Because he was kinda mean to Bob. :p Seriously though, I'm guessing it's because he made a comment, however correct, about Apple's lack of market share. Implying that innovation has something to do with popularity, which is not always correct. Except in the case of the iPod. Maybe he could have made his point better, or at least let Looprumors guy finish his.

But Microsoft got their 95% by ditching DOS and copying the Mac, so Apple's computer innovations were actually successful, just not for them. :)

arn's a modest man...but now that he's been spotted, his cover has been blown.

I respect him a lot more for that. A "hey! I was on TV!" attitude would have felt a little out of place. That said, it would have been a shame if no one had spotted the segment though. Thanks to longofest for posting the story. It's really nice to finally put a face on the founder of my favorite website and online community. Keep up the good work, Arn! :D

I liked how Arn did not try to predict what this iPhone is going to have. We just don't know what this phone is going to have. The other guy tried to explain what it will probably have, and it did come off to well.

I am starting to believe that the Touchscreen iPod Video was scratched, and Apple has decided to integrate the Touchscreen iPod Video with phone capabilities.

That is my dream of having all the iPod capabilities, and some os x features like mail, ical, and iphoto on my phone, with no restrictions...:)

Oh my goodness Arn i did not expect you to be Korean! Yay! Not sure why... just thought you may be texan, hidden away somewhere in the nether-regions of the US... With a dial-up 28.8 modem. Your provider can't extend you the bandwidth to upgrade to 56k lol.

Anyway, i digress, great job yesterday. Was annoyed that i had to visit a microsoft site though to watch it! They get money from all those ads eeeeeeeek!

yes, the host (nobody knows his name and there is no reason to learn or remember it) is a rude, pushy, arrogant, and seemingly unintelligent person.

...

Mr. CNN Host.

...

I wonder what kind of market share a late night CNN host gets?

Take the time to get your facts straight before you start bad-mouthing. This segment was broadcasted on CNBC not CNN. At least the crappy foolish host knows what network he broadcasts on... :p ;)

Arn you performed admirably. Smart of you not to speculate on product features and functionality and to focus on what Apple has already done well. It left little room for the interviewer to attack you, a mistake the other interviewee made.

I read your post about how you normally do not wear suits, but you could have picked out a better tie. :p

yes, the host (nobody knows his name and there is no reason to learn or remember it) is a rude, pushy, arrogant, and seemingly unintelligent person. I was dumbfounded why he tried to serve up a notion that the iphone would be just another phone/mp3 player and that the Apple logo would be it's most intriguing feature. The moronic host must have never touched a Mac or iPod before or he'd know: an Apple product isn't just cool becuase of the logo/brand... it's cool because it has extraordinary features and extraordinary interface. If (well, when) Apple releases an iPhone I am certain it will exceed everyone's expectations. Unlike Mr. CNN Host.

Hopefully he's got a few spare minutes to read these posts. I wonder what kind of market share a late night CNN host gets?

are you being sarcastic?
it WILL be another phone/mp3 player.
hopefully it will work better than others and look nice.
but don't expect too much else out of it: an iPod-like gadget with phone/wireless capabilities that works nicely.

sometimes the "innovation" is the "implementation".

Yay

Congrats Arn! Your comments were well thought out and the interview was just great overall.

Good job!

Dammit! I'm at work and the firewall blocks all video! I have to wait 8 hours to see Arn reppin' awesome-sauce style for the Mac community! MY LIFE IS OVER!

Seriously though, sounds like you did a good job. Can't wait to see it.

True, and HP, Gateway, Dell...none of THEM have 95% market share either! He's confusing OS share with hardware share. Apple is a pretty damn successfuly computer hardware company when you look at hardware market share.

I think there was a point made about eliminating devices. If Apple has an iPod and an iPhone that is just a phone and not a music player, I don't think anyone would mind. I would rather keep my communication device and entertainment device separate. Sometimes I go places with my cell phone that I would never dream of bringing my iPod.

Innovative? How about automatically adding an audio blog to your .mac account from your iPhone. How's that for innovation?

Well done, Arn! :) Very coherent. It's always good to put a face to the name.

My comment is directed at Arn himself (Arnold). You certainly came off better than the other guy as far as being content filled and comfortable with the interview.

CNBC takes alot of almost ready for prime time folks and gives them a chance to shine, and as a network that needs to fill airtime, reinvites folks with something to say.

I suggest you prepare perhaps 10 15-20 second monologues which you can say from memory in response to a question.

Or as politicians do, respond to the question posed, and "elaborate" with their own 15 second monologue to get a message out.

Something along the lines of, "Yes Apple has a small market share, however it increased its market share 30% in computers in the last year or so, and our site macrumors.com has discussion boards as to why.

"The iPhone features and benefits are pure speculation right now, but one rumour is that it will integrate wireless internet as well as phone and iPod features. Apple recently purchased the Worldcom telecon center in California for $50 million.

By conveying information in sound bite format, and refering the viewer to the website you get a triple play. CNBC gets an intertesting guest, you cite facts, and you increase traffic at the website.

You sir, ARE ready for prime time. Good job!

Yay Arn!!!

Good job Mr. Kim! I don't know what I expected to see, but I was surprised anyway to finally see what you look like. As I did expect though, I saw an intelligent, pleasant, rational man holding his own(quite well) against a dolt of a host. Way to show 'em we don't all salivate profusely at the mention of Apple or a new product from Cupertino.

P.S. nice avatar Yellow, always liked the '78 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers almost as much as the original..

Hey Arn, if you ever get tired of Richmond you're more than welcome for dinner at my house, just a quick zip down 85. :)
