I'm a new AT&T customer that pre-ordered the i4 at 6am EST on the 15th. I am porting a number over, and called AT&T to make sure all was well with the port, and they said both authorizations for the number were perfect.

When I log into "Order Status" it will not let me use my order number, it says not recognized. However, when I use my ported number, it lets me in. Shows the order date as 15th, In Progress, with 1's in "QTY ORDERED", and thats it. I called my bank, and they do have a record of AT&T sending a pre-authorization request being approved, but there is no record of it in my list of transactions.

My questions are, is the phone number the only way to check your order status, or have others used the order number? And when I try to create an account on AT&T for My Wireless, I enter my ported phone number(the same that gets me into order status), it tells me that they can not find a record of my number.. Is this because I have not activated the service yet?
 
I was in the same boat and my status just updated from backordered to not backordered! :)

I just checked my status and something changed here:
My Qty 1 Backordered (been that way since the 15th) has now changed to 0 Backorderd on all 3 sections on the ATT website...I do not know what to think anymore lol

To all just got backordered to 0, did they charge your account or is it still showing pending charges?:confused:
 
Just checked my att order status and I am no longer backordered! About time! Now I hope nothing else gets in the way...

i have been able to use my order number and new wireless number to check my order status.
as for making a mywireless account, i don't have the primary account holder's last 4 SSN digits, so i can't really answer that. but i would guess that's why, even though if you ordered through AT&T you would have already had an existing phone number or picked a new one during purchase (that's what i did)
 
This may be a coincidence, but when I went to check my account, I was unable to do so. It has this message:

L123: We are unable to process your transaction at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. You may contact our Customer Care department at 1-800-331-0500 or dial 611 from your wireless phone.


I've been reading about some canceled orders and this concerned me. Has anyone else had trouble? I can still check my order status (which hasn't changed) but I can't log-in to my regular account.



I too received the same error from both the premier and regular At&t sites. Also the *639# direct feature is inaccessible.

Although, after copying and pasting the direct website to the Order Status window, I was able to check my status. It's unchanged from Tuesday. Still "1" in the order column for all three.
 
My order just went from Backordered "1" to "0"... this is to hoping everything is going smoothly.. btw my charges disappeared from my card (since most pre-auth charges will within a couple days anyways) so i'll be expecting it to charge again sometime on the 23rd or thereafter whenever it ships.. good luck to all of us.. hopefully at&t will ship out early too
 
I'm going to bed guys I just wanted to give you all a status update for my account:

  • Only 2 items...iPhone and Freight
  • No "Various SIM"
  • Throughout this entire process, nothing was "Backordered"
  • I pre-ordered mine in person at an AT&T store

To people who don't have various sim (I do, just curious).. Did you schedule to pick it up in store or did you have it shipped? If you pick it up in store they will probably give you a SIM there..

And yup, seems to be a solid 0 on the backorder. :)

AHH!!! I think you got it! I had them ship the phone to the store and not to my house...It's all starting to make sense now! The store probably will have their own supply of microSIM cards available so they don't have to ship it with the phone...nice observation
 
Are ATT phones suppose to be delivered on the 24th or the 25th? I keep here mixed information. Does anyone know the exact date?
 
No backorders here either. It was backordered as of an hour or so ago. Charge has not been applied to the card yet.

It should be the 24th if you ordered before the 'afternoon deadline' on the 15th but no one really knows for sure. There have been mixed messages. I expect we won't really know for sure until we hear the knock on our doors.

they're *supposed* to be delivered on the 24th, but i guess if that fails it'll be the 25th. but we really can't get too angry about 1 or even 2 days late with all this chaos going on.

Sure we can. lol. Everyone who pre-ordered with in a few hours of the sites going live should get it first thing in the morning on the 24th no exceptions.
