Safari snappier... After all the point updates of snapiness, safari should know what I want without me typing-

snow leopard will show real "snappier" feels!

You people are crazy. Seriously. It's a few days difference! 28th Aug/1st Sept, who really cares.

And you all know that there won't be much of a difference visually when you install SL. Just wait for all the threads to pop up with people moaning about how let down they feel with SL.:p
Who cares about visual differences? I'm not a Windows user who only needs eye candy.

It's just getting the best performance- I guess we could all go back to os 7...

Yeah a few days matter

Here comes my Tower of 8 Core Snow Leopard Power, BABY!!!!!!

And if I'm in a really good mood, maybe I'll pull the trigger on a GTX-285 just to blow the roof off my rig. Video encoding and CS4 never looked so fast.

I'm getting the SL family pack, you know my MBP is begging for it too :D

WTF?!!

Snow Leopard isn't even ready to be shipped.

Both iTunes and Quicktime freeze and crash out to desktop a lot still.

The Os itself is stable, but not stable enough to be classed as even golden for christ sakes. And Apple have the cheek to say that microsoft rush their products.

I'm a ADC select subscriber and have been running Snow leopard for about a week now and have found many bugs that are noticeable if you dig deep enough.

However it is stupidly fast and my god are the boot times fast.
I tested iLife 09 in Snow Leopard erlier today and iMovie loads in a split second.

apart from the crashses from Quicktime and itunes Snow Leopard is ok but nothing Golden still. I'd still give it a good month before releasing it if i were Apple.

and yes, i know i have just stomped all over my NDa but what do you lot care? if you do care then leave this site you hypocrites!

Don't you know how to properly use new Apple Operating Systems?

Version 10.x.0 - Ok for trying out, but not yet ready for primetime.
Version 10.x.1 - This is the quick emergency release to squash all the major bugs that are discovered by the early adopters.
Version 10.x.2 - This is the first regularly scheduled maintenance release. Most things stabilize by now.
Version 10.x.3 - This is one you'll want and it will be great. Also, by this time, all of your 3rd party software vendors will have had a chance to update their apps to work with Snow Leopard.

I chatted with Apple :D

That doesn't sound like an Apple Rep. An Apple Rep is required to say something like:

"Yes, I expect the release of Snow Leopard and installation on your particular Mac to be an exciting event for you to witness and enjoy."

The conversation in your shots doesn't sound right.

And you know this is true how?

Exciting!

I can not wait to get my copy! The sooner the better, but hey early september isn't bad either!

I wonder if they'll release a student version...I mean SL is already dirt cheap as an upgrade, but as a student I can get discounts on the other OS's...

I'm excited for faster...though I wonder about some of my more serious programs, hopefully they'll benefit from the upgrade.

do you guys think that they wanted to release SL early, maybe because the suggested September 8, iPod/iTunes event will release some hardware/software that is dependent on Snow Leopard. If so, what could it be?

IIRC, it's September 9th. Whatever hardware or software released there will have support for both Leopard and Snow Leopard.

I chated with Sharon C. and flat out asked why there are differences between the UK and US Apple stores and their reply was "That information is not available." So it sounds like that is the real date.

At this point in time we can't be 100% its shipping the 28th. If the UK site maintains that date through tomorrow morning however, I would say its definite. Apple cleans up their mistakes quick when it comes to the site...

Now I'm not positive, but I'm guessing that iTunes is going 64 Bit (which would require 10.6). And I wouldn't be surprised that the new Tablet (if it is announced in Sept) will run some version of Snow Leopard, so it will also be 64 Bit.

Just my 2 cents

I just ordered my up-to date from Apple U.S. and it showed a ship by date of August 28th. YEAH!!!!
Cost me $10.50 with tax. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
