It would only be a FedEx tracking number. Do you have the FedEx app with an account (free or paid)? If properly setup for notifications you should receive a SMS Txt with a link for your tracking number in FedEx.

Does it indicate which Order hit a snag? Did you get the Order information on your last Call-in order that indicates it was a Call Center Order?

It is not 1 system but multiple legacy systems and they don't always place nice on the weekends. You should wait until tomorrow morning.

Dave
It indicates on the most recent phone in order (the order shows as a call center order, not online) but the order has no outstanding action. I think it may be a bug regarding accepting the T&Cs which already have been submitted.

Yes, that’s what I’ve heard too. Just wondering when my order will truly arrive ship.

Are you sure about FedEx? I live in DFW, last year my wife’s Pro shipped with UPS for launch day delivery.

I tried returning to the store but they never accept it. I’ve resigned to this dumb process now.
Do you know if you tried a Corporate store or a third-party Affiliate Seller?

You can search using this link: https://www.att.com/stores/
You will need to Filter the returned list to find Company owned locations (Corporate stores) and even then some Corp Retail stores don't play well.

If your ordered from AT&T your device will ship from the Ft Worth Distribution Center and be FedEx. Is it possible your wife's iPhone 15 Pro was ordered from Apple last year?

Dave

I always have issues with trade-ins. Every. Single. Year. For the past 4 years straight. They’ll send me texts saying I haven’t returned the trade in. And each year, I have to be on the phone with them to send them proof that I returned it. I tried returning to the store but they never accept it. I’ve resigned to this dumb process now.

I'm going to document the return. Nothing else you can do. I think very large companies have problems with returns. They need them, but can't manage them, so it becomes a battle with the customer.

This….

Apple orders - UPS direct from China (these are actually fun to track on this forum)

AT&T - FedEx from TX (boring…leaves Thursday, arrives Friday…meh)

Wow! Thank you, filtered by corporate owned and didn’t even realize they were different. Will try one of these locations this year.

All Corporate stores are not created equally. Last time it took me 3 Corp Retail locations to get one the actually accept both my trade-ins. 1 from AT&T and 1 from Apple both on a new Installment contract. My story is earlier in this thread.

Dave

Does anyone have the site that shows the flight routs live like we have done the previous years? lol

100% sure, actually checked the order last year from AT&T and it shipped with UPS.

Strange! But I did get a FedEx shipment notification just now. Looks like it got picked up and scheduled for delivery on Friday.

Is your iPhone Pro coming from AT&T - FXC Project 2 DF? Wondering if it’s truly my iPhone or AT&T’s trade in kit?

Yes both of mine say FXC Project 2 DF.

My first device now shows before 8 PM, it used to say before 5 PM with an Estimated: 9:20 - 1:20 PM. The second 1 still shows before 5 PM. They both have the 1 lb / .45 kgs that matches Apple's box weight for an iPhone 16 Pro.

Yes, mine is the same way. It has a before 8PM timeframe but my FedEx app shows me a smaller time frame 8:50am - 12:50pm.

Wonder if anyone can shed some light on how the trade in kit will be received? Will it be received with my iPhone or shipped separately? Since I did it via phone order, I was told it had to be processed separately, meaning the trade in is not attached to my order number. Apparently, I could Just take it to the AT&T store, which would be my preferred method.

My Important steps for your trade-in promotion eMail states: (See attachment below)

But that does not match the weights in FedEx. A few years ago AT&T put the Apple brown box inside a bigger box with a flyer on the upgrades steps, Strip of boxing tape, and a Label for the return.

Check a few posts back to my post about how to find an AT&T Corporate Retail location (Company store) to make an in-store visit to complete your trade-in.

I can’t stress enough (again) how sure you need to be between a return label and a trade in label. They’ve only ever given me a return label, even though they also gave me the bubbled envelope and strip of tape. Wrong label to use.

Interesting. The weird thing is, I haven’t received any comms about my trade in whatsoever.

So the label in the box isn’t the right label?

Honestly, I’d just prefer to take it to the store and trade it in. As long as it’s applied to my line with the new iPhone, I should qualify for the full $1000 credit, right?

This is confusing. So the label in the box of the new phone is the return label, not the trade in label. That makes sense to me, most orders come with prepaid labels in case of returns.

How does one get the trade in label? I was told I’d receive a kit on the phone

I have always called AT&T and had them send me a return label for the trade in iPhones. The label in the box that comes with your new iPhone is a return label for you to use if you don’t want the new phone you just received.

Exactly. I’ve given up on trying to understand ATT. Going to the store from now on for me.

And you will not based on your earlier post about a call-in order. If the phone rep did not ask you a set of questions about your trade-in there is not one tired to your call-in order.

You will not unless you complete this request: https://tradein.att.com/contact-us why do you want a trade-in kit? You stated that you wanted to return it to a retail locations.

If you really want a standalone trade-in kit just use the link I provided above to request a trade-in kit. But let's all wait until Friday to see what AT&T decides to ship us this year.

Trade in has always been a separate box mailed to me…also via FedEx in some cases. I even received it prior to the new phone shipping one year.

But since it’s typically a UPS or FedEX return, they usually ship immediately after the new phone arrives as you have 30 days to return…and they know most of the people need the old phone to do the transfer.

You can just use the return box and download the label. Compare the two labels, if they are different it's probably ok. I can see people making the mistake of using the return box and label.

I'm comfortable shipping it back. The risk outweighs the hassle of retail store experiences.

I have never received a box, always had to use one of my own. AT&T only emails me a label to affix to the box. They recommend printing a second label to put in the box in case the main label gets damaged.

Interesting…I’ve always received a fancy flat pack box…the phone slides in and is held by internal plastic? Really nice and simple.

It’s so wild how different everyone’s AT&T trade-in experiences are, haha!!

For the last ~4-5 trades (I’m using NextUp if that might make a difference) they include a label.

The instructions say to reuse the outer box the new phone came in and, if needed, use the iPhone box from the new iPhone to protect the old iPhone.
