So I just wanted to say that I ordered a 32gig iPhone 4 at 3:30 am on the premier site, due to problems trying to order on the Apple store. My order said backordered until 6/19 pm, when it went away. I woke up this morning and got an email saying that it was shipping. Got the useless tracking number and everything, which I believe will not worknuntil the 23 or 24.
 
Not yet. which means UPS hasn't scanned it (Since thats how UPS works)


Probably wont until later this week.

Was yours Premier? If so, what time did you place yours? Also, were you ever showing backordered?
 
Has anyone whose order had the phone on backorder gotten shipping info?

Yes, mine was on backorder until Saturday. Received my shipping email today. I ordered through the premier site on 6/15 at 5:10 am central. The carrier is null on the AT&T site but in the email it said that it was shipped(which i assume means ready to ship since it is still in their warehouse) and waiting for the carrier to pick it up, which should be within 72 hrs.
 
Got my "Let's Talk About Your New iPhone" email, where it talked about my new 3GS...made me nervous that I accidentally ordered the wrong phone. Glad to see I wasn't the only one.
 
I ordered through apple on the 15th. Got through around 5pm central.
I got my acknowledgment email, the CSS email, and my tracking email.

Last update has it in Alaska. I guess its gotta cross godforsaken Canada. Fedex
 
Now I get another email titled:

Let's Talk About Your New iPhone


Sheesh, I wish AT&T would bugging with with emails!

I just got that too...

Says:

"Dear ********, (primary account holder)
We hope you're enjoying your new iPhone 3GS. Here's some important account information and easy-to-use self-service options to make using your new phone and managing your account as flexible and convenient as possible. So, let's get started."
 
Had the same problem with my Chase CC. Got an email on the evening of 6/15 about about a possible unauthorized charge. Call immediately and they released the charge of $1. I asked them what caused this and they said, "you charged something at Apple, Borders, and Walgreens". I mentioned that this didn't really sound fraudulent. All they would say is the system felt is was suspicious. Oh well.

Anyway, I order two phones with the card. One is shipped with fedex #, and the other (my wife's) has bounced back and forth between "not yet shipped" and "prepared for shipment".

Hope this helps...

Been reading these posts for days trying to keep up.

Premire order: 11:30AM CST 6/15

showing backordered on the ATT site still and showing processing on Premire site, no change since the 17th.

I have called ATT about 5 different times and they all said that I should have mine on release day.

If they would just send a MASS email to all of us that pre-ordered during a certain time, it would alleviate about 60 percent of the irate phone calls they are getting. How hard is it to know now who is getting them, and send a mass communication?

Count me in the group that appears to have been crapped on by Chase's overzealous fraud dept. Ordered a 16g for both of my lines, 6/15 at about 5:30 am via the regular ATT site. Got a call at about 630 from Chase to authorize the charge. Figured all was well, site showed the order as backordered. Woke up the next morning to the order reading cancelled. Called the help line, re-ordered with the same card, was told it went through. Called Chase to ensure no problems with the charge. Status says in progress with quantities listed under backorder. No big deal, i thought. Woke up the next morning to the order reading cancelled again. Called ATT, was told that if the card failed again, the order wouldn't be able to be edited again and permanently cancelled. Also told that they only try to auth a card once before cancelling. On an aside, this is a nice mix of stupidity from both Chase and ATT, chase for me having to unblock the card twice, ATT for only trying each time once, and never alerting me that there was an issue. The card was finally authorized and the order has been listed as in progress, never backordered since (6/17). Checking under my wireless number for order status gives me all three orders, the two cancelled and the latest, in progress. So I have been reading this thread, refreshing frantically all day. Checking the order status every hour or so, with nothing. Still managing to keep my cool until I receive an email. The boxcar notification on my phone says ATT: Let's talk about your new iPhone!. Having read that a ton of people have just gotten some UPS shipping and CSS emails, I think..this is finally it. Only to open the email to see that it is referring to the 3gs that I purchased a year ago. Thanks ATT.
 
Personally, i'm glad mine was shipped with FedEx. UPS has always sucked and screwed things up for me and FedEx always delivers super early with no problems.
Same here ! Last year, the FEDEX driver went out of his way to another driver to get my 3GS! Fedex is awesome !!

Anywho, Carla stated that she showed my iPhone was sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped out. I confirmed with her that she shows that a unit has been ALLOCATED for me. She stated yes it has.

I asked about why TONS and TONS of people's orders have been processed and tracking numbers have been given. She stated that until the iPhone actually leaves the warehouse it's not assigned a tracking number (obviously). I confirmed that it was still on for the 24th and she said, per a meeting and memo that was held today it would be fulfilled by the 24th.


thats the same thing they told me....it made me feel a little better about it:apple:

seriously...i can understand a couple thousand dollar charge but a $1 and a $230 from AT&T...comonnnn. well i guess we'll be the ones who will announce when those who ordered on 6/17 get theirs shipped. BUSHLEAUGE
 
On phone with AT&T and the woman said an email just came in to tell all reps that some customers will be getting their iphones on the 23rd.

She laughed and said that apple are not going to like that at all.

I don't see that happening though, Im sure Fedex and UPS will hold them until the 24th as they have always done in the past.
 
Ummmm...

Should I be concerned that I just got an email from AT&T with the subject "Let's talk about your new iPhone" that starts with "We hope you're enjoying your new iPhone 3GS?" This doesn't make me feel very optimistic... :(
 
Ordered at an AT&T store on the 15th. Order Status page says that I ordered on the 16th. Has said "In progress" since the 15th and has never been backordered. Still no shipping information...
