Runs a no-go? The last 5k I ran I watched a girl running while holding her S5 the entire time. The 6+ is actually lighter than an S5, so it's not a no-go.

For people talking about the distractions....

For me, I always keep my cellphone on me at the gym because I have to know what's going on at home/work. I'm a bit paranoid in that regards. I don't want to workout for an hour and a half and some emergency is happening at hte house. That's why I prefer my phone with me.

Thanks! Those Kinivos are nice. I just might be able to keep my 6 Plus in the bag.

I am not saying it's impossible. I guess I should have better articulated my point.

Running with the 6+ will be a no-go for me.

I would think that the armband wouldn't work to well and don't wanna run with an IPad mini-mini in my hand.

Heck gangsters in the 80's used to run from the cops with a "boom box" on their shoulders....

I hate running with keys in my hand, so 6+ would be too much for me. (Regardless of the weight, I am more referring to the dimensions and the value lost if dropped)

THANKS!

Im hoping to get into the 385 range! And this includes a full chest-touchdown! None of that half rep bs!

Be careful...I had a 400 goal, never got it, I hit 385, I was about 11% body fat at 215lbs.

Ended up having to get cortisone shots in my shoulders and they have never been the same since.

I have since backed down on the "heavy stuff" and am content with 10reps at 250lbs weighing in at 180. (I do 6 or so at 285lbs but I haven't attempted a set at 315 in many months)

Your muscles grow fast and your ligaments and tendons can't keep up.

Somebody told me the same thing I am telling you, but of course, I ignored them, as you will ignore ;), as lifting is/was my addiction....

Throwing up 385 and weighing-in in the mid-180's is an amazing lift.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1411617676.001652.jpg I use these as they were about the only option at the time....must be about 5yrs ago now. They work. I am sure the ones in the above links are a huge step up.

I would go for the smaller in-ear option, but that's just me.

Oh God, the Miscers have invaded!

Um...I'm going to start up the gym soon and was wondering this. I usually carry my iPod shuffle. But now I'm wondering if I should get some bluetooth workout headphones. Hm...

watch out your comments bro ^^

Slightly off topic. Anyone have a good beginner tips for building muscle? Like a good initial plan. I'm really lost when it comes to nutrition (I don't want to spend a lot). Thanks. Pm if you'd prefer!

I took my 6+ to the gym today for the first time. I rock blue booth headphones though so I just left it in my gym bag and took it out in-between sets!

Its a little different than I'm used too but so is everything else about the phone. (Coming from a 5s)

Speaking of which, I got a new PR on bench press this week... 355 lbs and currently weigh 187 :D

Wow great lift! Congrats! I benched today for the first time in about 8 weeks because of shoulder injuries and well I weight 202, this isn't much at all to a lot of people but put up 245 with ease without benching at all for about 8 weeks though

I got the Griffin armband, cheap, very nice, light yet stable.

Thank you, I was just about to ask if someone would suggest an arm band.

I run a lot outside and use my phone for music and also track my distance/route/splits so an iPod wouldn't really work.

Typical miscer lmao

I'm aware.

Lol just go to that same site man. There are plenty of workout programs. Meal plans...etc That's how I got started.

Search youtube through some of the fitness community. If you lurk the misc I'm sure you'll know.

Matt Ogus
Maxx chewning
Nick wright

I probably butchered all their names.

Nice man! Keep at it...but be careful. I too suffered a shoulder injury a couple years ago and just got over the injury this year. Took forever.

I hear you brother! I listen to my body a lot. If I notice any pain or discomfort, I immediately back down. Its not worth an injury that could last a year or more (ask me how I know ;) )

I've been using my 6+ at the gym four out of the last six days and it hasn't been an issue. I've got it in a silicone case and it hasn't interfered with my workouts.

I just keep it in my gym shorts pocket like my 5S and it seems to do fine.

Edit: I also use a pair of UE900s right now and I just do what I can to be mindful of the cord like I was before with my 5S.

My friend and I both kickstarted the Ownphones so I'm looking forward to having custom molded bluetooth IEMs in the spring next year.

I think the only time I'd want to be extra careful is with heavier dumbbell chest presses since the phone is larger and I'm resting the weights on my legs to set up.

Good to know! My fears, and my thoughts of down-sizing, are subsiding.

Take a look at the SPIbelt. The regular-sized one may not work, but they have a larger one that should be fine with a Plus. I've been using these for years – including running marathons – and they've been great with the iPhone 4 through 6.

My one bit of advice would be to find a case that has some grip to it so it doesn't slosh around in your pocket too much.

I used the leather apple case the first day because all the other cases I could find on launch day looked like a giant bag of saggy ass and when I did hanging leg raises the phone made a break for it and took a tumble from about five feet up.

Astoundingly, like every other smartphone I've ever had the phone was perfectly fine. I've managed to go nine years on smartphones and never had one screen break on me.

Anyways, after that incident I switched to this grippy clear silicone case for the time being. I'm trying to avoid going the route of Otterboxes and Lifeproof cases for day to day use though I'll probably grab a Lifeproof or something of that sort for backpacking trips when they're released.

Bluetooth ear buds are a must at the gym. Can't tell you how many times I either ripped my wired ear buds out of my ears or hung myself by getting the wire caught on something.

I have these, in red, of course. ;)

If you can still find a pair, the jaybird sportsband is great, especially for jogging.

Spibelt also makes a great pouch that can fit a 6 or 6 plus

first time using it at the gym tonight. it actually falls out of my pocket less when lifting and fit well in my gym shorts.

same experience - the 5s always fell out. This is large enough that it actually gets caught in the pocket and doesn't fall out - even when doing ab workouts.

Lets be honest folks, this phone isn't much bigger than the regular 6.

I was worried about it. Thinking about an armband or a fit belt or wireless headphones. Ended up leaving it in my pocket like I did with my 5. It's in a spoken tough armor and I barely noticed it. It fell out doing decline sit-ups but squats, pulls, and presses it's been fine. Gotta get bigger to match my swole ass phone now.
