend apple during the Microsoft oppression days, but now? Now they are even worse, I hope you're happy with your 1000 dollar phone that costs 12 Chinese labor hours payed in rice, a company that sues other companies out of spite, and yes, Apple vs Samsung is just spite and nothing more, because my Samsung already has all the alleged "infringements" claimed in the sue since 2004, like having round corners... WOW, great design innovation that, Having Icons? FFS...
A console lasts how many years now? 5? Nah, if you're nitpicking 2, if you're not 3.
Essencial difference between PC vs ANY Console.
PC WINS. ALWAYS.
Unless you ignore all the stuff that pc's can do that consoles cannot and will never do, in that case sure.
I can also say the best airplane is a Cessna, I just have to ignore the existence of Jet planes...![]()
What the hell. It's not. It's the only store where I buy all my games. Their refund policy is excellent and it's pretty much the only marketplace for PC games. I use it more than I do the App Store. Just yesterday I purchased Assassins Creed Origins at a discount on it.Steam is a crap store and you should know it.
No it's not. I would take a keyboard Plus mouse combo over any controller or console any day. Max settings on PC is something no platform can beat.I would taken them curating based on quality. But it turns out they can’t even stop people from selling games that barely run or sometimes don’t run.
The Switch is better than any PC out there. Period.
It is estimated that out of every 10 iPhone users, about 3-4 use a Mac or Macbook.I don't think it will be Damaging Steam. This is just not true. I have 3 PCs. One is a dell Studio XPS 8000 from 2009 which had a GTX 260 in it. Still runs games at 720P on medium settings which is the equivalent of console quality. The other is a GTX 970 rig I got in 2015 and 3 years later it's still running games at 1600P resolution at high settings which is way beyond what consoles can muster.Except if you buy a 500$ console today, it will get more years of working games without you having to worry about getting a new anything to play the most recent games.
Meanwhile many apps including Moonlight Gamestream, Kinoconsole, and many other remote desktop apps do the same thing it seems the only one who has to follow these insane guidelines is Valve. Lol.
Apple recently made the decision to reject Valve's Steam Link app after initially approving it, leading to many unhappy Steam customers who had been looking forward to the feature.![]()
Apple has been silent on the issue despite several requests for comment, but today, Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller explained the reason behind the rejection to a MacStories reader and other Apple customers on Reddit who emailed to ask Apple to reconsider. In the email, Schiller says the Valve app violates a number of guidelines and that Apple is working with the Valve team to rectify the issue. The Steam Link app is designed to allow Steam users to play their Steam games on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV using either a 5GHz WiFi network or a wired Ethernet connection to a host PC or Mac. As our sister site TouchArcade said in a review of the app, it allows for "real" PC-like game experiences on Apple devices.
"I could see a very real situation where many people just straight up stop buying things from the App Store and exclusively purchase Steam games through Valve instead," wrote TouchArcade editor-in-chief Eli Hodapp.
As MacStories points out, we don't know the specifics of the guidelines the Steam Link app violates, but Apple has strict rules for features like filters for objectionable content, in-app purchases, loot boxes, and more. Steam Link, as a remote access app, does allow customers to purchase Steam games without standard in-app purchase methods, which is likely to be one of Apple's main qualms.
Valve first announced the Steam Link app on May 9 after initial approval from Apple, but Apple later said the preliminary approval had been a mistake and told Valve the app was not eligible for release due to "business conflicts." Valve's statement:Valve has not commented on what features might need to be tweaked or removed to earn Apple's approval, and it is not clear when we might see a modified version of the Steam Link app available for sale if Valve is able or willing to make the necessary changes to the Steam Link experience.
