AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

Makes sense I keep seeing people who ordered a white 16G early getting fulfilled now or last night. Maybe ATT ran out or only realized they ran out after the fact. Alternatively it could be white phone stock short shipped due to production issues or some other reason. Happens all the time. Someone here whose sister ordered from Apple in the afternoon for a white 16G has not gotten a tracking # so she thinks she is screwed as well.

Could be a system wide issue that wasnt known till after the 7th. NOTE all this is my own speculation based on experience in this industry.

I also am not ordering through AT&T ever again. They can screw themselves. As for the credit card charge. Apparently it's normal. They are dropping credit charges and bank account charges are being returned until they actually ship and send your iPhone to you.

I ordered the phone through AT&T as soon as their site opened up which was around maybe 4 AM Eastern time the day the went on sale.

Not true! I just called fed-ex and asked her to track my package. She laughed and said "let me guess...iPhone?" I laughed and said yes. She was so nice. She told me stories about her daughter pre-ordering problems and then we got into talking about christmas..I don't how. But anyway, she read me a memo they got today. It said "expect a high volume of calls regarding a bulk shipment of iPhones. The phones are going to be released on the 13th via air to arrive on the 14th". She went on to say that my tracking # is part of a huge bulk shipment that going to go out all at once...Tomorrow. That's why we can't get info when tracking. So she said to check tomorrow and info will start showing up.

On a side note: she said that she just started her shift and I was her second call about the iPhone. She said the last caller said he HAD TO get a delivery confirmation because the package contained items for a medical emergency. She said "I just laughed to myself because it clearly tells me it's a cell phone" then she said "you guys are nuts. Lying to a fed-ex rep saying it's a medical emergency...you are all just crazy beyond belief..lol. So if any of u decide to call, be advised that they can see it's the iPhone before u make up an outrageous story to try and get more info.

And, will the person who called about the "medical emergency" please stand up and own it. I know ur lurking around this thread somewhere. Lol!!

Yes. Received TC Monday night :)mad:) and still shows in progress, pending shipment, and all items have a "1" in the backordered column.

I ordered a white and black 16gb at 2 am on Friday......just got off the phone with Fedex after trying unsuccessfully to track it online.


HE SAYS IT'S DUE FOR DELIVERY TOMORROW!!!!


Sorry ....had to yell that...I'm a bit excited.

I got my tracking number but im with UPS so im guessing they doing the same as releasing the product 2morrow...

Be happy you even have a status at all! My order doesn't come up at all. I have called AT&T several times and my order shows pending, so its in there, I just can't see it. No fair!:confused:

I've also ordered from store Friday and NOTHING HAS CHANGED yet, still has no sign of moving, 0 progress~ Dam

BUT to answer your question, i have seen people ordering form store and got their tracking number.... so just keep fingers crossed~ Cheers:rolleyes:
 
Just spoke with my cousin whose a manager with FedEx, he told me their having huge issues with a glitch in their system and it's going to delay the orders for my ATT orders.... This really sucks.

I was told the same thing by a Fedex rep like half an hour ago. My tracking number was part of a bulk shipment which is supposed to be released tomorrow. She did not have any other info besides that. She couldn't tell me when I could expect the delivery.
Let me clarify, I wasn't the one who said it's a medical emergency, I told her straight up I am expecting a new iphone through ATT. That's hilarious though.

Thanks for the info! Hoping it changes soon. It could be worse I guess, my bro ordered through apple and they "lost" his order but now cuz they messed up they're letting him pick any accessory he wants for free....

There are in fact many people order later and even saturday and even some showing order date later than 10/7 already received tracking info...
feel so sad... dam it~
 
I ordered mine at ATT store at 1:45pm (eastern) my order still says "back ordered" anyone ordered later then i did and get a tracking number? I have never ordered through ATT and I am getting a bad feeling i won't get it this friday :0
 
Have people who ordered over the phone receive their tracking numbers yet?

Mine is still Pending shipment. :(
 
Ordered a 64GB Black in a brick-and-mortar AT&T store at 4:30PM Central on the 7th. I had it shipped to me, however.

The AT&T rep told me that he "had" to tell me 14-21 days but that it should be here on the 14th.

Currently still on back order online.

Now the horror story for all those deadline orderers:

Called 611 just now and was told that since I ordered after 4pm Eastern time I am in the "second wave" of shipments which will not begin shipping for "at least 21 days".

Called the store in which I placed my order, hoping they could provide better news, but instead it got worse. The store rep I talked said "It will be at least 4 to 5 weeks before you get your phone". Even after pointing out that at the time of order I was quoted 14-21 days from last Friday, she maintained that 4 weeks was the "EARLIEST" I'd see my phone.

Those 90 minutes royaly ********* me.

yeah anyone who ordered anything but online seems to be delayed as far as status goes. now, us getting the phone friday? we will just have to wait and see :/

Wow~ How can they 'lost' a pre-order lol~ anyway, i have a feeling that tomorrow morning will be great!! at least for me and everyone else here~ CHEERS!! Who's with me?

I really hope mine doesn't come tomorrow because no one will be around the house to sign for it. Would FEdex leave it without a signature? I'm not sure if I'd want them to anyway, but would they?

Thats some ************, if thats true you think AT&T would give you the courtesy of letting you cancel your preorder and get one in stores on friday or reserve one in a store for you....:mad:

ugh you guys sound like you have it worse but i currently own an iPhone 3g and i don't know if i can wait a whole nother day for the 4S.... my shipping info says in transit and its in louisville, KY...it started out in china on sunday so i was figuring i would get it early but i guess that ups figured out that they started to ship it too early so they are holding it in kentucky probably till tomorrow....
