I don't usually get insurance but if I did, it will be AppleCare. My credit card usually has an extended warranty feature which is so beneficial nowadays.

And yes, you can upgrade, provided you're with Next 24 so you can upgrade every year, you just have to turn in your phone and lose the remaining credits of this promotion.

Completely untrue. I successfully preordered an iPhone 7+ through att.com with Next as my payment source and didn't get asked a single question about my service plan. My unlimited plan still stands.

Perhaps it has to do with me being on a business plan and still being in contract. It gives me a time frame for when I'll be eligible for upgrades and early upgrades but the collumn for Next is greyed out and says "ineligible".
 
how will this work, i preordered a 7+ and have a delivery date on NOV 11-18th with att next. In two years when my contract expires will i be delayed till nov to get a new one then?

In two years, you can either pay the last two payments early and own the phone and buy the newer one or you could send them your phone to payoff the lease and buy the newer one.once you've paid 50% of the price, you are free to upgrade by sending them the phone.
 
If I've already ordered through Apple but on ATT Next installments can I still take advantage of this promotion? Apple was going to give me $225 for my 16GB iPhone 6, but if I take the ATT promo and trade up against next year I'm getting around $325.

After one year then what if you want to upgrade? If the credits start 2-3 cycles after you upgrade then you will have only received 9 months of credits?

The first three months will be applied to your fourth bill as credits so you will get 12 months of credits.

When the credits start to appear it will be the lump sum of the months you didn't receive credit for
 
If I have 2 iPhones that are almost done with their 2 year contracts, one ends in October, and the other ends in November, but both are eligible for early upgrade...would I still be able to take advantage of this offer if I pick up 2 IP7 on the Next plan?...or do their 2 year contracts have to officially end?

Assuming you meant on their current Next Plans...you need to make sure those devices are fully paid off first. You can do this now and pay off their installment plans or make payments like you normally would when your bill is due.

Thanks for the reply... To clarify, I meant that the 2 current phones would just be ending their 2 year subsidized plans. I'd like to upgrade them to IP7 using the Next plan.
 
Called AT&T and was told I would be able to keep my old grandfathered unlimited plan and still partake in this promotion. Is that everyone else's understanding as well?

I am getting different info left and right from ATT. Yes, keeping the unlimited grandfathered plan is right. (You just have to do the next program) However, I have been to my store, called another store, and called ATT customer service numerous times. They all have said that we have to purchase/order our iPhone from the ATT store/website to get the trade-in promotion. Orders or purchases made from the Apple Store/website do not qualify. This promotion is all over the place and now I'm not sure what to do!!
I want to get the bill credits for my iphone6

I'd suggest playing safe and buying from AT&T. Worst case scenario - it takes an extra week or two to get your new iPhone.

Do what I did. Last Friday I ordered my 7 128gb black through apple.com. Found out about this ATT promotion over the weekend. Tried unsuccessfully to cancel my order with Apple (in shipment status) so F it, ordered another one through ATT today, same deal, 7 128gb black. I had tried to order in store on Tuesday (yesterday) but the first time there was a 30 minute wait to talk to someone in store, then I came back at night, for the 2nd time and was told their ordering system was down, and had been down for 3 hours. Finally today it was working so I was able to order online.
So when my phone gets here Friday from Apple, I'll ship it back. Only bad part ordering through ATT is that I won't get it for a week or two after this Friday, but for $650 I can wait. $650 is the best price I'll ever get for my 6, so I'm doing it.

I have always got one on the evens (never an S) so if there is some brand new deal next year, big deal, I'll get it the following year.
 
I just talked to the guy at AT&T store. He initially thought ordering through apple won't work. But after researching and reading the promo on his iPad he confirmed multiple times that even I order through apple I am qualify for the deal as long as the new phone is on NEXT and I trade in my old 6. I can bring in the 6 after I activate the new phone for trade in.

So no need really to cancel the order with apple.com just to get the offer.

When i ordered my 7 through apple i did 24 months so it was through citizens bank, not Next.
 
I don't know, this plan seems all too easy. I'm betting there will be a loophole at 12 months so that you can't get the iPhone 8 right away or something.
 
Does anyone know if the other carriers who are offering this promotion have it as jacked up as AT&T does?
There are so many questions and unknowns with this offer. And the worst part is you won't even know if it's all gone thru correctly and you're getting the credits you deserve for 3 months - by which time we'll all have to go thru this again.
It could really get bad in 3 months if many do not start receiving their credits - think of the nightmare it will be fighting AT&T then.
 
Sorry if this was asked previously but how does one partake in this promotion if it expires September 30th and I won't get my new pre-ordered iPhone until the middle of November?

Re-read their promotion. If I'm reading it right the 9/30 date is if you live in Puerto Rico.
