My dad just got an email from ATT saying his iphone order has been cancelled. It was an add a line, single order. The pending transaction disappeared from his debit card account too. I don't understand why they would let him do use debit card in-store if they knew it wouldn't work? This next week is going to be a mess.:(
 
Ok, thanks. Honestly as long as it gets here on/before the 29th I have no problem. The 30th however, I'll be catching a plane out of state that morning, which means my family would have to ship it to me, and ughh that would be a huge mess.

i feel your pain, im moving to oregon from california on the 1st. if my phone doesnt make it by then im screwed
 
So you have a friend whos a 'sr. vp' at AT&T and you just told us Backordered or not doesn't mean anything..

Now you are saying some AT&T Reps are stating the above..

So I guess those AT&T reps suddenly out weigh your "Sr. VP" friend?

I'm not to worried. I think AT&T should be able to handle the people that ordered all the way through that 5pm cut off time which has been floating around on the 15th.


what is this 5pm cutoff? i can't find info about it anywhere.

My experience is a bit different from those in this thread.. (SS as of 9:55 PM MDT 6/19)

Firstly, I ordered about 45 seconds after AT&T Premier came online with the iPhone pre-order, I'd estimate around 1:25 AM MDT.

By 1:51 AM MDT I'd received my confirmation code from AT&T Premier. When I checked on the site the order was received, about 3 hours later it changed to processing.

Confirmation simply read:
Thank you for your purchase from the AT&T Premier Online Store. We're pleased with your choice of AT&T as your wireless service provider.
Pre-orders will be fulfilled beginning June 24, 2010. Orders will ship on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify you by email when your order ships. Note: Do not attempt to active your device until you have received it.
You can view the status of your order (https://www.wireless.att.com/business/order_status/) in AT&T Premier Online Store at any time.
Reference Web Order Number: [number here]

It's a bit different then the other confirmations that came later in the day..

Checking on the normal AT&T order page, my order number starts with 4472-**********. At first the items were not backordered. My order date still shows 6/15 (unlike many here who show 6/16) on both the premier status and normal AT&T status page.

I do have various SIM listed.

In a bit different boat, but I was one of the first to order and my confirmation e-mail came (almost) right away in comparison to a lot of them.. I am back ordered though. From what I've read, it almost seems as if being back ordered is a good thing, because mine progressed from not being backordered to back ordered in the same day.. Also not new service either, but that's been discussed ad nausem.

Calling AT&T Premier gives me a very different message then most, as well. "The items you have ordered are on back order and will be shipped as soon as they are ready, keep checking back" blah blah blah

The charge on my bank/debit account was pending, it went through today....BUT..

Now I have a SECOND charge on my account for it. I'm getting billed twice for it at the moment lol.
 
what is this 5pm cutoff? i can't find info about it anywhere.

i've heard it from a couple of websites. apparently there was a "first batch" of iphones available for preorders. but so many people preordered, they blew through that by 5pm EST, 4pm CST on the 15th. so if you ordered before that time, you should get your iphone on the 24th. if it was after, it'll arrive around july 2nd. but then they blew through the second batch. (i don't know what the cutoff time is for that) but if you ordered it on the 16th, you're probably in the third batch and that one's supposed to arrive around july 14th.

what a great big mess this is.
 
As of today 6/18/10 my status is:

I preordered thru AT&T on 6/15/10 and I have Bank of America checking:

on 6/15 - Preordered smoothly at 7:15 AM PST, got an email confirmation 5 minutes later and order status thru Premier site shows received and processing. Order status not available on regular AT&T site. Preauthorization shows up but just $1 charge and another $0 charge

on 6/16 - Preauthorization gone and nothing else. Order status the same on Premier site but status not available on regular AT&T site.

on 6/17 - Pending charge for the iPhone shows up! Order status remains the same on Premier site and order status on regular AT&T site now available and showing in progress but also showing backordered. I also got to check the status thru automated phone and it says "your order has been processed and will ship shortly"

on 6/18 - Still showing pending charge (usually pending charge on my bank only takes one day) I'm worried but we'll see. Order status for all type remains the same.

So that's that, hopefully everything will go as planned to be ship on June 24, if not, I got a backup plan, I reserved an iPhone to be picked on the Apple store. Wish me luck! :p

on 6/19 - Still showing pending charge for 3 days now (usually pending charge on my bank only takes one day) I'm worried but we'll see. Order status for all type remains the same. I have not contacted customer service because I'm afraid that will worsen the situation. So here's hoping that comes Monday, it'll all change and hopefully shipping by that time:rolleyes:

What I'd like confirmation on, is what if you ordered on the 15th before the first cutoff, but AT&T didn't process anything until the 16th?

I've never seen the lines hit backorder, I have no final charge, so it's all very confusing.

from what i've read on this thread, if you check your order status online, and it says you ordered on the 16th (meaning they probably processed it on that day), but you really ordered on the 15th, that date doesn't matter.
to clear up, the order date itself doesn't matter, it's the order TIME of the day. as long as the order was submitted before the cutoff time, you should be good, regardless of what the order date online says.

I got this in my confirmation email:

"Thank you for your recent order. Your iPhone has been reserved and is expected to ship on or after June 24, 2010. Your order details as well as activation instructions are included below."

My receipt from the AT&T store says I completed my order at 11:34am on the 15th, so I know I made the first batch pre-order cutoff. Does this email mean my iPhone will not get here on/around the 24th? Did anyone else get this in their confirmation email?


my order status has not changed at all over the past few days, so i'm taking that as a good sign? hopefully it will say "shipped" by monday or tuesday.
when i check my status online it says this:

I have the exact same situation aside from receiving the email from AT&T Premier store at 2:01 am on June 15. I really hope that having a "back ordered" status is irrelevant. I want my phone Thursday!

I've been reading about some canceled orders and this concerned me. Has anyone else had trouble? I can still check my order status (which hasn't changed) but I can't log-in to my regular account.
 
Should I worry that mine doesnt say VARIOUS SIM?
Just Freight and the Phone itself.
It was ordered from an AT&T Store.

I was in the same boat and my status just updated from backordered to not backordered! :)
 
I just checked my status and something changed here:
My Qty 1 Backordered (been that way since the 15th) has now changed to 0 Backorderd on all 3 sections on the ATT website...I do not know what to think anymore lol
