But wouldnt that be obvious? Many people skipped 5/5s because they were satisfied with the 4, and now a whole new generation came out + the different sizes. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

That's what I did. I've been on the 4S since December 2011.

I'm not mad. I'm laughing. It's funny how people complain that the Android phones are no good because of the size then Apple does the same and all of a sudden this size of product is cool.

Apple so is a cult and people feel they need the latest Apple iDevice to be a part of it. Even if they really don't like said type of device they'll buy it cause of the  on the back.

No. There were tons of people who wanted larger iPhones. There were also lots of people who think 4" is big enough.

Errrr No.

Tastes can't change if there was no choice! lol

You can't say that people last year or the year before did not want a larger iPhone 5 or 5s or even 4 or 4s as they just had to be the only thing that was made.

That's like me only selling Apple pie and saying well people are buying my apple pie, so they obviously don't want any other flavor :D

Then why dont they keep a smaller 4" Phone 6 around? Lol! Whats wrong with having choices...like you said..

I preordered mine without incident five minutes after they went on sale from AT&T... and then AT&T sent me an email this morning saying there is a 35-42 BUSINESS DAY wait.

Same here. When I checked this morning. I think I'm going to cancel. I wanted to order from apple but their site wouldn't let me trade upgrade eligibility like att's site does. My order was completed at 2:56am????

But I thought people don't want larger screens. Right Apple?

They were wrong about that, and -- if the existence of the 6+ somehow isn't proof enough -- those leaked documents from one of the Apple/Samsung trials make quite clear that they have known for some time that they were wrong. So if you want to keep beating them up over a point they've clearly conceded, have at it, I guess.

It's funny how many android users are upset that apple has a phablet now. I'm amused. Did I do that right, lol.

Nah. I went from a 4S (size of which I loved) to a 5c and love that so much I'm sticking with it until it croaks. I have an iPad mini for times when I think the screen of my 5c doesn't do justice to something I'm looking at on a phone.

btw Apple's not a cuit, it's a mega corporation. Some of the non-fans of Apple think Apple fans are cultists, though. They could be right ;)

For some reason I was able to pre-order my iPhone from AT&T at 11:45 PST... it literally took me somewhere between 30 and 60 seconds. Easiest iPhone pre-order of all time.

You missed the point. The reason people complained that Android phones were now good was because of Android.

right. It's clear that there are large numbers of people in each group, but who's to say those groups overlap in any significant way?

Personally, I still have no interest in phablets now that apple offers one. In fact, I don't really want a 4.7" phone either - 4.3" in a form factor no larger than the iphone 5 would be perfect - but it seems I'll have to accept it at some point to get the latest technology.

I took the day off to preorder the 6. Then I decided to boycott the huge sizes and just slept :p

Hoping for iPhone 6 mini.

How long before I can make calls on a 13-inch iPad? I want to look even more of a d1ck.

would love to upgrade from my iPhone 5 to the iPhone 6 Plus but unless i pay full price, i'll lose unlimited LTE with verizon

I'm in a similar boat. I'm on a Verizon family plan with 5 phones, 4 of them are iPhones with unlimited data. I've found a loophole and we continue to upgrade while keeping unlimited data. We transfer the upgrade from our line to the 5th phone (my mother's old dumb-phone), upgrade it to the new iPhone, switch devices on the plan, then downgrade my mother back to what she had. Has been working ever since they stopped unlimited data.

Or maybe no one wants the 4.7 version. Everyone wants the 5.5

Can't see it, the 4.7 will be the bigger seller because it's what "normal" people will use. In-fact I expect we'll see more phones start to come out at smaller sizes now the market is maturing and the "phablet" category has come into being.

The 5.5 is mainly for tech geeks and therefore people on sites like this so gets a skewed response here.

Order didnt go through

Everything is going well? My experience last night would beg to differ, unless Apple was lying about the carriers being unreachable in their reservation email.

Still, cool that they're selling so many, and I'm happy that I was eventually able to order my phone. :)

I waited patiently for the ATT site to allow me to order an iPhone 6 this morning around 2am cst. When I was finally able to input the order around 2:20am I completed the preorder and screenshot the order number. I never received the email confirmation though. I went back to sleep and checked around 7am and still didn't have the order confirmation.

I did the online order status for my order number but it failed. I went to the apple store web site and was able to put an order in for a silver iphone6 64gb (for same mobile number used on the att site) that shows expected delivery on the 19th.

I called ATT and they had no record of my order made ~2:30am, even though I have an order number and a screenshot of the order page after I pre ordered. Just an FYI to call ATT and confirm any orders you placed with ATT early this morning actually went through. I quickly received the order confirmation email from the Apple store transaction....

not a bad idea, except the line cost is $9.99/mo w/ taxes/fees comes to $17.68/mo. so that's an extra $213/yr or $426 every 2 yr contract period. doing some quick math, that does save you ~ $100-$150 each upgrade so that would be a neat idea.

at this point i am seriously thinking of switching to T-Mobile and milking the ETF promo bc their speeds are so much faster. but i just can't get past the fact that if i drive 1 hr West of Philadelphia, T-Mobile's service goes to 2G and doesn't return to LTE until you get to Harrisburg. LTE coverage in major cities and surround suburbs is superb...but once you start venturing outside of that it turns to garbage

You might want to ask your parents what the difference is between an OS and a manufacturer.

If you don't think Android/Windows/Blackberry phone makers wouldn't kill for a response like Apple gets EVERY time they release a new phone you're kidding yourself.

Sorry, you completely missed my Android fanboy comments. :D

Same boat. $650 is hard to swallow.

$949 for the 6 Plus 128GB is even worse.

Verizon does has a $200 trade in promo going on for the 4 and 4S which is a good deal b/c you can't even get $200 for a 4S on ebay right now. so i could give them my 4S, flip my 5, then i would have to pay an additional $175 to get to the price of the 6 Plu 128GB

bleh

or i could milk verizon's subsidy and the $200 trade in. switch to t-mobile and have them pay off the ETF and give them my worthless BB Curve to satisfy the program requirements. i'd save $30/mo just on my line alone if i did that. of course T-mobile's LTE coverage outside of major cities and suburbs turns to garbage 2G
