exactly. that is what I said, to get the full benefit of the $650.
Ok, the way I read it was you were saying you had to let the credit run it's full course before you could upgrade. Just a misinterpretation do to reading and not actually talking to someone lol.

Does anyone know.

I ordered an iPhone 7 fro My apple using the ATT NEXT plan.
Can I still get the deal or did I need or order from ATT?
I did a chat with ATT but when I mentioned I ordered from Apple I never mentioned it was on a NEXT plan.

Thoughts?

I can't get a straight answer out of anyone so I'm going to return my phone as soon as it gets here on Friday. Then order one through ATT.

Mine is passed the cancellation stage so I'm thinking that I will take my new phone to the ATT prior to opening it and try to do the trade in.

Here's my chat with att

If I do this promotion and then buy an iPhone 8 for full price can I just switch sims and sell my iPhone 7 next year?

I would think you have to pay off the iPhone 7 to be able to sell it. It'll be locked until you do.

Since AT&T Next is an agreement between AT&T and you, you can sell the phone and switch the SIM without loosing the $650 credit.

The phone will be locked to AT&T though and not unlockable until the NEXT plan is paid off. If you don't make the payments, the phone is still usable, but it will damage your credit score. (Reference: https://forums.att.com/t5/Wireless-...a-phone-on-my-AT-amp-T-NEXT-plan/td-p/4302454)

My phone is coming from Apple via the Apple Installment plan on Friday. I want to take advantage of the $650 AT&T Next promo so I ordered a phone form AT&T as well today under their Next plan. Can I take my brand new iPhone 7+ and sell it on eBay and then pay down the iPhone installment amount or am I stuck paying that off for 2 years?

Has anyone from Miami successfully done this? For whatever reason, the fine print specifically states that the offer is void in Miami-Dade county, however, after speaking with an agent via Chat, they said that I could walk into an AT&T store and qualify without issue.

Conflicting info from AT&T....they would never lol.

you can still get the deal as long as you turn in an already paid off iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus. If you still have remaining installments you might want to handle that first.

Why would you do that? If you:
-have paid off an eligible device
-are fine with turning in said device
-are fine with continuing another Next Plan

Why would you return one that is coming Friday? Did you pay for it outright or purchase with the Apple Upgrade Program?

Based off of what others have said, I think you'd be stuck paying it for two years. If you pay the installments down on your own, you are basically negating the $650 in credits since they are issued on a monthly basis. If you have an iPhone eligible to trade in, why not just sell the one coming and pocket the return on investment? Then just let the credits to your account happen monthly.

Are you not able to cancel the order from Apple? That would be your best option rather than trying to sell it after the fact.

Can I change my apple order to a Next order from a full payment order? On hold with apple but they are backed up.

You can still get the deal if you bought through Apple as long as you signed up with ATT next.

if you buy from apple store using Next, can I still keep my unlimited plan?
Yes.

I'm sure most/all of the answers to my questions are buried in here somewhere, but if anyone wouldn't mind helping me out, that would be appreciated...

My iPhone 6s is paid off and not under any sort of contract. I've never used Next before. But I live in CT, which I believe was one of the excluded areas. My initial thought was that I could just drive over the border and buy the phone in MA, but it sounds like that won't help me since this whole deal revolves around getting monthly credit for the trade-in which is going to be tied to my home address. So am I out of luck, or is there any way around this?

I think you are out of luck and your 6s is probably worth more than $325 anyway so if you're planning to upgrade to the 2017 phone next year, you wouldn't want this deal.

You can't go on NEXT with an unlimited data plan. It's required that you are part of a mobile share group.
Completely untrue. I successfully preordered an iPhone 7+ through att.com with Next as my payment source and didn't get asked a single question about my service plan. My unlimited plan still stands.

I myself live in Miami-Dade, one of the excluded areas, however, I chatted with an agent and called my local store and both assured me that I could in fact receive the deal. That I should have zero issues. Have you contacted a local ATT store to ask?

For those of you doing the AT&T promotion what will you do about phone insurance? Get AppleCare+ and turn the phone in after a year or get AT&Ts insurance?
[doublepost=1473771285][/doublepost]Do you guys know if you can upgrade to the iPhone 8 after a year is up?
