**AT&T iPhone 4 Order Status Thread**

I'll add another data point.
Walked into Apple Store around 10am CDT, they said computers were down and to come back later.
Walked into AT&T store about 2pm CDT on 6/15 to order, computers were a touch slow but no problem with the transaction (there was someone else right beside me also ordering two).
Received order conf. email at 8pm CDT on 6/15.
Bank shows a temp auth/hold for AT&T from 6/15.
Order status shows in progress and 1 qty ordered and 0 back ordered.
Order includes Freight and Various Sim.
Date Ordered shows as 6/15.
I already have a 3gs and had the 4 shipped to my office.
Sounds like next Tue will be an interesting day. Phones should start actually shipping, real charges should start appearing on CC's, and iOS 4 comes out. Wed will be the eye of the storm. Thu will be D-day.

Yeah I ordered mine at 12:20pm CST on 6/15, which is supposedly safely before the cutoff for the 'first batch,' but my order confirmation email and subsequent credit card charge didn't show up until 6/16. And the order status page shows a 6/16 order date. I'll be pissed if that means I don't get it around the 24th, because I ordered it very clearly on the 1st day of pre-orders NOT the 2nd. I have a copy of the order confirmation screen if I need to get nasty with AT&T.

im a bit worried, im moving on the 1st to another state. which would make getting the phone after that time a bit difficult

oh no.... order date is Wrong!!!
I placed my order with ATT at 4:44AM EDT on the 15th. But my order status says order placed 6-16-2010. It shows "in progress" and not backordered. But I'm sure if they misrepresented my order date, I'm in for unwelcomed surprise.
Anyone else run into this?

Sorry dpfenninger, just noticed your post. Let's hope it's correct in the system somewhere!
After numerous attempts through Apple and ATT, I was able to get my order through ATT Premier site ~3pm PST on the 15th. My order went from "Processing" to "Attention!" on the 15th. I called att and they had a few questions about my address, since I am a new customer. They also said it was showing that I had ordered 6 iphones. After 1.5 hours on the phone, they said I was good to go with my order for 2 phones. The status is still showing "Attention!", yet I call them every day to see if there is any issue and they continue to tell me that everything is fine and the status should change to "Processing", but it doesn't. The last rep I talked to said that ATT receives the phones from Apple on the 24th and then they ship them out, so the earliest anyone can receive them through ATT is the 25th. I don't believe any of them. Their ordering system/site is and still is a mess, and the customer service isn't giving me a good feeling. Not sure what I'm getting myself into for the next two years, but the bottom line is that I want the phone so I'll give it a go.

EVERYBODY else has run into this and im going to say for the MILLIONTH time, the order date on ur order status does not matter,the time stamp from when you ACTUALLY ORDERED does which is in their systems.ive checked numerous times just to be sure because i ordered mine 6/15 and order date says 6/16. all is well people!!!

Woah, really? If this is real, you're the first that I have seen their iPhone already "shipped." You have a tracking number and all? Post results of the UPS page when you track with the number they gave you.

That annoys me a bit. I ordered at 5:30 AM EST and mine says backorder...
Jherry, please tell us what that status page said previously, before it popped up with that UPS shipment info.
Did it list you as 1 ordered and 1 preordered? Or 1 ordered and 0 (or blank) preordered? I'm interested to know what the progression of the statuses is.

My order status says backordered. I don't really know what to make of it, especially still being several days away from what we hope to be the delivery date.

I'm not worried. I ordered mine for in-store pickup, so I know its going to the store and I know its going to be delivered.

I wouldn't fret too much, order tracking is historically inaccurate with most every company. I have things often arrive on my doorstep before I ever get a tracking number. I would only be concerned here if yours does not change the same day as the majority of morning orders. The likelyhood that this users claim is fake is high, or a fluke. When you see massive people post the same status, I would start to really keep a clad eye on it

I see many people posting what looks like an excel spreadsheet with order status\tracking number. where does this come from? when I login to min it says Ordered\Processing\Shipped, and Mine's on Processing...
It is the order status page those of us who preordered from the AT&T (Retail) Store get.
being in back ordered doesnt mean your not getting your phone. It actually means you are getting it there just waiting for your shipment so they can take it off back ordered and have it as shipment ready or whatever its call.Being in "Back Ordered" makes no sense for those of us that ordered early. You need to go to the retail site https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status.jsp?vMethod=&vNumber=&ZipCode= . I ordered on Premier, but it also shows on this site with a different order number and the status page you are looking for.

I hope you are right. There are so many people that ordered after me that aren't on backorder. Maybe 32G are backordered or something.
