FedEx gives time estimates because they base their next day services prices off of when you want it to arrive. It's more expensive to have it guaranteed by early morning than mid afternoon.

My non-premier order shipped FedEx and is coming tomorrow (though it's progress seems to be pretty slow, probably because of the weather)
 
sigh looks like I won't be getting my iphone anytime soon. I checked and my order has been canceled for who knows what...second time I haven't been able to get the phone. I was there on opening day and didn't have my licenses so they wouldn't let me get one. Then this crap now...i think i'm done with AT&T.

Uh...you forgetting your license is not AT&T's fault. Have you called to see why it was canceled? Perhaps there's a legitimate reason.

On a related note, I'm still hoping my phone arrives tomorrow. So far it hasn't moved from Memphis and their weather has cleared up recently. I hoping there's just a delay on updating the tracking information and they'll be some progress by the time I wake up in the morning.
 
good news, the 32's I ordered instore on 7/25 just came off of backorder.
Looks like the 32's are moving fast.
 
Got my shipping e-mail on the 27th.

Ordered 32 GB on 21 July (around 3 a.m.) through premier
Off backorder after 1130 a.m. on 27 July
Shipping e-mail received at 930 p.m.
Fed Ex on 29 July

My otterbox defender case arrives today and my iPhone 4 arrives the day after. Perfect timing! :)

Good timing on the case! I have some cheap Hong Kong cases coming that should beat the iPhone to my door. The 99 cent jobby will have to do until my free case comes.

Well holy cow, the 16 gig just came off backorder this morning. The charge has hit my bank account for it too. Now just waiting on a tracking number for it.

about 3hrs from memphis, but I figured it would have to get here early in the morning to go out on the truck for delivery?

EDIT: Just checked it again and it just made it to Paducah, Ky(My hometown) at 7:57am. I'm guessing it will go out for delivery today :)

If it left memphis between 3am and 4am, that would put it in your area between 6am and 7am. I would think it's still a possibility...especially since FedEx strives to deliver as promised usually. Keep your spirits up. You may get lucky! :D

The timing was more luck than anything. As soon as I found out the otterbox was out, I placed an order for it. After that, I placed my order for my iPhone.

the truck picks up the items and then goes to fed ex hub all in memphis. in order to get to u by the next day fed ex has to fly ur item

I saw that on the site and would expect it not to move out of the facility if there was a weather delay...I just thought it was a little odd that it left the Facility and came back after being out ALL day. Thats all.
 
Looks like they moved A LOT of orders yesterday! I wonder if they receive shipments more than once a week. I also wonder how many iPhones they receive weekly on average... Any ideas?

The trend has seemed to be showing that a lot gets done tuesdays
 
Any word on 16GBs? My fiancée is waiting on one. Seems like the 32s are moving fast, wondering if Apple is shipping those huge shipments to AT&T as well.

32gb ordered at AT&T store on 7/24. Went off backorder 7/27. Ships today(7/28) w/tracking number.
