Any one have an idea of why AT&T is shipping some phones via fed ex and others (mine) via second day air USPS. Last year I had Fed ex overnight on the 3GS. I'm patient and all just curious about the change.

Rumor has it depends on if you are premier or regular but that can't be right since I had my orders last year as USPS and my orders this year as Fedex.
7/22 16GB ordered in store... came off BO sometime while I was at work today. Still haven't received any shipping info

Shipment information sent to FedExMy 32 gb did not need a signature. I called fedex and I was told AT&T valued it at $1! When I told fedex it was an iPhone, the lady got mad. She said AT&T values them low to get cheaper shipping. She said they have had a problem with this before.

they purposely slow down orders to give people an incentive to pay more for faster shipping ?

Everyones tracking info seems to have its own quirks. Above is mine as of a few mins ago. Why it sat in the FedEx warehouse all day before leaving is beyond me, and how it got from TX to IN in 6 hrs is also a bit of a mystery considering its a 15 hr drive, but only an hour and a half by plane...

this happend to me last week. dont worry. it will move by the morning. and you should receive in the afternoon.
In progress just means it's still in process of being made/tied to your order etc... If you have a number under the "Qty back-ordered" column, then you're still on back-order. If there's a zero, then you're not and you should get a tracking number shortly.
Finally...I woke up this morning to an email that my 16g (Blk) has been shipped as of 3:39 PM, yesterday. It is due at the AT&T store tomorrow via Fedex. I ordered it along with my 32g on July 22nd. The 32g was received on the 27th.
I must say, the store manager did state it would probably take 7-10 business days to receive the phones due to the large volume of orders. So tomorrow will be the 10th business day.

It left the fedex sorting facility and entered the fedex air facility at the airport.

Mine is the same. I suspect the phone is already here in Tyler (it is only 2 hours away from Ft. Worth) and mine still says today is the delivery date. If it said you were supposed to get your phone today you likely will as every other delivery I have had does the same kind of thing.
For those of you saying you shipment did nothing the whole day, could it be timezone differences? There is a drop down menu to change the timezones of the shipment.
