For my last online trade-in, they sent me a separate package specifically for the trade-in. I got the phone in one package, and then the trade-in kit with it's own return label and bubble envelope to send the old phone a few days later. Do they send both the new phone and trade-in kit in the same package now?

I’m not trading in my old phone in to pay dang near full price for the new phone over 36 months. I’m good. I hope At&T isn’t like Verizon when it comes to this. When you do the math….
If your current iPhone is completely paid off, AT&T will give you $1000 trade-in credit for the new phone and you’ll be paying probably $10-$17 a month for a new phone depending on which storage capacity you purchase.
Dude. All the carriers structure it this way. They give you the $1000 over 36 months. It’s a contract… as carriers they don’t honestly care what phone you buy.. they care how long you have service with them. So you DO get the $1000 it’s just not all at once. $27.78 credit x 36= $1000. So there you go.

But technically the phone is “billed” at retail but what he’s not getting is how the credits work- the credit go towards installments. The phone retail is billed out, so is the credit. It’s a contract in a sense. “Early termination fee” is the balance of retail so if he switched companies in the period of his installments that’s what he would get.
It’s replaced the old days of signing and two year contract and getting a subsidized price in the phone.
I have had a number of issues since pre ordering and was given a ship date originally of Oct 11th. My order popped in fedex today with a delivery date of friday between 830am and 1230 pm so orders are still populating today. I’m sure you will get something soon!

The tracking (or lack of) will drive you crazy. Best to just sit back and let it happen, haha!!
I got my orders in ~4:30am PDT on pre-order day and still don't have tracking, but AT&T shows "ships on the 19th with delivery on the 20th" so I'm good.

FedEx tracking located - shipped last night 9/15. AT&T likely to update mid week when package is in locale.
Created an account with FedEx associated with your delivery address. Found in Delivery Manager - I did not use a Reference# - it populated under Delivery Manager for me.
Mine look to be coming from UPS. I got a notification from the UPS App for AT&T Mobility from Fort Worth TX. I assume it is the phones.
It’s strange I have all my tracking info from fedex but I also have a pending incoming shipment from UPS which just gives me a number with no other info other than “pending delivery date”. I thought maybe this could be the return kit but not sure yet.
Could be the Return Kit. Says the shipment is 2lbs. I ordered two phones. It is also Next Day Air
After you unbox and register it with AT&T, then goto Apple Support to get AppleCare.
AT&T offers a rival care agreement but I always use Apple’s.
You now can purchase AppleCare+ right on your new iPhone. Settings > General Information > Add AppleCare+ coverage. You have 60 days.
