Butler

Butler seems to be non-configurable. Hope it's updated soon - this is THE launcher!

does anyone use Maya - I can't find information anywhere about whether it will work in Leopard. I'm waiting to upgrade till I do... and till it arrives :p

Damnit Ukelele is not working and ofcourse apple still has not fixed the default keyboard layout issues on Belgium - Dutch...

(Like numerical pad the "." button when pressed gives you a comma)

pukka isn't working for me!!! open it and you get the beachball and the dev claims its ready for leopard..... that maybe so but it appears leopard is not ready for it :p

I read that dreamweaver and fireworks 8 are not 'officially' supported.

Anyone know if don't work?

I opened Fireworks 8 for a minute before I deleted it, seemed to work fine but I didn't really test anything. No problems with Dreamweaver 8 yet, it's actually a little less laggy than in Tiger. Photoshop CS1 also works. I haven't really come across any programs that don't work with Leopard yet.

Timbuktu 8.6

Anyone else have this problem with Timbuktu 8.6?

The program itself is working fine with my Powerbook G4 and Leopard, but after I boot up, it does not display the 'funky' old Mac icon in the menu bar like it used to. I have to launch the program each time after rebooting and it's always asking for my computer password. It never did that before except for the initial install.

Also, I'm using Filemaker 9.0 without a problem with 2 plugins working correctly that we need each day: eAuthorize 4.0 and myFMbutler Printer switch. I'm still performing tests with this just in case as I don't want the rest of my employees to have any issues with their iMacs. I'll keep them on Tiger until I'm completely certain all is well.

Finally, iKey 2.2.2 just needed to be reinstalled again to work correctly after updating to Leopard. Then is works perfectly.

I'm not touching ProTools and all my other music stuff (DP etc) until it's all cleared by the companies to upgrade those computers.

iGrabnews 1.3.1b1 crashes a few seconds after I open it. It's not a big deal since there are better newsreaders out there.

Anyone try Applejack on Leopard? It does major stuff, so I'd rather not be the guinea pig. ;)

I just fired up iGrabnews, and it came up fine....no crashing.

If AppZapper doesn't work, does that mean CleanApp won't work as well? Anyone able to confirm?

AppTrap works.....

Does anyone know if Photoshop 7 works on Leopard?

Photoshop 7.0.1 would not launch in Leopard. I got this message:

"An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error. Photoshop will now exit."

This persisted after permissions repair, and a complete reinstall of Photoshop 7.0.1.

Also, for anyone that may be interested, Hack TV Carbon won't launch either. Due to a specific work need, this failure may be what forces me to revert to 10.4.10

The following work for me:
CS2
Final Cut Express
Final Cut Pro (all apps)
IE 5.2 for Mac
Firefox 2
Appleworks 6
Flip 4 Mac
Snapz ProX
Flash 2004
Art of Illusion
Blender
Sketchup 6
iWork 8
iLife 6
Microsoft Office 2004
Tinker tool
Osirix 2.5 and 3.0
Cleaner 6 and 6.5

I'm having the same problem with Timbuktu 8.6 on a Mac Mini (Intel CD). I need to manually start the program each time I restart the Mini. Also, it asks for an admin password each time Timbuktu opens.

Anyone have a fix for Timbuktu 8.6 on Leopard?

I got a "command timed out error" then it loaded fine. (open office 2.2)
loading it the next time was fine. (without closing x11)
when I closed x11 and reloaded I got the same behaviour. x11 was updated in the leopard upgrade, there may be an issue there rather than with OOO as when x11 is already open OOO loads fine.
as ever, it takes a while to load. and I haven't updated it for a while. it may be better in more recent versions

Though you could try Neooffice, there does not seem to be any real issues with that, besides some really minor UI issues, that do not affect usability.

Can anyone confirm/deny that iStat Menus works in 10.5?

iStat seems to be working fine for me...

Leaf Capture

Leaf Capture 8.4.6 and Leaf Capture 11 both do not work with Leopard.

Leaf says an update is in the works for Leaf Capture 11 bringing the version to Leaf Capture 11.0.1.

Roxio's Popcorn 3

is anyone know why is Roxio Popcorn 3 doesn't start in Leopard.

I've heard popcorn 2 starts in leopard but it's give an error when you are about to burn a dvd...

You get Error -13780 in popcorn 2 according to "Deeply puzzled", member of Roxio's community forum. :apple:

Apparently Cisco's VPN client will not work with Leopard, meaning anyone who relies on that will have to wait for Cisco to release an update.

EDIT: On further consideration, this might not be true. My University posted a warning that the VPN client wouldn't work with Leopard (just as the old version didn't work with Tiger), but they have removed that warning from their site now.

Not true. I'm running with Cisco's VPN client (version 4.9.01) on Leopard just fine.

Adobe Photoshop 7 (for G4) worked on Tiger, not Leopard.

Also, Google Earth works, it just requires a download of the current version and reinstall.

Anyone know of any alternatives to PithHelmet and Saft? These two don't work with Leopard.:(

[EDIT] I found this for session saving. Safari has it built-in...kinda.

Pith Helmet is a must have for me. I hate ads and all that other crap I choose not to see! I wrote the developer but no answer so far. I sure hope he fixes this. Fingers crossed!!!!
