it takes roughly 3 seconds to find the lightning cord end, and plug in...another .5 seconds to unplug (dropping the cable) so...if you charge your phone two times a day...you just gained yourself 7 SECONDS! think about what you could do in that amount of time and relish in it.

With 365 days in a year and an average life expectancy of 85 years that works out to over 60 hours saved. Think about what you could do in that amount of time and relish in it.

(I'm being sarcastic of course :) I'll still get one though)

So they charge you more for the phone for this "feature", then charge you an obscene amount for the charger that's used with one reason for increased phone prices. Sounds about right for Apple.

yeah cause a Qi Chinese made mat and Ferrari have so much in common ;) give it a rest with those ridiculous analogies ....

Suggest you read up on Ferrari history / heritage to understand why you cannot ever compare an apple product to a Ferrari.

Well..... you also have to factor in the times you have to re-adjust the placement on the mat when you don't get a good connection ... :)
The car analogy is very much appropriate. Read up on Apple history ....they've revolutionized entire industries. Like a Ferrari, people will pay for what they feel is a luxury/quality product.

If you don't see the value, fine. "Wireless" (not really ) charging is nothing but a pure luxury anyway.

Yet you binged on House of Cards, Stranger Things, or some other show blowing that 60 hours saved.

Some of my time saving techniques are charging my phone WHILE I bing on shows when I'm taking a crap and eating my meals. All at the same time. BOOM! Efficiency.

Sounds spot on for Apple. Getting so bored with them constantly taking the pi$$ with pricing. Don't forget to factor in an extra $69 for the AirPod wireless charging case, oh and that upgrade to the series 3 apple watch. Otherwise the only thing you'll be charing is your X/8.

Do new AirPods ship with the new case? Apple was charging $69 to replace a lost case, and since the new wireless case is also $69, I’m hoping they are just selling the AirPods with the wireless comparable case. Haven’t bought AirPods yet, but if I did, I would rather not buy a wireless case

What's the big deal? Just sell your Apple Watch and your AirPods and you'll be able to afford the AirPower. ;) Oh, never mind.

And you have thought that iPhone X is already expensive. Gotta find way to make more money for a slow iPhone performance this year. Or maybe they’re just fooling with our brain then they’ll lower the price. All of the sudden we think it’s a cheap one and everybody will go crazy about. Then Apple will create a fake supply constraints and people be begging for for it.:D

Ok.... so had to start tuning you out the minute you started telling us its a slow iphone performance year. The X isnt even available yet and you are already telling us how its sales are doing. LOL.

And charges 3 times as many devices at once...not shocking.

I hope these wireless charging devices are not... shocking! :D

I know both. The analogy is meaningless.

Get back to me when Ferrari's only does design and mass produces their cars in China.

Apple will sell to anyone , anyone at all, Ferrari will not, do you research.... cash will not get you a flagship Ferrari model ;) any feral with cash can buy an iPhone iPhone X

Ferrari and apple anologies are so so so wrong.

There's nothing Ferrari-ish about a single item in Apple's lineup. Ferrari takes pains to honor its heritage, and values its longtime clients greatly.

What on earth are you talking about? How does it value them... by giving them a great price on their cars? If you think they dont charge a premium for their product... well... wow...

BUT DUDE IT ADDS UP!

7 seconds X 365 days = 42 minutes a year.

Unless you make $200/hr, this is quite literally not worth it at $200 when using the time-saving value proposition. It's a neat gizmo, that's it.

If the only benefit you guys can think of is time savings, i feel very sorry for you...

Do you not think the benefit of going through a lot less lightning cables (mine go bad so quick) since they arent getting pougged in and unplugged any more is a benefit. Just food for thought...
Dude, you are shopping wrong!

For top-shelf MFI cables at an amazing price without compromise in quality there is only one place to go:
Monoprice (and definitely not Apple).

Check the Luxe series and you will not be disappointed.

I won't be buying one. Not sold on wireless charging as it is. Having to purposely place the device on specific points to get it to start charging and then it being ridiculously slow at charging. Really why bother spending $200 more when you can just charge using the cable.

I share your thoughts here. I do like the idea that the AirPower can charge the Apple Watch, AirPods and the iPhone's simultaneously, but I really don't need to charge all three devices either at once. And when I do charge my iPhone, I use a 10W iPad charger, which works perfectly.

was thinking like 100 or something...they will say well it can charge your phone, watch and air pods as to why it's so much...

if it's that much will just buy the Samsung fast charge stand and a mophie one
