I wasn't fully expecting to upgrade until next year. But I saw this offer and its basically trading in my 64gb iPhone 6 non-S for $650 and its hard to pass that up .
ButI was concerned about what would happen when I want to upgrade in 2017. I had questions around whether I would receive the full 24 months of reimbursement even if I was using a different phone in 12 months so I hit up their chat department.
They said that as long as it is 'on my account' I would continue to get the credit. I had to clarify what that meant. Basically as long as it wasn't traded in, paid off early, or registered with another carrier then I would continue to get the reimbursement over the entire term. Even if the phone was no longer being used and was replaced. I would need to upgrade to the 2017 phone via unlocked/non-upgrade to continue to get that reimbursement. I could do the trade in 2017 but I'd have to pay the phone off early and lose half the credits to do that.
Does this sound right to everyone else?
Now this confuses me. With Next every year, you are only required to make 50% payment to trade in and upgrade your phone. "After upgrade, unbilled installments are waived". So if I take advantage of the promotion now, am I required to pay in full before trade in/upgrade next year even though I'm on Next every year?
