Oh no! I can't duplicate the process, I just tried and now it doesn't match anything. Fail. I hope UPS is just experiencing lag or something because it was there.
My 32GB Black ordered via 611 on 10/7 @9AM still backordered. 16GB Black ordered on same call says shipped 10/10 via FedEx.
my status has been Preparing for Shipment since Friday.Checked out UPS and use my phone number as reference and boommmm my phone just departed HK..YaYY!!!
I don't get a direct discount from my employer, but because I am a government employee AT&T offers me the discount. Which put me into a Premier account without me really even knowing.
When you add the discount, you become a part of the Premiere account, but you are personally liable for your line.
I'm part of the LOCAL GOVT LA FAN according to the website.
Edit: Also 611 now tells me I have a phone waiting for activation. Super green.
But I've been checking all day and my screen is still at Back Ordered : 1. I'm hoping that the computer system is just being slow or stupid and I'll get it updated tomorrow sometime saying it was shipped. Then get my phone on Friday. If that doesn't happen, i'll probably rip my hair out because it seems like I'm the only one who isn't getting theirs shipped. My date ordered even says "10/07/2011" not on the 10th like some people. But even THEY got their shipping and back order changed. TF
Ordered the same exact thing, have the same exact messages and situation only I ordered on 10/7 at 3:30PM PST. Heaven forbid I run into an AT&T manager in the street on his way to work or something.
OKAY it seems that 32gb white iphones, ordered possibly after "dawn" friday morning are still backordered...

I got 2 emails. 1 for the 16gb white and 1 for the 2 32gb whites.
Only the 16gb has a tracking the other order with the 2 32gbs are still processing with a backorder.
I called over the phone.
I believe white 16G ordered around and after 7 am PST (online) is facing the same thing.

My 16 gig white is scheduled for delivery tomorrow according to FedEx. The csr said there were some problems with the tracking system as I also couldn't track other packages.

So I just checked, and the money taken out from my bank account at the time of pre ordering was just put back into my account. I checked it yesterday and the money was NOT there. If I wasn't keeping up with this thread, i'd be breaking down walls instead of breathing and relaxing.
Anyone know if this means it should be shipping soon? I already know that it's normal and they'll take the money once it ships.. but is this a sign at all of shipping coming closer?

Has nothing to do with shipping time. Banks only allow holds for so long usually 72-96 hours

Unfortunately, I did not know this until now. I've never had this happen before with Amex. Usually, Amex would not have denied the charge but put it in a pending status until we confirm it was fine. It just so happens that I decided to use a different card with points. Lesson learned.
Please god, dont ever let me order through the AT&T site ever again. Way to much stress. I sold my iphone and must ship it this Friday. I assumed since I ordered my new 4S at 9:30am and got an email confirmation advising that I will have it on the 14th. They charged my credit card. Today the site says "Processing." and the charge disappeared on my credit card. What the hell?
You are not SUPPOSED to have lost it. I'm in the same boat on one of our phones and I was told we'd still get it Friday.
