You know given the problems that folks have been having with their iPhones in week one, I'm actually glad I don't have my phone yet.
 
He said it would take 2 days if you got priority shipping, which would cost an extra $15. Well when I got inside, the guy who processed my order told me it would take 2-5 days after I paid for the priority shipping.

According to my Rep you weren't supposed to be charged for shipping. Everything was going out the same (which seems like priority)

I wasn't told about a priority shipping on Friday. I called my store and they said they got a memo saying to no longer pick express shipping, charge or override the cost. They were all going out the say way.
 
Priority shipping is ridiculous since my normal DF order from Friday is being overnighted to my store by tomorrow according the online order status.

If there is anything more priority then the over night, then I might have paid $15.
 
From a business account perspective: we ordered ours on Friday (about four of us at the office). All weekend they were listed as backordered b/c two of the phones were 16gb black, which as we all know is crazy to try and find right now.. Well as of 2pm EST today all four phones have shipped. The automated line i called has updated and i have the tracking numbers. I will have my whitey 16gb in hand tomorrow... YAY!!!!!
 
Update on my deal is that the Order Status page now shows only the FRT backordered....

I wonder if that field flips back and forth as AT&T adds new stock to their system. Then once those are allocated it flips back to 1 unless your order was filled.

I ordered an 8gig Friday morning, went back this morning and canceled that and ordered a 16gig-black. The online system doesn't show my new order and still shows my now canceled order.
 
Same here... it's flipped... I ordered a 16GB Black via DF before 9am Friday morning - got an email Saturday saying 2-3 days... Coming to Greenville, SC...

I just re-checked my status, and my order is showing that the phone is not backordered anymore...just shipping? I am near Detroit, Michigan

I went to the ATT store today with a coworker who wanted to order one and she asked how long it would be. They told her that by ordering today that she might have hers by the end of the week or early next week.

I asked if they would be getting any for sale in the store, and they said they are ONLY doing orders from now on. They will have none in stock available for purchase until their orders are filled.

At least this makes me feel better that no one will be walking in off the street getting one before I get mine.

The other 1 million or so people have already had their initial unboxing, awe, and fun. They're child-like exuberance has worn off by now.

Now it's our turn!

Yeah, the time on my reciept reads 11. and I receieved my first e-mail that day at about 3 PM. This might actually be it, now all i want is my tracking number and i'll be happy! lol
 
I hope that's true. People who ordered Friday are starting to see shipping emails.

I ordered mine on Saturday and haven't received anything. The again it wasn't until Sunday that I got my conformation email (Though online status shows Saturday as the order date)...

I ordered mine saturday as well. My phone no longer has the 1 in the backordered category. However, I never recieved a confirmation email or anything from them?

EDIT: Just called customer service number on my direct fullfillment receipt. She brought up my order [placed on sat.] and said its shipping today and should get it tomorrow!!
 
Same thing for me -- phone no longer backordered. Placed the order Friday around 6:00 PM CST for an 8 gig.

Well it sounds like you might have a better chance of getting yours faster. The guy at the ATT store told me that the 8Gbs aren't nearly as popular as the 16Gb and so those orders should be getting filled faster.

On Friday the store didn't even have 3G models on display yet, they just had the old 4Gb ones...now they have two new shiny 8Gb models on display. If they are selling so well, they should be filling orders first instead of filling display models.
 
No Back Order... got mine in 25 minutes!!!

I went yesturdeay (Sunday 7/13?08) to Local Apple store in San Diego, CA. (UTC Mall) and i stood in line for 45 minutes. Got there at 8:50 am and they open the doors at 9:00 am (for iPhone shoppers, all other shoppers had to wait 'til 11:00 am opening time). I was in by 9:35 and out with phones by 10:00 am.


p.s. when i called the night before (Saturday) they told me opening time was at 11:00 am... Apple Store are not telling people of early/late open hours, length of line, stock available when you call them for info, but they have more than enough phones. don't go to AT&T store and have yours shipped; i upgraded a 1st Gen. iPhone and added another line in about 25 minutes.

Oh! By the way, anyone knows who can UNLOCK, both, 1st Gen. iPhone with 2.0 Update and NEW iPhone 3G??? i previously bought services from unlock-iPhone-OTB.com (which is the same guy as iPhoneinfused.com), but doesn't have update yet and i had YouTube problems with my 1.1.4...... so please reply to this if you have UNLOCKING info.
 
Placed my order Friday 4:30EST at my AT&T store... Phone and Freight Backordered and yet my card has been charged... The reciept says that they won't charge until shipped but I was definitly charged... Right there they violated their own contract with me... Not that I mind per say but, at least ship it out if you've charged me...

I'm so angry with my local stores... Lies Lies Lies... From it'll be in in 2-3 days to we will take one out of our next shipment, to Apple supposedly having no stock... Grrrrrr!

The demo phones are sent from Apple. We did not pull sellable inventory for our demo phones.

Great. Super. Good for you. Glad to hear it.

But why would you go into a thread where people are venting about not getting their iPhone yet and brag about how easily your scored one? :confused:
 
Here's a good one

I was in Philadelphia on Friday morning so I want to the AT&T store on 38th & Walnut. There were maybe 75 people in line. Waited 2 hours, sold out before I got near the door. Woman came out and said I could do direct fulfillment and have the phone shipped to my home and activate it there, I know this was BS so I left.

Got home and went to my local store Friday evening. Local rep "Patrick" told me that the 16GB black iPhones were a "Limited Edition" and if I wanted a black one it would be a 2 month wait at least. So I had him order me a white one instead. He then told me that it would be in the store on Wednesday, and if it came in any sooner he would call me.

I reveived the confirmation email on Sunday night, and of course the phone and freight are backordered.

Went back to the store Monday AM to ask about it and the woman who was there said it would be in by Friday, don't believe the tracking information. She also told me that there is ABSOLUTELY NO FAN DISCOUNTS for iPhone 3G service. I thought we just couldn't get a discount on the hardware.

I called business customer care and they confirmed that I could get the FAN discount. I wonder how many people at my local store have been screwed out of their FAN discounts.

Can you belive this crap?
