I ordered 6/15 4:18pm EST. I received my Fedex tracking info yesterday. This morning, when I track it it says delivery June 23rd???? How can that be??? Will it actually happen? So strange. I ordered through regular Att and my card has not been charged.

No, as stated 10,000,000 times every year, they will not deliver early. FedEx will hold it.

When I did the search, I had to put in the order number and the ZIP code for shipping address. I think I read somewhere if you ordered through someone else, you need to use their zip code, not your home. Did you try that?

I orderd on Premier on 5:23 AM On June 15th regular site shows June 17 and backordered.

Yes, Apple sent out emails saying phones may come early.

Looks like this product launch might be the exception to that rule. Yay 23rd!

I think its because of the crushing amount of pre-orders. Either UPS/FedEx can't handle the load in one day, or ATT/Apple can't handle that many activations in one day. Or a combo of the two.

Regardless if I get mine on the 23rd or 24th - kudos for lessening the activation loads.

If it's true people will receive their phone tomorrow at least I have something to do while I wAit another day for mine to arrive; watch videos of unboxing and tests.

Ordered Mine 5:23 EST AM on premier! Shows order date of Jun 17th on regular att and still backordered

FWIW

I didn't take my own advice to just relax and not worry about it. I called ATT Premier this morning and was to that if your order is "processed" (which can be checked by calling 1-866-499-8008 and entering your order number) then it is ready to be paired with a phone and should be arriving by the 24th. Initially the CSR said the 25th and then the manager confirmed the 24th as an arrival date.

Fingers crossed

I hope a bunch of the official reviews are posted today since the NDA should be up for the major sites.

It is very possible that the ATT iPhone 4 units will originate from within the USA and NOT China. APPLE could have had pallets sent to ATT/FedEx for shipment from here.

I ordered my iPhone on June 15 at about 6:00 PM EST, but my order status shows it as 6/18  I have never had a back order but it still hasnt shipped, it just says in progress!

You're not getting screwed. You ordered at 6PM on opening day - there were 10s of thousands of orders ahead of yours that had to get entered into the system manually. Given your order status date, yours was one of them.

I still doubt this will happen. Apple is very careful and controlling when it comes to their product launches and distribution. FedEx is more than capable in handling the load, trust me. I don't see why people assume that FedEx is not prepared for this thing, THEY ARE.

FedEx has logistics experts (Logistics is the management of the flow of goods, information and other resources, including energy and people, between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of consumers) that meet with Apple before product launches and discuss how distribution will go. Apple produced a certain quantity of phones expecting to sell out. This is not a surprise to Apple, they knew the devices would sell out, and they knew exactly how many devices FedEx would be handling well before the product was even announced.

Obviously you have not seen the other threads where Apple states that some people will receive their order tomorrow.

I doubt it still. It could easily be a mix-up on Apples part. Apple support reps know nothing outside of what they are trained to know, stuff about early arrivals and product launches is pure speculation on the part of the CSR.

Looks like this product launch might be the exception to that rule. Yay 23rd!

I highly doubt that.

Edit: I now see that Apple is circulating emails indicating early arrivals for a few people, and that is pretty cool. Congrats to those few who will get them early! I still doubt this is due to volume to FedEx, as others have speculated it may very well be due to AT&T Activation load.

but I read on this thread about 3 people who ordered at 6:30PM - 8:00PM EST and they already have their tracking numbers!
