I just want my tracking number before post #7000.

Anyone else that ordered at 5AM and spent 20 hours on the phone only to be lied to repeatedly -- justice came in the form of a $200 credit, special rate plan, and 1000 free rollover minutes -- just an FYI!

I had to call the 0500 line and ask to speak to retention though (retention handles cancellations). The regular customer care reps simply don't have the power.

What is the special rate plan??? details!
 
Who told you that you weren't getting a microsim?

Well after going through agony and disappointment trying to get my phone yesterday or at least today, I gave up and went to a radio shack store yesterday and wrote my name down on a waiting list for iPhone 4, and today went to the store and now I am typing from my iPhone 4. Now you tell me if this whole pre-ordering process made any sense...

Both of my AT&T orders are still processing. WTF!?!
 
So AT&T sent me an e-mail on the 22nd about a bogus problem with my selection of the data plan. So I called them up, and we ended up doing nothing, and now my order date says 6/22, and the phone backordered.

A 6/22 order means I'm not getting it for who knows how long.

But my main point is, why does that change the order date?

This is exactly what I'm worried about. My initial order was messed up, so my official date is the 17th. Even though everyone I've spoken to at AT+T insists I'm grouped with the 15th, they collectively have no clue. Its not their fault. They have no information to give, and they obviously aren't permitted to just plead ignorance.

I'm working tonight, on the way home tomorrow I'll be stopping in at every Radio Shack and AT+T store I pass.

I have zero confidence that I will get my preordered phone before I find one myself in a store.

That is awesome, I can't do that apparently because my upgrade is used and my order is already processed. I wish I could cancel and try my luck somewhere else so I just have to wait it out
 
I hope mine gets shipped on the 29th even though its probably not going to my order got screwed over so now it says i ordered mine yesterday :(
 
So I ordered by Iphone from AT&T Premier at 10:30am on 6/15. I get an email from AT&T on 6/22 that my phone has shipped. However, the Fedex tracking number since then states "Initiated" and "Jun 22, 2010 4:19 PM -Shipment information sent to FedEx". It initially said expected delivery date as Jun 23 2010 3:00pm but that has since disappeared. Now it just stays stuck as Initiated. I called Fedex and they say a label was likely printed but the package has not been received or scanned by them. AT&T states the package was shipping and is in Fedex's hands. What the heck is going on and where is this phone now?? Anyone else w/ this problem?


So after talking to multiple representatives at AT&T and Fedex, they have now come to the conclusion that my phone maybe wasn't shipped properly either at AT&T's warehouse or on route to Fedex. Either that or it was stolen/lost. So AT&T now says they will send me another Iphone 4, BUT I have to call in on June 29 for them to place the order. Apparently, they aren't allowed to reissue my order or place a new order for a new phone. Not only that, my credit card has been charged as of 6/22/10 and I cannot cancel my order. So now I have to call in June 29th and be on hold for probably an hour and then be placed in the very back of the waiting list. Arghh!! Currently on hold for the last hour waiting for an AT&T supervisor to see if anything can be done today.
 
Time for my daily update on my AT&T disaster pre-purchase...

I was able to get on line at my local Apple store today. They didn't even sell out yesterday so they had plenty of iPhones available for today. While waiting in line, I called AT&T to see if my order could be cancelled... The manager told me that he wasn't able to cancel it... because it shows as pending. Go figure. He was understanding of this whole s%&tfest, but there was nothing he could do, he said. He said he'd call the shipping dept to see if I could get at least a real status of my order. Shortly thereafter, my friend who has been checking my order on AT&T contacted me to tell me it shows as SHIPPED! AND I got a tracking number! REJOICE! They're shipping it via FedEx and standard overnight delivery, so that means I don't get it til Monday ("next business day before 3PM"). Order # is 125xxx. But whatever. All I REALLY wanted was to know it was out there and shipped, I don't mind the wait so much. So finally, I got a tracking #!

I still had 1 upgrade eligibility on my account so I stood in line at the Apple store for 2 hrs and got my mom her iPhone on that number but was unable to get mine cancelled so I could get one in the store. So now my whole family has an iPhone but me. HAH! It's just so insane how I can walk in an Apple store without any pre-purchase or reservation of any kind, wait 2 hours, and walk out with a phone.

Meanwhile, I took steps WEEKS ago now to ensure I was able to upgrade, showed up at an AT&T store on the day of pre-order in the morning, and have to wait til Monday to get my "pre-order".

Sooooooo dumb. :(

Everyone, keep the faith. I am for sure gonna try to get some sort of credit on my account for all this crap though...
 
Yeah AT&T jerked me around for the last time today. I called to find out why my order stillllll was not shipped and got yet a 4th excuse and that I should see my phone no later then the 28th... I canceled despite being told 5 times I couldn't. I pretty much flipped out and yelled a little. She said "Ok I will try to cancel"... uh sure enough got an email 4 minutes later that my order was effectively canceled

Not only are the d bags at AT&T screwing everyone over in shipping out falsely promised pre-orders but they are also lying about not being able to cancel them.... Pretty much solidifies my droid purchase.

This is a contest I will whole-heartly join. Here are a few reasonable rules.

Rule #1 If you receive tracking info from AT&T that can be seen by FedEx in 24 hours of posting you're out.
Rule #2 If you pick up an iPhone 4 from somewhere else you're out.
Rule #3 If you cancel your order with AT&T you're out.
Rule #4 If you had previously inactive tracking info from AT&T which went active, you're out.

Add any more rules you think are fair.

I don't know...With my "order date" changed to 6/22, I think i'm going to win in a landslide.
 
So i am still In Progress with no emails I am have been calling ATT just like everyone else here. I was just going to cancel this and buy a iphone at apple but I am unable to do this without paying full price for the phone since the pre order took the upgrade price. It blows how if I did not preorder i would have got the phone sooner and that defeats the purpose of preording. I am hoping there will be change later so I will at least get it on Monday.

there should be a prize for who ever wins this contest :cool:

Wow that's crazy, I feel for both of you who order date got switched. But I'm still on this boat as well. I'm with the 5051's. Hopefully this weekend will bring change. Everybody keep everybody posted. It's been real helpful on the thread.
 
guys and gals with order on 6/22 and 6/24....did you place the order on 6/15? I think that should be the first rule.....

if you did not place the order on 6/15, you simply cannot play.

and if it's true that you guys ordered on 6/15, but now have 6/22 and 6/24 order date, even though you may think you have me where you wanted as I am 6/18, but, I will still come out on top. just you watch........watch my luck DUMP on me!!!
 
auric, what does your order date now say? and did you originally place the order on 6/15?

I did place my order on the 15th. Got my confirmation email within minutes. Got an email on the 16th saying it was being processed. On the 17th my order finally showed up on the order status page (with an order date of the 17th). Never showed backorder or other problems. Just In Progress. On the 24th I called and customer service said it hadn't shipped yet and they didn't know when it would.

Just checked my order again and still in progress. Order date is still the 17th. No new emails either.

My phone must be in limbo :mad:
