Used my Note 3 for the past year at the gym (similar in size to the 6+, although the plus is a bit longer), and it worked out find. A couple of my gym shorts have shallower pockets which would make the corner of the phone poke out, but not bad. I use Bluetooth headphones so keep the phone mostly in my pocket. Running with it was a different story. I use an armband which works just fine, but it does look almost comically big running with something of that size attached to the arm. :D But it works and I could use gps to track my runs and stream my music or do my zombie runs etc.

All of these threads are actually kinda funny to me. Use it at the gym? Will it fit in your pocket? Can I bend over with it? Will it bend? How to use one-handed? Lol. Welcome to the big phone world apple-ights. :D

If you get a 6 Plus then you should also probably buy an iPod Nano for the gym and runs. The 6 Plus is just simply impractical for active use.

The 5S isn't even very comfortable and slides out of my pockets for certain exercises so you could only imagine how distracting a 6 Plus would be.

Are any of y'all using a 6 Plus at the gym?

I always put my phone on the floor next to me or under the bench. If I'm on a bike or treadmill they have holders for books/mags which work.

My HRM and headset are both Bluetooth and I only have to glance at it between sets to check HR.

EDIT: I don't have a plus, but it would work the same way.

The problem with iPod nano is you can't use music-altering apps like Trailmix when you work out. That app is the single most importabt app to me for physical workout. It alters the tempo of your music to match in-step to your motion and adjusts the pitch such that the vocals sound correct (no chipmunks or slow-God voice singing!). It's a genius idea for an app. Feels so much more commanding when you run cause the music is following you, you're not following it. Love it! It's just a shame a nano can't load this app.

I have the iPhone 6 grandè. I run 6.5 miles a day at the gym m-f. Isn't there a ledge on the treadmill? Once I start running I just sit it there and listen to my music through my headphones.

I also hold my phone on runs to track my miles on the Nike app. I hope they come out with a hand grip of some sort. Similar to those hand grips that hold a small bottles of water. I don't like attaching things to my body (arm or waist) while running. For some reason it bugs me, which messes with my mind, resulting in running less miles. I'm weird like that hah.

Spibelt. They have a size that fits the dimensions of the plus.

I'm more worried about fit in pocket(for me) imho. I'm already a close to tight fit in chairs as is. Cargo pockets would be just a bit too small to store it comfortably

The 6 Plus is just fine for me after two days at the gym. Upgraded from an iPhone 5, and the difference in my gym shorts for things like squats and lunges is negligible. When I'm on the treadmill or stairmaster, it sits on the ledge of the display just like my previous phone.

This was the one area I was a bit concerned about with the size difference, but no worries so far.

Call me weird but I leave the phone in the locker and rock an iPod shuffle fora work out.

Not weird mate. If I had to take something into the gym I'll take my older iPhone.

OK, we get it. Some of you don't like to take your phones into the gym. That's cool.

For those of us that do--for whatever reason--I think that's who this thread is for. Sheesh.

So my headphones are not bluetooth and many of my workout shorts do not have pockets so I need a solution. I'm really hoping the waist belt I bought works out. It should be here on Thursday.

Yeah used mine for the first time last night at the gym. I just lifted weights and the 6+ felt fine and stayed in my mesh workout pants (under armour) even better then my 5. Also got a couple envious looks while playing around with spotify between sets :D

Not going to lie, I laugh inside when I see someone at the gym with a Plus. I leave it at home when I go to the gym, just does not look right in my gym shorts and too cumbersome to handle.

Going for a run? Forget about it...
For those that say they have no problem running with the Plus are in denial. Go running with an iPod versus the Plus.
Coming from someone with a Plus, it is a pain in the ass to run with.

I have been using an armband since Friday that I bought on Amazon. It said it would fit the Galaxy 3 which is pretty much the same size. Works great. Don't really mind it at all surprisingly. Wasn't expensive either.

Which one fits the Plus?

It fit's yes. Been using it everyday since I got my 6 plus.

At the gym, I leave my phone in my gym bag, which is always somewhere close to me. I then use bluetooth beats headphones if I want music. Not only do I not want to have any phone or iPod on me while I'm working out... I also hate cables.

I'm sure the apple watch might be useful for you. However, if you use straps while lifting, you'd have to take the watch off too.

Amphipod Airflow Microstretch belt is what I used for my iPhone 5 and I was pleasantly surprised to see it fits my 6 Plus perfectly too. Ran 3 miles last night and did chest and back and it worked perfect.

During chest the volume kept lowering and it was driving me crazy and I thought the belt was rubbing the buttons. Nope I was dropping the bar on my volume switch of my headphones....

Seriously for $20.00 you cant go wrong. It hides under your shirt so nobody knows you are wearing a "Fanny" pack. I have had people come up and ask what it was because they wanted one too.

There is a cool belt (maybe the fit belt mentioned above?) people have been linking but when I read the Q/A on Amazon it said it wouldn't fit the Plus.

6+ Gym Junkies

Anyone here use their iPhone 6+ in the gym? I go about 5 days a week and I'm concerned it might just be to big to tote around while working out.

I've thought about bluetooth headphones and running a playlist but its nice to be able to check social media/news/message in between sets.
