It's unfortunate that both the hardware = iPhone 5S
and Software = iOS 7 ... are far from performing up to Apple's normal standard.

Yeah, says the guy who just registered within the past 11 days.

i couldn't tell you when it started as I instantly updated to 7.0.2 the day I got it, then to .03 restarts about 3 times a day, especially worst when I try and go in the photo album or take a picture!
I think I'll just call apple and get them to do that, the guys fobbed me off in the store, claiming it was my fault he said to me 'Oh you're using apple apps (yes the built in ones) and they're crashing so its causing your battery to suck' well that was useful, I was very angry!
What song?
My 5S and 5 haven't been crashing, but the one app I do seem to be having an issue with in iOS 7 is the Apple Remote app for the Apple TV. About 3/4 of the time when I open the app, it just abruptly shuts off and goes back to the home screen of iOS, like there isn't enough ram available for it or something. But then when I open it a second time it's fine. But I notice the Remote app is the one Apple app which doesn't seem to have an updated icon or new version or anything, so I'm wondering if that's a clue we're going to see something happen on the Apple TV front soon.
I must say though that iOS 7 seems to have fixed the home sharing/wifi issue between the iPhones and Apple TV. It just works now the way it should, so kudos to Apple for fixing that, I can now use my Apple TV much more again. Very happy camper!
Yep. Different people on different devices. Looks like it could be iOS 7 related.
App developers need to man up and fix this one.
I first noticed it on the betabut my dad never used the beta. Most of the issues seem to have gone away for a while after release, but they're happening again now. My dad has also had problems with his iPhone loading in old remindersa really old backlog that would load and load until his phone would crash. I showed him how to turn it off for now and it fixed the problem, aside from the other issues I mentioned earlier. Those crashes seem to be something else. It seems like my phone loaded in a bunch of older reminders too at some point. Might have been during the beta? There was stuff that I had deleted I'm sure of it! Kind of creepy that it still exists. There were birthday reminders going back years. There were some things from back in college relating to projects. It was very strange.
Perhaps if apple gave them access to the hardware earlier, they wouldn't be in this mess.
Maybe I don't use my phone enough, but I have not had a crash yet...
I'd say once or twice I've had iTunes Radio crash. It's like the phone locks up, gets really hot in the back for about five seconds, and then reboots.
Otherwise it's been great.
I'm using a 5s Space Grey 32GB not sure if there's any correlation between the described problems and specific models?
all these bad reports, and people are still scooping these things up in drones lol it's a wonder how Apple doesn't have more market share
...it seems to be quite a wide spread of apps that's crashing, which would seem to rule out sloppy developer work. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed in an iOS or developer tools update and doesn't require all developers to resubmit app updates.
While it's certainly possible this is a general iOS/firmware/or even hardware bug, the wide spread nature of it doesn't rule out "sloppy" developer work. Any app developers releasing 64-bit versions of their apps could not have spent much time, if any, testing with real devices. You can't put that on Apple (well, except for Apple apps). Given the market pressures to come out with a 64-bit version quickly, I wouldn't exactly characterize it as "sloppy" -- I'm thinking "aggressive" -- but either way it's on the developers.
That's why I wish they had broken down whether the increased crashes occurred for 32-bit apps as well as for 64-bit apps. If 32-bit app crashes are also up that points more toward things Apple is responsible for because those would be the same 32-bit apps that are crashing less on 5 and 5c devices. (Still not definitive, but much more suggestive.)
This reminds me of iOS 3.
You can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in (gold) glitter.
Perhaps if apple gave them access to the hardware earlier, they wouldn't be in this mess.
So itunes, safari, iwork, chrome, and whatsapp are all crashing? How is no one on here particularly angry about this?
I guess it is a 64bit problem then.
