I do not like scratches on my screens. They are just as bad as cracks in my mind. My screens remain pristine because the screen protector takes the damage that the iPhone screen would otherwise take - be that a crack or some scratch.

Who am I sending my bill to when I get some scratch or crack because I’m apparently miseducated and wasting money on screen protectors? I’m always appreciative of free cost services.

Do the screen protectors currently available fit the iPhone 11 models correctly? These screen protectors are the same X/XS ones and some amazon reviews say they don't fit as great as X/XS models since the device sizes changed so slightly.

Understandable. Some of us don’t like the way protectors look. Trade offs. I’d rather have small scratches that I can only see in bright direct light versus a piece of plastic or extra viewing depth from extra glass. Trade offs.

I used to baby my devices so they would be flawless if I sold them. Now I enjoy my device. Trade in via AUP every 1 or 2 years.

You can maintain a scratch free phone and even a micro scratch free phone. But, it takes a lot of conscious effort and constant work to do so.

I didn’t feel like dealing with that, so I just installed a screen protector fresh out of the box.

I’m not getting a screen protector. I haven’t put one on my iPhones since the 3G. Every screen protector that I’ve seen uglies up the phone with that edge, and cruft accumulates around that edge. I’m very careful with my phone, and when I’m ready to trade it in or sell it after a year, I clean the screen and check it under bright lights and sunlight up close, and if there are scratches there, I can’t see them.

And I understand your rationale as well. I didn’t like screen protectors when I first started using them. I eventually found ones that were great to me in that they felt just like the screen glass. Since the cost is so low, I’m okay with the fact that they are more likely to crack on a drop.

I want to add that I don’t feel like protecting my phone is keeping me from enjoying it - never understood that statement. My satisfaction in enjoying my phone comes from my phone working as I expect or better than I expect. The screen protector is a minimal thing and I dare even less noticeable than the notch, lol.

I use it for me.

I used to keep my phone in my pocket with “nothing in it” and have gotten scratches. I kept very good care, but still acquired scratches.

On my recent phones I install multipack $4 Amazon screen protectors which last the life of the phone. If they pick up a nasty scratch or deformity, I can easily replace. Haven’t had bubbles with any of the latest protectors like I had on the early days of iPhone. Seamless experience, perfect optic clarity. Using the phone as it was designed.

I always scratch my head and wonder why people pickup AppleCare and then have to pay deductibles on top of the original payment. Not good math, but that’s universally accepted.
Why do you pay car insurance and then have to pay deductibles on top of the original payment?

“Just in case.” Because it’s cheaper than paying for the full replacement cost.

Do you cover your car with protective film, seat covers, and bumper reinforcements?

Have always used an Apple leather case and no screen protector and never had any issues (touch wood).

But I am pretty careful with my phone so I guess it depends on where it’s kept, how it’s used etc as to whether or not you should get one or not.

I am running a screen protector for the first time I am hard on my phone so always in and out of my pocket and my ipx scratched something awful. I am not liking how the screen feels less responsive. What is the best one for responsiveness.

I just use the iCarez full coverage / 2.5d screen protector. It goes beyond the edge of the screen so you can't even tell a screen protector is on the phone, is super easy to put on, and fits perfectly with the Apple leather case. For just a few bucks, I always figure you might as well put one on for the peace of mind.

I have a dog and I have a seat cover, so yes.

A car accident can cost $10,000+. Bit different. Insurance programs are designed to make money, not save you money. I don't get them the majority of the time because they are not beneficial. Life / health / car insurance is a different beast. Apples and oranges.

AppleCare for my phone costs $200 + $29 deductible for a screen repair. I'd walk out the door spending $230 to replace my screen. It costs $270 to replace a screen out of warranty. Ain't saving much, and that's IF you break your screen. I haven't broken my screen in ten years. Kind of a rip-off to pay for something year after year if it's only going to save you $40 God forbidding something actually happens. Scam to me.

Yep! Full screen glass. $14.99 on Amazon, 3 pack. Tethys is the one I got. It covers the entire screen and you can’t even tell there is a screen protector on it. Even when the case is not on the iPhone you can’t tell that there’s an extra piece of glass on it

If you can’t tell that’s good. Some of us can, depth.

Try cracking the glass - then have it replaced but it’s not OEM. Yup most do that and not fun when your iPhone glitches lol!! Live - learn

I know very well that a screen protector won’t prevent a cracked screen. That’s what the Apple care is there for. I never used screen protectors this year. My Xs max last year got a decent scratch in the middle of the screen that annoyed me most of the time. I work around sand. It gets every where. Eyes, ears, nose, pockets...everywhere. I also keep my phone in my pocket. Undoubted a lot of gets in my pocket with my phone. So for me, ole teen protector is just for scratch prevention. If this screen protector gets scratched, I just peel it off and stick a new one on. Bam. Flawless screen for basically $3.33.

Screen protectors do not protect against cracking. If you drop it and the protector cracks that’s not taking the damage your phone would have. Shock breaks screens, a protector can’t protect against shocks.

A glass screen protector will give the iPhone glass underneath added support to resist cracking.

My X is scratched so badly I will be paying $29 to replace my screen and $69 to replace the battery (if it is not covered by warranty).

Because of the horrendous scratches on my X, I left the plastic protector on my 11 Pro until I could get to an Apple store the next day and had them install the Belkin InvisiGlass screen protector.

Having never had one before, I do not hate it. Visual and tactile feedback are good and mostly never notice it is there.
I assume this one installed by Apple is about as good as it can get for using a screen protector. I guess we will see how long it lasts.

The glass screen protector is a real deal. I have mine drop from sitting position, the phone screen hits the edge of my table leg. The screen is still intact after the drop. My sister had the same incident but her phone screen is cracked ( no screen protector) . She spent $120 to replace it and I spent $10 to protect it.

I got these and they look really good. Not true edge to edge, so if you drop your phone and it hits a corner, there is no protection, unless of course you use a case.
