The ATT rep told me that you qualify if you have a PIF i6 and are not under contract. Once you receive the phone you go to the ATT retail store and turn in your 6 and they start the promotion for you. As long as you pre ordered before Sept 30th

You do not need to cancel it then ;) You do the trade in and promotion after you receive it.

Thank you!

They apply them monthly for 24 mo's, so you won't get the credits if you pay off early

It's actually paid off over a 30mo period not 24mo which essentially throws you into a 30mo contract since if you cancel service or upgrade your line in that time, then you stop receiving the monthly credit and the remaining balance of the phone becomes due.

I wasn't fully expecting to upgrade until next year. But I saw this offer and its basically trading in my 64gb iPhone 6 non-S for $650 and its hard to pass that up .

ButI was concerned about what would happen when I want to upgrade in 2017. I had questions around whether I would receive the full 24 months of reimbursement even if I was using a different phone in 12 months so I hit up their chat department.

They said that as long as it is 'on my account' I would continue to get the credit. I had to clarify what that meant. Basically as long as it wasn't traded in, paid off early, or registered with another carrier then I would continue to get the reimbursement over the entire term. Even if the phone was no longer being used and was replaced. I would need to upgrade to the 2017 phone via unlocked/non-upgrade to continue to get that reimbursement. I could do the trade in 2017 but I'd have to pay the phone off early and lose half the credits to do that.

Does this sound right to everyone else?
Couldn't you just start a new line for your new phone and then switch the numbers?

Yes, that's right unless you pick the Next Yearly 12 installment which if you don't upgrade at 12 months, you pay for 24 mo's

Thanks! That clears it up!

Anyone ordered black on this deal hoping to exchange for jet black in store? Mine is expected to be delivered next Friday and I was hoping to this if they or when they have the color in stock. I wonder if the promo will still be valid? Restocking fees sucks though for opened phones.

i think it might be premature, but I'm gonna cancel.

i dont want waiting weeks for it to ship, and then realize I'm not qualified and return the phone, deal with the hassle, all this crap.
That's why I'm going to wait and do it all in store, on the spot.
[doublepost=1473482371][/doublepost]So when does this deal end if you don't live in Puerto Rico? I can't find where it says.

Yeah that's probably the best way to make it happen.

It ends Sept 30th, hope you can find one in stores. I remember last year that no one had any 6S+'s for months. It was a mess.

****Edited: Reps are giving different US promotion end dates. Some say ends on Sep 15th, another Sept 16th and one said there is no end date as of now. Who knows o_O****

The 6+ in 2014, sure. I don't think there was a similar shortage on the 6s+ last year, though. The iPhone SE, however, demand and subsequent shortage for that model was certainly unexpected.

This is a little confusing. I got my iPhone 6+ two years ago so it's now paid off. I was planning on selling the phone on eBay. It's a 128 gig.(probably won't make much more than 400$). Anyway.
I wasn't on a next plan but the subsidy and it's all done. Off contract now. I ordered a 128 gig plus last night on the next plan(12). Put 400$ down also so payments are 20$ a month.
Can I trade in this iPhone 6+ when I get the new phone and get 650$ in credits? What happens to that 400$ I put down then?

So just went to the AT&T store around 7 p.m on Friday, and I traded my iPhone 6 in for a free iPhone 7 plus rose gold 32 gb! Only had to pay a $40 tax fee, but my monthly payments for the new iPhone 7 will be in fact paid off by AT&T since I traded in my non cracked/non flawed iPhone 6. I'm so excited:) ships out to my house the 13th! Promotion ends on the 15th for the U.S

I meant 6S+ last year. I remember how hard it was to find one for my husband. If a store got one, it was just a sprinkle of them each day at the 3 stores in our city and when I called about them, they said they were held for customers with reservations. I had to order one online and he didn't get it until November.

So you don't have a phone now?

You meant iPhone 7 rose gold, right? Because the iPhone 7 plus isn't free, you pay the difference.

I believe you are going lose $180. They will only credit the amount of the payments being made. To get the full $650 you need to have $650 financed through Next. What you need to do is put down $220 so that $650 is left to be paid off, which will be credited over 24 months.

Edit: this is how it was explained to me at the local store and it was brought up explicitly due to the system only allowing a 30% down payment the first time I preordered (I wanted to pay $220 to get it to $650). I ended up going through 3 different preorders due to some problems my sales person was having and the next 2 times it allowed me to put $220 down. Now that I read the promotion again I have no idea if this is right or not.

Honestly, I think if you'd just pre-ordered online, your husband would've gotten it sooner. Apple tends to err on the side of caution so when they quote 2-3 weeks, it's usually just 1-2 weeks if not earlier. Even with the hellish 6+ pre-orders, I remember receiving mine like the Tuesday/Wednesday following release.

I pre ordered mine, but I couldn't for his because he was still on a 2 yr contract. Had to wait till October and I couldn't find one anywhere. Checked tracker everyday. Finally gave up and ordered online.

So it ends on September 15??? One day before launch day??? We have to give up our phone before we receive a new one???? I knew there was a catch!
