I figured I'd throw my info in since I've been lurking here the past few days...

I ordered a 32 GB iPhone at like 5 PM EST on 6/15 and it shows me as a 6/16 order. I don't think I've been on backorder at all, at least I haven't seen it during my overly persistent checking of the ATT Order Status. My order number starts with 6807 and I am still waiting for my phone to ship. No tracking number or anything and I'm still listed as "In Progress".
 
I know. I was praying that sleep would change it, but apparently not :(

Maybe some of our MacRumors friends can call AT&T on their iPhone 4s the received today and help us out. Good ole' AT&T just keeps getting worse. If Apple decides to date other providors, I will happily pay the termination fee, wipe my hiney with the money, and give it to AT&T with a smile.

Ordered my phone on ATT Regular at around 12:30PM PST on June 15th, just received tracking number 25minutes ago and have never experienced a 1 on backorder. It was 1 0 0 the entire time until now.

Currently in TX on its way to the Bay Area, CA. Order # started with 6808
 
Apple v. AT&T v. FedEx

Who can share my pain?

I ordered really early on the 15th, sometime around 4:30 a.m. CST, finally shipping info. from AT&T's website late Sunday evening, you know, the one with the non-working FedEx tracking number. Yesterday I received a pretty generic email from AT&T detailing the steps on how to switch over to my new phone (instructions which included transferring the SIM card...hrmm, don't they know that they are switching SIMs?). Anyway, awoke this morning and got a new email from AT&T telling me my order has shipped (AWESOME!) and they gave me a FedEx tracking #....that STILL DOESN'T WORK! Arrrrrrrgh! I have been very patient but am now getting very frustrated.

I think Apple is off the hook on this one, so now who do I focus my rage at? AT&T for continuing to give me a non-working tracking #, or FedEx, for not updating their damn system (or maybe my 32 GB IPH4 is sitting on the bottom of some stack somewhere)?

So if my phone is being delivered via UPS Next Day Air Saver, and the billing info was recieved on the 21st and it is in Memphis, TN as of 6 am today, and is going to an AT&T store in Northeast Ohio, is it safe to say I should be able to pick it up tomorrow?
 
I just got a tracking number - and I ordered in the morning (pacific time) of the 15th.

Finally! It's UPS (not FedEx...), but at least it is a tracking number.

Just got off the phone from FedEx, AT&T told them to hold the shipment for movement until tomorrow.....Apple customers get there's early, and we wait.....

So....those of you with tracking numbers and "out for delivery"......you're more then likely going to get the phone today! Check out the www.macrumors.com front page. Once lucky user has already gotten his iPhone4 and sucessfully activated it.....

No......I'm not bitter in the slightest with the fact that I don't even have a fricken' tracking number.......and my online order status states "Backordered".

Ordered 6/15 at 6am Pac time.

JUST NOW SHIPPED!!! FINALLY!!!

Will get it by 4:30 tomorrow!!! Still pissed at ATT for not going in order, but the weight is off my shoulders!!

Dont worry too much, I ordered on the 15th @ 9:11AM and my tracking still doesnt work.

Quick update...

I just checked my order status on the regular ATT site and it now says shipped and has tracking information. The tracking numbers don't work yet of course....

The premier website still says processing, not shipped...

This just changed within the past 20 minutes...

I ordered mine on the 15th at about 5:30 est and my order number starts with 6933 is anyone cares. The ship dates shows as the 22nd so either Fedex is going to hold it a day or it is coming tomorrow because my order said it was being shipped priority overnight.
 
mine was picked up in dallas fort worth this morning at 6am with a scheduled delivery date on fedex's website of tommorow by 3pm...guess we will have to wait and see.
 
Alternate FedEx Tracking site with more info

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I used this site when tracking my iPad because it contained more information than the FedEx one.

For instance, on FedEx my last status is "Left FedEx origin facility" in Fort Worth, TX. But on Yahoo it's "Arrived at FedEx ramp" in Dallas, TX. So at least I know exactly where it is now.

Weird thing is that FedEx has my delivery date for tomorrow, but Yahoo has no delivery date.
 
How do you know you will get it tomorrow????

FedEx shows an estimated delivery time and date. I'm only a couple of hours from Ft Worth where it is now. It's already been picked up, so no telling how long FedEx had it before ATT gave me the tracking number.
