I asked about the expiration date in-store at AT&T. The rep looked up the expiration date on a promotion sheet and the date was 9/30.

May I ask why you stayed with att rather then switch to say sprint who is offering deals for att customers? I only ask BC I'm in a similar situation as you.

I currently have 3 lines with att with 1 line having unlimited data, 1 line having 300mb data and 3rd line being a flip phone. I'm looking at going to sprint BC I can get 16gb shared data for 3 lines for $60, plus about 25-30 for each smart phone. As long as I turn in my current iPhone 6s's they'll pay back my etf fees. My bill will go from $190/mo with att to $120/mo with sprint.

Am I missing something that I should stay with att? It seems like too good a deal to pass

At least with AT&T, I know the devil I'm dealing with. I don't know how anyone else's coverage is around my area, so I just stayed put.

Can someone walk me through how getting the iPhone 8 next year will work on this program if you do the Next Year or the Next? I trade in my 6 plus to ATT, get the credits on my phone bill. Say the 8 comes out fall 2017, a year from when I got my 7, so I made 12 payments. I will not get the full $650 in credits, I understand it'll be more like half (still not a bad trade-in price). I guess the Next Year choice is better. But will there be any other large payment I'm not seeing?

If I buy unlocked iPhone 8 at full price or use Apple's installment plan and then switch SIM card, I believe I can get the full $650.

To bad they didn't have a 12 month offer because we all know we really want that IP8 when it comes out!!!

Return: Restocking fee up to $45 may apply.
[doublepost=1473645215][/doublepost]Also, it's funny to see Cingular is doing the credit lending for AT$T on new phone. Yes, they will take out a $650 loan for you with this promotion and they will pay it back with 2 years of payments if you pick 24 months!

T-Mobile is also giving $650 for a trade in 6. It also says in their fine print that they'll offer $250 for the 5. I didn't see att offering anything for the 5...is it still worth anything? My hubby is going from his 5 to a 7.

$250 seems fair for 5. A couple years back att was offering $200 for 4/4s if you wanted the newly release 6/6+. people were all over that promo.

If I already ordered on Apple.com and paying with AT&T Next, can i still do this deal by bringing my old phone into a store?

Has anyone actually walked out of an AT&T store yet with any kind of piece of paper guaranteeing them $650?

worst yet. AT&T credit won't show up on your bill until three months later. if the credit won't show up, too late to return the phone.

this is AT&T we talking about screwing up bill countless of times.

A rep I chatted with confirmed that my pre order was eligible and could trade in at store when I received my phone. Saved the chat if there was a problem
Would you be willing to post a screenshot of that? Might save those of us who pre-ordered via Apple from having to do the same chat and screenshot.

Now you went and scared everybody.

Didn't mean to scare but quite a few people here have said that they've already visited a store and gone through the trade in process (with the exception of actually surrendering their phone).
Just wanted to know what sort of paperwork they received.

i had the same issue. Basically if you turn in your phone next year 12 months you'll only get half of the 650$. so 325$ for a trade in.
Not worth it for me since ill be getting next years model and my iPhone 6+128gig are going for 450-500 on eBay. Il just sell mine outright
its a good deal if you want to keep the phone for 2 years.

I did one of each to hedge my bets on this year. I'll be trading in one of our iPhone 6 on this deal and I bought the other one PIF. I'll sell the second 6 on craigslist. Since I typically change every 2 years, this seems like a pretty good deal, but I want to have at least one line upgrade eligible so that I can go for the iPhone next year if it's as amazing as everyone says. Not the absolute best deal for taking advantage of this offer, but it works.

I'm getting down on this one. Cancelled my order from Apple and am going through AT&T. I have a 6 and ordered a 7+ 128GB. With $300 down payments a little over $20/month. I can trade both me and my wife's phones for 128GB 7+ models and the payments are a little less than $20/month. Seems to be a no brainer. Even if I trade in after a year the $325 is about what they are worth with no aggravation of selling it myself. Kinda crappy no credit for three months but I'll have it well documented to avoid problems. My ship date was beginning of October and now will be middle to end, not a huge deal.

I was a little surprised that all I got was one sheet that is basically a confirmation/receipt for getting the 7P on installment with the tax paid by me. But I agree with other posters that we have documentation on this (from chats, and the date of the offer along with the date of our purchase).

I hear you. It's true if you have a 128gb, you'll do much better on eBay. I only have a 64 gb and by mid to end Oct, the resale value of mine will be lower. And I put a value on not having to deal with the resale hassle. And if the 8 is delayed, I'll get additional months of credit.

Oh darn! You still get the deal if you pre ordered through Apple on a ATT Next plan. I don't think a down payment is necessary either

I read on slickdeals that we cannot move the iPhone from the line to swap with another one, and if we do, the credits no longer apply. It makes sense, but is that really true? I was hoping to upgrade someone else using my iPhone 6&line, then I just take their iPhone 6 and give them "my" 7, but it looks like this may not be the case :(

If you trade in after twelve months, half of the money you put down in a down payment is basically free money for att. Never put money down on a lease. Never. The only way to not get screwed now is to buy out the phone (either in full lump sum at 12 months or by letting the 24 payments play out) and then resell it yourself to recoup your down payment.

unless you want to buy the phone outright when the new one comes out and cheaper monthly payments.

the only reason i'm thinking of doing this is because my iP6 64GB (in mint condition right now) may not be worth even $300 by next year. i still have my wifes iP5s and we use it as a backup in case we send either of our phones in for repair which we've done twice.

Ok, so what do I need to do to take advantage of this promotion? I've already preordered a 7+ 128gb matte black through AT&T Next. Do I just show up in-store and say I want to trade my 6S+ 16gb and receive the $650 credit towards my new phone? Or do I have to initiate a chat with customer service to confirm I am eligible? I'm a n00b lol
